I called Amaka and asked after her mother’s health. She said she was going to visit me the next day and sleep over. She prayed with me before ending the call. What more can I ask for?

THE NEXT DAY

Amaka came as promised, she came in the evening after work and she immediately sensed my worries. She asked what was wrong and I didn’t not hesitate to relate my fears. In her words, she said there’s nothing impossible for God to do.

“My dear, it is normal for you to worry but I want you to remember that there’s nothing that is impossible for God to do. Inasmuch as you’re ready to surrender yourself, he is ready to change you into a new creature. I know you do not have control over your body but there’s someone who can speak into your life. Talk to him, cry to him, relate your fears to him just the way you do to me. Talk to him as if he is visible. He is willing and ready to help you. Pray without ceasing. Cast your burdens on him, he is ready to give you rest. Place your yoke on him, he is ready to give you rest. Don’t blame yourself, okay.” She said and I really prayed to God and trust me, I felt relieved. She slept over and the next day which was a Saturday, I told her we should visit her mum.

We went to her mom and I we moved to tears seeing her in that condition. She still asked about her daughter’s wellbeing and advised her. I thought of my own mother and smiled sadly. The doctor called Amaka and I was left with her mom. I told her she was going to be fine. Amaka came in later and gave me a sad smile.

“What happened.” I asked her

“It’s nothing to worry about.” She said.

“Talk to me or am I that bad that you can’t talk to me.”

“No, not at all. I just don’t wanna bother you with our problems.” She said. I urged her to tell me what the problem is and she told me the doctor said they need 75,000 naira and she had little money on her and the month end is still far. She said even if she gets her salary, she receives 70,000 naira and she does contribute of 10,000 naira. The remaining 60,000 will not be enough and she still won’t be able to sort out other bills. I decided to see the doctor and he told me she’s in a critical condition. I called my Doctor Friend and told him everything. I told him I want her transferred to his family’s hospital and he told me they’ll send an ambulance immediately. I told the doctor treating her and they started clearing things. I told Amaka that I will do everything in my power to see that her mom will be well again. She thanked me with tears in her eyes. The ambulance came and she was wheeled into the bus. I told Amaka to enter into the car and we followed them.

When we got to the hospital, they were moving her into a private ward and they commenced treatment immediately.

We were in the hospital till around 10pm before we decided to go home and mind you, my body was already asking for it again. I got hope and took a cucumber and went unto the restroom to do my thing. It is an addiction and I can’t stop it.
