Posing As An Expert (Part 2)

# WHOOOOSHHHH!

The sound of wind whizzing through the air, tugging on the robes of Silas. The menacing force of such rapid speed assaulted his face continuously to the point, he had to squint his eyes into narrow slits to see. The waters of the ocean parted as the Monster moved through, the sheer speed was enough to create a mini shockwave deterring the splashes of the water

T-this.. speed is too fast!!

Just what cultivation does this monster possesses? It’s truly astounding. One must know that even very few people can outmatch this speed from where he is from.

“Ohh right, Little one, what’s your name?” Silas asked with a contemplative look. Silas truly was too occupied beguiling the monster that it didn’t ask of it’s name to begin with but looking at it, if he had asked then, the monster would have been skeptical during his posing and might even see through his facade, but now, was a different story, he could simply dump it on the fact that he had so many things to think about across the ages that he had forgotten the monster’s name, after all, he would be depending on the monster in the future and a little bit of information on it won’t hurt in the slightest, it would even further strengthen his grip on it.

The Monster was slightly shocked, hints of doubts surfaced in it’s eye though it was imperceptible, it quickly hid it. Honestly, the monster still held doubts of Silas’s identify, as a savage monster that has lived in this ocean for quite some time, it will indeed be a waste of it’s life if it couldn’t discern this much. It only feigned absolute submission partly because it couldn’t sense the spiritual aura of the young man yet, that could only mean, it’s either the young man before it was truly too powerful for a tiny monster like itself to even sense his aura and some expert are capable of concealing their auras if they want and partly because, as a monster, it had to tread cautiously to survive if not, if it’s conjectures was indeed wrong and it turned out, the young man was an expert, then forget killing it, even it’s entire clan would be eradicate under the furious might of an expert

but why would such an expert require his help?

The monster helplessly shook it’s head, the thoughts of an expert is not something he could fathom.

“My name is Bing Xing, master” Bing Xing replied respectfully.

“I see. Do you know why I didn’t remember your name?” Silas asked with a smile on his face

“I don’t know master” Bing Xing was puzzled too, it had thought, the man was just feigning as it’s master to get him to get across the ocean for some inexplicable reason.

“You see, for someone of my level, I have journeyed through countless places, fought countless humans and monsters alike. You get?” Silas spoke.

Not waiting for the reply of his own question, Silas continued, the disposition of a person that has seen through the ages of life and time was boldly written on his face, it was quite convincing with his words

“I have met so many people that I can’t just remember every single name as that is a trivial thing. As an expert, I have seen past through the ages and I don’t meddle in worldly affairs, as such, I didn’t remember your name” Silas had a forlorn expression.

Bing Xing nodded in approval, the words of the young man made perfect sense. To put this in an analogy, it’s like asking a man if he remembers the name of every person he had met in his life, even the man would be hard pressed to remember things like that, same thing with it’s master. Bing Xing sighed.

It seemed my master is truly unfathomable.

But then, a questioning look surfaced on it’s expression and it hesitated before it asked

“Master, why were you helpless in that boat earlier?” Bing Xing was indeed shocked speechless when it remembered the precarious situation it’s master was in and it had always wanted to clarify it’s doubt but it held itself until this moment.

“Well.. this is a form of tempering for me, my clan had to seal my cultivation so I can comprehend a certain technique and I would need to experience the life of a mortal” A faint tinge of sorrow and helplessness sounded from his tune. Silas had already prepared an answer for questions, he was posing as an expert so he had to see it through, if not, considering his lack of cultivation, Bing Xing could kill him countless times over if he doesn’t use his wits.

“Oh right, you know, where the Mana fruit is? And is there any dangerous situations in the place it is located?” Silas asked. Truthfully, he didn’t know much of the Mana fruit, so since he’s acting as the master of Bing Xing, it would have no choice but to spill out everything it knew, especially considering, it lived in the ocean,it should know a thing or two on the Mana fruit

“Y-you don’t know?!” Bing Xing exclaimed

“Enough. You can’t expect me to know every trivial things that goes around here” Silas spoke authoritative with a frown.

What’s wrong with this monster? Did something hit your head? Didn’t you hear when I said I’m trying to live like a mortal and gather experience? Shouldn’t that tell you, I don’t know much of the things that happens here?

Bing Xing came into realization. True, his master was just here to gather experience and worldly affairs doesn’t really have anything to do with him.

“I apologise. I must have misspoke, please don’t take it to heart. The Mana fruit is located deep in the centre of the ocean, that place is enshrouded in mist day and night, such that, even us, savage monsters can’t investigate that place thoroughly and it seemed a mysterious power is placed in there too. I don’t know the exact details yet but it seemed the teeming sharks brother’s are guarding that place from any intruder, the Mana tree blooms and springs forth a fruit every ten years, it’s certainly a treasure and the teeming sharks had decided to claim it for themselves this time, considering, it’s just three days before it’s bears another fruit again but the other powers won’t just let that happen, so I think, they want to host a tournament, the strongest power wins the fruit” Bing Xing went through all the details it knew, since the other party was gaining experience here and he must be terrifyingly powerful

“I see. It would be indeed troublesome to obtain it then” Silas frowned while rubbing his chin in a contemplative look. He had thought the Mana fruit would be located in a rather easy and simple terrain with less trouble.

It seems, not everything goes as plan.

“Master, you want to acquire the fruit too?” Bing Xing asked curiously. If it’s master wants to take the fruit, it wouldn’t have posed any problem if he had his cultivation but judging from what it has heard, his master is just like a mere mortal now except, he has an extremely powerful artifact. After coming to such thoughts, it nodded in realization, indeed, considering how his master’s clan had left him to roam the world, he must have some kind of life saving treasure or artifact, if not, his clan won’t be so stupid as to leave him just like that. It’s impossible.

“Indeed” Silas didn’t bother hiding it from Bing Xing since he might require it’s help later on.

Two days later, under the immense speed of Bing Xing, enshrouding mist had started to come into view when looked at from afar, It seemed like an abyss, the aura given off from the mist afar was indeed mysterious.

“That must be the location of the Mana fruit” Silas exclaimed in excitement, his eyes was burning with desire. After so much trouble, he had finally reached his destination, just a step away from him but it seemed if he isn’t careful, he might die before he even see the fruit.
