I woke up in the hospital three days later with my housemaid beside me. She looks so happy to see me awake. She told me she brought me to the hospital when Kanmi left me alone to fend for myself after beating me. She had to bring me to my place of work so I can get treated better there.

Shortly after Esther enter and she smiled when she saw me awake but she had to blink back her tears when she realized my position. I know I probably look like a rag at that moment for Esther to be that emotional. Sumbo my maid gave me a mirror and I couldn’t believe what I saw myself. I had to open my mouth to confirm if the owner of the face is really me.

I have a big bandage on my forehead and my eyebag is purplish and my face is very pale. Thank God I sent my mom out of the country at the moment I won’t want her to see me like this. But everything will be okay I told myself and I regret the day I met Kanmi I wish that day never happened but there’s nothing I can do that’s my fate.

Esther told me she called Primo and that’s like some kind of trouble for me cause I don’t want this to become something big at all. Primo may decide to arrest Kanmi for what he did to me but I don’t want that I’ll just leave Kanmi over to God to judge him.

But Primo isn’t having any of it he was More angry at me than he is at Kanmi but I still stood my ground and I prevent him from doing anything disastrous about the matter, even Esther couldn’t believe what she is hearing from me.

“ he cheated on you Bolanle and made you like this why are you being so stubborn? ” Esther yelled out at me looking very frustrated.

“ drop that matter Esther, someone that is capable of aborting a pregnancy she wanted so much what do you think he can’t do? ” Primo said and I had to blink my eyes twice and use my hand to clean my ears to make sure I’m not hearing wrong.

“ which pregnancy? ” I asked with my heart pounding fast and loud. Esther shot Primo a cold stare and Primo rub his head knowing he split the wrong milk.

“ it’s nothing ” Primo said looking away from me, he only do that when he is guilty about something.

“ Primo look at me and answer! ” I yelled out with all my strength. Esther sigh before coming to the rescue. Turn out baby jay was not a miscarriage but abortion, Kanmi tricked me on my birthday and abort my pregnancy against my wish, the baby I wanted so much with all my might.

And that’s not only the case, the drug he used for me then didn’t only abort my baby but destroyed a part of my womb and that’s why my womb is not capable of holding a baby and that’s why I ended up getting miscarriage on my second pregnancy. And because the miscarriage was severe I can’t get pregnant for a while. So all the miseries in my life happened because of the man I fell in love with and trusted so much.

But I’m not angry at Kanmi, I’m just angry at Esther and Primo for keeping it from me all these while when they know what I’m passing through in the hands of this same man. Love or no love if I knew about this earlier I would have walked out of the marriage before the fire burn me to this extent I would have but they decided to keep it away from me under the guise of they don’t want to ruin my home.

Both of them are just so wicked too wicked, now I’m all alone without a child but the man who made me like this just impregnate someone as he is expecting a child now but it’s okay God is there he will do it for me too.

“ get out ” I said to both Primo and Esther.

“ what? ” Primo said but I don’t want to repeat myself again cause my throat hurts but I will do this time louder.

“ get out!! ”

They both walk out feeling guilty about what they both did to me I just can’t believe it but Kanmi doesn’t have a soul he is a devil. Yes a devil he is not even feeling guilty about everything but why marry me if he knew he is going to make my life a living hell?

I stop Esther from treating me and I request for another doctor I can’t trust someone who keep so much from me she is more wicked than Kanmi and I refuse to see Primo too. Their appearance makes me sick as hell and immediately I got better I return to my mother’s house and i did some sort of cleaning before going to kanmi’s house to pack my things.

Sumbo volunteer to follow me but I told her it’s okay but she said she can’t keep living in that house cause memories of what happened that night keep haunting her. I agreed actually, she already offend Kanmi by taking me to the hospital and I don’t want to imagine what he will do to her later.

We moved together to my mom’s house and I gave her a room there. Getting closer to her I found out that she is smart and bright girl that want to become a lawyer but she wasn’t chanced to do so because of money. I asked her why she want to become a lawyer and she told me that one of her family was sentenced to ten years imprisonment because they couldn’t afford a lawyer even though the person was innocent.

I remember I also wanted to become a lawyer then but the university I went to changed my destiny lol. They gave me primary education studies lol I still can’t forget that change in my life. She told me she would like to further her education and that’s why she is working as a maid to save.

After thinking about it, after all she is my life saver I enrolled her in a tutorial, not far to my mom’s house. And she passed her o level in flying colors. So I registered her for jamb too which she passed too.

During this time Kanmi never called me or look for me at all, I heard he got married to favour and her parents didn’t attend the wedding.

By the time sumbo gained admission I already made up my mind to join my mum in UK at least to take my mind off things until something big happened
