Sasha got back home from work and she saw a different car parked in the car park at her house and she wondered who it could be.

She walked towards the main hall and heard her mum laughing out loud and she also heard the voice of a man. Right there, she knew who it was and she couldn’t hold back her excitement.

She walked to the hall and then she saw the man who was slowly stealing her mum’s heart away.

“Hi mum”, she said, grinning.

“Sasha, you’re home early today”, she said to her.

“Yeah. There wasn’t much to do at work today”, she said to her.

“Oh okay. Sasha this is Andre. Andre this is Sasha, my first daughter”, she said and Andre got up and pulled Sasha in for a hug. Sasha was surprised but she hugged back.

“Nice to meet you”, she said to him and he pulled back and smiled. “Nice to meet you too! Your mum has said a lot about you”, he said to her and he took his seat.

“Oh I see. I hope they’re good things”, Sasha said, grinning.

“Amazing things”, he said to her.

“Great!”.

“I’ll leave you two now. Nice to meet you again Andre”, she said, smiling.

“Mum, I’ll see you later”, she said, winking at her and she left.

Sasha was in her room, going through her office reports when her mum walked in and she was grinning so much.

“Oh my God. This man has really got you. You’re smiling so wide, your lips might tear”, she said, laughing.

“So what do you think of him?” Her mum asked, sitting by her.

“Wait, are you two dating now?”

“Yeah”, she said, blushing.

“Aww, mum. I’m so happy you. Really really happy”.

“Thank you Sash. So what do you think of him?”

“I know he’s the best for you”, Sasha said, wiggling her brows.

“How do you know that?”

“Uhh. According to our investigation, he’s the best fit for you”.

“You stalked him?” She asked and Sasha nodded.

“We had to be sure of who he was before giving you away”, she said and her mum laughed.

“Sometimes I forget the kind of kids I gave birth to”.

“The best and we are in this with you”.

“Thank you”.

“So how did you two meet? Scratch that. I know he’s your ex, so you definitely met a long time ago. But what happened before you started talking again?”

“We’ve actually been in contact for a while now. But just as friends. His wife died like 3 years ago and I didn’t want to just step in like that. And she was my friend too. So I think we were just trying to honor her by keeping it platonic till your dad called me that day and said really mean things to me. Andre called me that same day and as we were talking, I told him about it and he decided to make me feel better by asking me out for lunch. So we went for lunch and seeing each other and talking, brought a whole lot of memories and we were really happy as we enjoyed our company. So we kept meeting for lunch, having late night calls and then we admitted our feelings for each other. He asked me out and yeah, that’s how it’s been going”.

“Aww. I’m so freaking happy. You deserve the best mum”, she said, hugging her mum and broke out in tears.

“Sasha, is that tears of joy or is something else going on?” Her mum said, breaking the hug.

“It’s mixed”, she said, laughing and crying at the same time.

“I’m happy for you mum. Really happy. And I’m happy for Lilian and Ralph. Happy for Alicia and her new man. Happy for Rachel and her her long term relationship and I’m just happy for everyone”, she said, crying.

“Sash. What’s going on?”

“I don’t know where I went wrong with this whole love thing but I can’t keep a man mum. You warned me about my attitude some time ago and I didn’t listen and now it’s messing up everything I have”.

“Did something happen with Ross?” Her mum asked.

“Yeah”, she said, nodding and she told her mum everything.

“And now he’s not speaking to me”.

“Hmm. I know you went too far with the shoe but if he’s going to act this way because of something like this, then he doesn’t deserve you”.

“No, mum don’t side with me on this. I know I’m wrong. You don’t have to side with me to make me feel better”.

“I’m not siding with you. You should really learn to keep your hands to yourself and not throw things at people. That is for sure. But in this case, you’re both in the wrong. He has the right to be angry that you threw a shoe at his sister and got her hurt. But if he really did care about you and your relationship, he should hear you out and listen to your apology”.

“You think?”

“Yeah and Sasha. I also think that you should take a break and work on yourself first before getting attached to someone else. Maybe this is a way to get you to see that you don’t need a relationship now. You need help and you need God too. I think it’s time you start praying to God to help you to heal and to help you to be a better person”.

“Hmm. Yeah. I know that. I have an appointment with a therapist tomorrow”.

“Really?”

“That’s amazing. I’m glad you’re doing this”.

“I’ll be going with Ralph though. I have to talk about Philip and all that and I can’t do it alone. So he’s agreed to go with me”.

“That’s amazing. You really have the best friends ever and I know that you’ll definitely have the best man too”, her mum said and she hugged her mum.

“Thank you mum. I know I’ve been a handful to handle but you’ve never given up on me”.

“I’m your mum and I can never give up on you. I’ve not even given up on Sally”, she said and they both laughed.

They talked for a while and then her mum left.

The following day, Sasha3 arrived at the therapy center and she was about to call Ralph but then she saw the he was already there and he wasn’t alone.

He was with Lilian, Alicia and Rachel.

Sasha got off her car and was surprised to see them.

“What are you all doing here?” She asked.

“Looks like someone isn’t happy to see us”, Alicia said to her and she chuckled.

“Of course I am. I’m just surprised that you’re all here”.

“You’re finally ready to seek help and heal Sasha. We want to be there for you through out your journey”, Rachel said, holding her hands.

“Will it be allowed for them to be in there with me?” Sasha asked Ralph.

“I don’t know”, he said, shrugging.

“We’re not going in there with you. You need your personal space to relax and talk. We’ll all sit outside and be there for you if you need us or can’t go through with it”, Lilian said.

“Uh but Ralph is going in with me. Right?” She asked and he looked away.

“Ralph! You said you’ll be my support system”.

“Yeah. But I’ll be outside too waiting for you. I said that to get you to come and you need to feel free to talk to whoever is there and open up in a way you’ve not done with me or anyone. Trust me Sasha, it’s for the best”, he said to her.

“You’re a strong woman Sasha and it’s strong women who seek help when they need it. This is you being strong. So go in and display your strength”, Lilian said to her and she started tearing up.

“Aww, you’re such a cry baby”, Alicia said, hugging her and they all hugged her.

“You’re the best”, Sasha said to them.

“I think we should go now before the appointment gets canceled”, Ralph said and they all went inside the clinic.

They sat at the reception and Sasha walked in to see her therapist.

“Hi. You must be Sasha Adams”, a lady in her mid 30s said, stretching out her hand for a handshake.

“Yeah. I am”, Sasha said, shaking her hand and she took her seat.

“I’m Mavis Belcon”, she said to Sasha and she laughed.

“Mavis Beacon? As in the typing game?”

“Oh no”, the woman said, laughing.

“I know I know, I was just trying to crack a joke”, Sasha said.

“Mmm, I love the spirit already. You’re one of the few who’s done that and it’s a good start for us”.

“Oh really?”

“Yeah. So I’ll need you to fill this form and sign and then we can get down to business”, she said, handing a form to Sasha.

Sasha took her time to read the form and fill it. She signed it and handed it over to Mavis.

The session began and Mavis took her time to get to know Sasha. Sasha was also enjoying the session till it ended.

“It’s over? We’ve not even talked about what brought me here ” Sasha said to her.

“It’s just the introductory part. We’ll continue on your next appointment which will be this Friday”.We

“Friday is too far. Can’t we meet tomorrow?” Sasha asked.

“I wish we could but I’m fully booked tomorrow”.

“Mmm, okay. Friday then. Thank you for today”, Sasha said, getting on her feet.

“Thank you too. I’ll see you on Friday”, she said and Sasha left.

When she got out, her friends were surprised to see a smile on her face.

“Wow. It seems it went well”, Rachel said and she nodded.

“Yes!!” Ralph exclaimed and they all laughed.

“Now, let’s get back to work. This can’t happen again. We can’t all be absent from work at the same time” Sasha said to them.

“Ai ai captain”, Alicia said.

“I’ll see you all later”, Rachel said, pecking Sasha and she left. Alicia joined Sasha in her car and Lilian joined Ralph and they all left for work.

When Sasha got home, she saw Ross’ car parked in her drive way.

“You got to be kidding me”, she said to herself as she got off her car.

“Ross? What are you where?” She asked.

“I’m here to see you”, he said to her.
