#Ali’s Story Continues#

*Bernice and I had an outstanding relationship on Campus before a misfortune befell me.

I had a call one day from my sister Zennab that my mum had taken ill and been admitted to the hospital.

Mum had a heart attack the previous night and was rushed to the hospital that very night.
It was such a deep blow to me which jorpadised my studies very much that day the news reached me.

I rushed home to visit mum with my junior sister, Zenabb at the hospital who was a shadow of herself.

I wept bitterly that faithful Saturday morning I visited my mum at the St. Dominic’s Hospital.

I spent close to two hours with my mum who managed to talk a bit,advising me on her sick bed.

”Ali, I want you to promise me that you’re take good care of your little sister Zenabb.

You know the two of you are all that I’ve got in this world. I want you to promise me that you’re use your meagre allawance to support her in her Senior High School if necessary.

I promised her that I would help Zenabb complete her Senior High successfully and even support her to continue to any higher institution after she had pass through her programme successfully.

Mum thanked me a lot for admitting to accept responsibility as the care taker of my kid sister, Zenabb who happens to be the only sister I’ve got biologically in this world before my other half sisters in the family.

I knew I had to accept Zenabb as my responsibility because my dad’s work had broken down which made him incapable of such position.
Zenabb and I left the hospital at half past two in the evening and I left for College that same day.

The next day which was a Palm Sunday on the Catholic calender, I had a very shocking news of my entire life from my father.

He informed me that mum had passed away the very day I left the hospital at exactly five o’clock in the evening.

I wept like a baby whose dull had been taken from him as my dad was unraveling to me the whole scene amidst consoling me.

My day was mald that day and I refused eating that same day.
I remembered the good times I spent with my mum when she was alife.

I had a lot of memories to remember that day which reminded me of her till date.

I happened informing all my friends in my hall who were around because they asked why I was weeping like a kid.

I had a lot of sympathizers that day because my story reached all and sundry even in the ladies’ Halls.

Bernice was called by my friend Simone who informed her of my bad news.

No sooner had the news reached her than we heard some loud knocks on the door. I looked as if the person wanted to break open the door.

Simone looked at me and we both knew who was knocking on the door.

Simone opened the door and she came rushing to me in tears like she was the one who had lost her mother.

Women could be so emotional most of the times when information which has reached them, concerns them.Guess who this lady was….
