AT EMETAMM’s HOUSE

”Emetamma, what sort of a lie was that?”

Nwanneka asked

”Papa, that was somehow harsh. Lying with

death” Olamma said

”Shut up all of you” Emetamma said to them

”Someone that has no place to stay, is she

alive?” Emetamma asked them

”What if she is alive?” Nwanneka asked

”What if she is not??” Emetamma asked as a

reply and just then Obinna walked in and stood

before his father

”Is Ada truly dead?” Obinna asked

”You must be stupid to ask me that question

”You all are now against me, but no problem”

Emetamma said and looked at Ugomma

”Go and get me my phone” He said to her and

she went

”To d what?” Nwanneka asked

”Why not leave me alone woman. Can’t I ask

for my phone anymore?” Emetamma asked

being tired of the questions. Ugomma walked

out with the phone and handed it to him. He

dialed a number and placed the phone on his

ear

”Aarrh!! Barrister Chuks” He called smiling

broadly

”It’s me, Emetamma, Emeka’s elder brother”

He said again

”Yes, Yes.. I want you to come to the village

soonest.” Emetamma requested

”When you come you will know Barrister” He

said laughing

”Don’t rush things Barrister, just come”

Emetamma said

”Ehee.. I will be waiting” He concluded and

hung up the call

”Who was that?” Nwanneka asked

”Didn’t you hear me call him Barrister Chuks?”

Emetamma asked angrily and hissed. He stood

up and went inside the house

”What is Papa up to Nne?” Obinna asked

”I don’t know my Son. I don’t know” She replied

and Obinna sat down..

BACK AT THE HOSPITAL

In Onochie’s Ward

Igwe, Lolo and Charles were seen in Onochie’s

ward, Lolo sat by the feet of Onochie. Charles

stood by his head side while Igwe sat on the

chair in the ward. Onochie was already awake

and sat up using the pillow to support his head.

Everywhere was initially quiet but Igwe broke

the silent

”What actually happened to you Onochie?” Igwe

asked

”You made I and your mother to almost die of

heart attack” Igwe added

”I’m sorry Dad” Onochie said

”Anyways, tell me, what happened to you” Igwe

asked of which Onochie don’t want to answer.

Luckily for him, Dike came in with Igwe’s phone

ringing. Igwe took it and picked up the call

”Hello, My good friend” Igwe said speaking

Igwe Okpalaugo

”I’m not really fine” Igwe said again

”I don’t actually know what happened to my

Son, he is in the hospital now. Although he is

fine now” Igwe said further

”Saint Peter’s Hospital” Igwe said

”Thank you very much.” Igwe said and hung up

the call.

”Eerh.. That was Igwe Okpalaugo” Igwe said

handing the phone over to Dike

”He is on his way here with his family” He

added and Onochie’s mind began to beat up.

”My Son, how are you feeling now?” Lolo asked

Onochie and he smiled at her

”Feeling better Mom” Onochie said

”Thank the gods. My enemies would have

laughed at me” Igwe said

”They have failed. Yes, their plans have failed”

Igwe added and everybody laughed. Few

minutes later, Doctor Mark walked in seeing

them smiling

”I can see that you all are happy in here” He

said bringing out out his Sethoscope trying to

check on Onochie. After the little check up, he

raised his face smiling

”You can take him home now. He is fine”

Doctor said and tried to leave

”But Doctor Mark, what really happened to my

Son?” Lolo asked

”Ooh, he just had a forceful mind skip and

shock which affected his brain a little. But he is

fine now” Mark said

”The Nurse will give you his file later” He

added

”Thank you very much Doctor” Igwe and Lolo

said shaking hands with him and Doctor Mark

left. Immediately Doctor Mark left, Igwe

Okpalaugo walked in with his family. Igwe

Ebubedike stood and greeted Okpalaugo.

Olaedo walked in and went straight to Onochie,

she kissed him on his fore head and began to

child rub his face.

”What happened to you sweetheart?” Olaedo

asked and Charles was a bit surprised

”Hope you are alright now. How did it happen

Honey?” So many questions did Olaedo ask at

the same time

”I am fine now dear” Onochie replied

”I should have been with you all the time but

you never accepted me” Olaedo said

”This wouldn’t have happened” Olaedo added

but Onochie didn’t reply He looked at her in

smiles. The two royal families smiled at every

word of their conversation but to the way

Onochie was flowing with Olaedo, Charles was

really surprised…

Uteme, the drunkard walked down the street

looking sad and unhappy..

”Haa!! Ute Ute, why is your face like this?” A

villager asked but Uteme didn’t reply. He

walked straight to Mama Oyoyo’s place and

drank. He opened up his anger fully

”May God punish poverty” Uteme began and

the bar people listened to him laughing

”Because the little girl had nobody to care for

her, that is why the Igwe banished that poor

girl” Uteme said and hissed

”Hmm.. Ute say what you know” A boy said

from behind

”Shut up, What do you know?” Ute asked and

everybody mocked the boy..
