Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 5

I opened my already light eyes and found myself stuck in a tall rectangular glass which contained water which filled up to my shoulder level just leaving my head open. I was handcuffed and my legs were tied with chains. I looked around my new environment and I saw tens of white scientists pacing around with different case notes and others busy with other experiments. None were aware that I was awake. I wondered how I got here and memories rushed to my cerebrum. We got hit by a vehicle……I got out and fought……I got hit by a tranquilizer…….the van explo…..” I broke down into tears.

This is all my fault, if only I never saved Belinda…..if only I stopped the guy with the video…..if only I wasn’t ignorant…..if only I wasn’t self centered and selfish…..if only I was cautious…..this wouldn’t have happened.

The consequences of my actions took the last loved ones I had. I dipped my head into the water I was in, wanting to kill myself.

“No beforehand I die those who took my loved ones must die” I thought to myself as I removed my head from the water breathing heavily. I first have to get myself out. I tried sending electricity to burn the cuffs but I got electrocuted. I am so stupid the water conducts electricity which distributes the current through out making my whole body electrified.

“Woken up Mr Mark” I heard a voice say out loud. I looked to see who spoke. A man in his mid fifties, with white smooth and we’ll combed hair. He wore a pair of tinted glasses which gave him a cool and nerdy look. He wore a black trousers with a blue stripped shirt with a blue tie accompaning it. He wore a white lab coat on top. He looked real good for a nerdy scientists.

“Stop assessing me” he snapped me out of my thoughts.

“Where am I”

“California” he replied

“Wow so California is in ibadan” I asked with a little humor.

“Stop talking childishly” he rebuked

“How long was I out” I asked wondering how come I got to America so fast.

“Ten hours”

“Shit that tranquilizer really knocked me out” I mumbled. “What do you want from me” I asked staring with a Stern look.

“We need your very powerful voltage of electricity to power Aftroller” he said going straight to the point.

“What’s that? I have never heard of it” I asked.

“It’s a new revolutionary machine created by Nerd lab” he replies feeling good with himself.

Good name for the lab as I looked around and observed they all look nerdy.

“What does the machine do” I further questioned.

“You don’t need to know”

I laughed” You expect me to power a machine I know nothing about”

” It’s a machine created to create radio waves if heard or felt by humans automatically controls their mind. If the electricity powered is enough, it spans a whole continent. We have tried to use different prolific batteries like lithium and the rest. But none span an acre of land. So we need a continuous and very high voltage of electricity to keep it running till it spans the whole of the desired location.

“Wow that’s terrific. So where do you plan on using it”

“That’s confidential”

“Fine then i am sure you found another source” I added with a mischievous smirk.

“Even if we don’t tell you we can still compel you to do our wish”

“How?” I asked.

“Your mum”……..
