MARTIN’S WEDDING DRAMA

< Third person point of view>

On the wedding day, Claudia was dressed at Sarah’s place Including her makeup, hair style and all that stuff. She felt tense up. For some unexplained reason, she had a premonition. “Something is definitely wrong somewhere, ” she said to herself.

Sarah tried to calm her, “Okay, okay, Claudia, you need to relax… Can you do that for me?”

It was left with only twenty minutes for the wedding to begin; she was nervous just like the first time she went on a date with Martin.

she said to Sarah, “I just need my grandmother’s necklace to calm down. “The two sisters (Sarah and Manila) looked at her wide-eyed. “Uh, Claudia…about that.”

(Five minutes later)

They searched the entire room but could not find the necklace.

“What do you mean you can’t find my necklace! I can’t get married without it. It’s my lucky charm. No way.

“Look,” Claudia, Sarah, said, “everyone’s has the program. It’s about to start.

My brother Martin would be waiting in the church and he would be just as nervous as you. Do you really want to forfeit this wedding because of a necklace?”

She shook her head.

“Good, because if you don’t marry him, I know plenty of women who will.”

When Sarah said, “Good, because if you don’t marry him, I know plenty of women who will,” Claudia’s fears increased. She had a hunch Sarah was up to something or was she simply paranoid? Claudia knew Sarah never like her, and the idea that her brother was getting married to her saddened her, despite her façade.

Could the lost necklace be taken by her? It was an open secret that she loved her brother. “Was she jealous?

Claudia was getting married to her “lover? “Claudia knew she had not been particularly a good girl and Sarah was right for not liking her.

“Relax, Claudia, take this cocktail-de- Fruit and refresh yourself.”

Sarah offered her the juice and left the room saying, “Excuse me for a minute, I want to attend to the ladies.”

A wicked smile curled Sarah’s lips. She knew what the drink would do to Claudia.

Boarding a taxi she headed towards the Baptist church where she knew his brother will be waiting for them. What was she up to?

When she reached the church, all eyes were turned on her. They were expecting to see her with Claudia and the rest of her families. Her parents pulled her over and asked, “Sarah, what happened? “She lied, “Claudia had taken so much drink the previous night so she was still sleeping.”

Her parents were confused.

Eventually a message was sent to the officiating pastor that the wedding couldn’t come on because the bride was drunk. The mark of disappointment and embarrassment was clearly visible on the pastor’s face. He went to the Pulpit to address the wedding guests, members of the church and the families, “My fellow brothers and sisters, we are very…”

Sarah was happy her plans were coming to fruition now. She said to herself, “I love my brother too much to allow him sign his death warrant in this whole deception called marriage.

The pastor continued with his announcement..”Sorry this wedding is postponed…erhh cancelled until……”

Then Sarah turned round and was shocked by what she saw.

Her sister Manilla dressed as a maid of honour, with Claudia, in her fabulous wedding gown, along with the rest of her family materialised in the Baptist Church through the doorway. Everyone was stunned, and the announcement was cut short. She nearly jumped out of her skin. Her plans had been foiled.
