I’ve not been to work for 4 days now. I’m on 7 days leave. I’ll be resuming on Monday.

Staying at home has been good; different guys are always coming. When one leaves, another one comes in. I’ve been satisfying my urges.

I’m sitting in my bed since the last guy for today has left. Ian thinking about my life, about how I am going to end up. I am not happy with the way things are but my body system wouldn’t let me rest. I know I’m not gonna have a happy ending cos no man is ready to settle down with a real wh*re. I don’t have control over my body. I am fed up. I am really tired. I feel like killing myself but I can’t do that cos I’m the only child my mother has.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Iyanu, open this door”. That was what brought me out of my world of thoughts.

I rushed to see who was hitting my door like a maniac. Alas! It was my co worker and friend, Mary. Mtcheeewwwww. I left the door open for her to come in.

“Mary, wetin happen nah? Don’t you know what the door bell is used for? Why you come dey knock like say I owe you money . I don vex for where I Dey.

“No vex Padii mi.( I’m sorry, my friend). I rang the bell about three times that was I had to knock like that.

“How far, how was work today? I know you have something to say, this one you are looking like a bride ready to meet her groom.” I said teasingly.

“See, I’m tired, I want something chill.” She went to the fridge and took a pack of juice and a glass cup.

“Iyanu, please resume work. I can’t cope with that supervisor. You know he is the one that replaced you since you aren’t around. He’s always shouting like a madman, always complaining and he’s not even handsome, yet he’ll keep frowning like he lost his wife to cancer.” She said and I was already laughing.

“Leave that man alone. Don’t worry it’s remaining 3 days and I’ll resume, just a little more patience.” I said to her still laughing.

“Okay ooo.” She said rolling her eyes.

“So any update?” I asked her

“Hmmm…. No, yes, yes.” She said

“I Dey hear you.”

“They brought one guy yesterday, OMG, Iyanu, you need to see this guy. He’s smoking hot. Nah real fire. The chairman came yesterday and announced him as the new Managing Director since he’s going to retire. He’s the Chairman’s son. This guy is so hot. His appearance alone is bad and when he spoke, jeezz, I almost fainted.” She said dramatically. She kept on talking about the guy and I was watching her.

“E don do you. (It’s okay). This one you are shouting ehn, you and your exaggeration ehn. No qualms. I go see am on Monday. (I’ll see him on Monday). I concluded.

“Chairman asked of you oh. He was annoyed that he wasn’t notified before you went for your leave.” She said.

“That man ehn. If I tell him, he won’t let me go and he doesn’t know our body system needs rest.” I said with an eye roll.

“You know, when the man like you, you won’t rest. He’ll also call you to help him with different works.” She said and that’s the truth

“Babes, make I Dey move. Amaka day make I greet you say she go come see you tomorrow.She Dey go hospital go see her mama. (Babes, let me start going. Amaka sent her greetings and said she’ll come see you tomorrow. She’s been going to the hospital to see her mother.)

“No problem, let me see you off.” I said and saw her off before going back to my room.

Amaka is the only true friend I have. She has been really supportive. She prays for me and prays with me. She usually advice me and tells me to be strong. Although, she’s a junior worker, l love her so much and I can’t trade her for anything. The rest of my friends are my friends either for gossip or partying or what they want to get from me. I even plan to visit her mom. I made a mental note to give her a call once I get to my room.
