DIANA'S POV

Idris: what!!!

Me: please honey. Please my love.

Idris: but I thought you said you have no uncle and aunts, no relatives to rely on when your dad was dead. How come they are just coming right now? Where were they when you needed them. Seriously Diana my love, you should better stay and forget all these rubbish.

Me: I tire o, could you believe that all this while I had an uncle in Ghana. Like seriously human beings can be so wicked. I have an uncle all this while and there I was, crying and suffering in pains.

Idris: so heartless a fellow. Please my love. Are you going to leave me and choose to go over there and stay with him? Remember my love, I am deeply in need of your companion. I need you by myside. Are you going to leave the one that love you and chossed to follow the one that hates you.

Idris statement got me. D--n, I am not even a better liar. And what kind of a boyfriend is he? The loving and trustful type. Like seriously, there’s noone like Idris and I felt bad lieing to him. I knew fully well and clear that noone, not any boy in Nigeria will buy that lie.

Me having an uncle, and he couldn’t come or call when my dad died but he is calling me to attend the funeral of his child, the lie is very lame na but Idris believed, not wanting a situation where It will be as if I am a terrible liar.

I need to step up the game, I need to spicy up the lie. I need to put more effort in it because I know as a mermaid, I will be lieing a lot.

Me: I know where you are heading to, didn’t wanna say this but I have to.

Idris: you know where I am heading to? Where.

Me: you still feel you aren’t protected right?

Idris: looked down yes and that’s why I need you around.

Me: there’s no need to be afraid.

Idris: why!!!
