Betty and Katy her bestfriend were returning back from lecture gisting and laughing, when kelvin bumped into them looking tattered and was putting on a worn cloth ”hi ladies”, kelvin greeted while Betty was seen looking at him disgustfully ”hello”, Katy responded looking at betty to respond too but Betty was just looking at kelvin disgustfully frowning her face

”errrrm pls can I have a word with u”, kelvin said to Betty who hissed at him and was about walking away when kelvin held her back, before kelvin could say anything,two hot slap met with his cheeks

”are u mad? are u crazy? how dare u touch me with ur wreched hand? Betty yelled with a squeezed face

”haba Betty! that’s too much na! u should have atleast hear from him before u slap him! just see the way u slap someone u didn’t even know before! na wa for u o! pls young man! I beg on behalf of my friend! sorry for the way she slaps u”, Katy said to kelvin who was seen holding his cheeks due to the slap Betty gave to him

”katy don’t u dare apologize to him! that serve him right! now listen to me u pauper! my name is Betty,the most beautiful girl in this city, I don’t associate myself with poor and wreched people,.. I already know wat u wants to say but hold it there! if u want to date me, go and make money, and let me warn u! the next time u try stopping me again, u will have ur miserable self to blame! Katy let’s get out of here”, Betty said

”betty! Betty! Betty! how many times did I call u? it three o! u will regret all this u are doing! hmmmm! do not say I did not warn u”, Katy said

”i will not regret anything because I have my taste, if u want him why not go for him”, Betty said and walked away,..she got home and met her parents arguing and her younger sister rose was separating them

”wat is happening here? papa! mama! wat is it? Betty asked but got no response ”rose wat is happening? Betty asked her younger sister ”me I don’t know wat they are arguing about o, I just came in and met them arguing so I started separating them”, rose said

”papa wat is it na pls talk to me”, Betty asked her father who was seen sweating, due to the argument

”can u imagine ur mother here! telling me to allow u get married to one of those poor wreched hungry boys that always comes here to ask of ur hand in marriage! can u imagine that? over my dead body will I allow such! my beautiful daughter must marry a wealthy man, a man with cars and houses, a man who do import and export of goods, a very wealthy man! my daughter pls don’t mind ur mother here, go inside and rest”, Betty’s father said ”mama pls stop interfering in my life! I have told u several times that I am too beautiful to be living with a poor man”, Betty said and hiss

”help me tell her o”, Betty’s father said ”but papa! my teacher once told us that money is not everything”, rose chipped in

”will u shut up ur mouth there! our teacher once told us that money is not everything o! see ur mouth! big head! wat do u even know about marriage? oya now go inside and read ur books before I break that ur big head”, their father threatened, with fear rose ran away

”like father like daughter! Keep following ur father’s advise, I will be there when u will start crying, regretting everything! just keep waiting for importer and exporter! don’t use ur tongue to count ur teeth! had I known will always come atlast”,Betty’s mother said to Betty and angrily walked away

”my daughter will not regret anything! she will marry a rich man and make me her father proud”, Betty’s father said while betty was seen smiling

”papa can u imagine! as I was returning back from lecture with Katy, from nowhere one hungry looking guy just bumped on us and start asking me out! u trust me ur daughter na? I gave him two hot slaps and even told him the word of his life”, Betty said smiling

”yes that’s my daughter! u did the right thing! don’t mind them! I wonder if it is only the poor ones that lives in this city? don’t worry! a rich man must Mary u! my angel pls go and eat ur food before it gets cold”, Betty’s father said smiling ”ok papa”, Betty replied and walked away.

Kelvin walked into his friend Paul’s apartment and angrily sat on the couch ”guy how far? why is ur face like this? did u fight with anyone? Paul asked ”am beginning to get tired of this disguise of a thing! no woman wants to be with a poor guy! is like I will come out my real self”, kelvin complained

”wat happened? pls talk to me”, Paul asked ”there is this angel I saw today, the moment I saw her, I fell inlove with her and I guess her name is Betty because I heard her friend calling her that! do u know she slaps me twice simply because I approched her? she warned me sternly not to approach her again that I look very poor! me am tired o! am thinking of coming out my real self! am tired of disguising myself and at the end nothing”, kelvin said ”kelvin u can’t do that! u can’t bring ur real self out! don’t show them that u are a millionaire because if u do, hmmmm!! remember ur past experiences! I will advise u keep disguising urself, I assure u! one day ur true love will come! have u forgotten that is the same way I found my wife Kate! pls guy don’t give up”, Paul advised ”errrrm! ok no problem! so how is ur wife and son doing? kelvin asked

”they are fine o! my wife just went to her business place with my son”,Paul said ”ok let me be on my way now! I needs to go home and shower! just look at me, a millionaire putting on rag just to look for true love”, kelvin said smiling

”hahahaha!! it will be over soon”, Paul said ”ok take care! greet ur wife and son for me when they returned”, kelvin said ”ok I will”, Paul said ”bye”, kelvin said and walked away.
