Final Episode.

MR. EZE’S HOUSE 6:19 A.M
Someone knocks on the gate that early morning and El-malik through the peep-hole sees a Haggard woman covering her head and ears completely with a hair-tie, she was carrying a Big KJV Bible on her hand, she introduced herself as an Evangelist and asked after Barr. Ebere, El-malik went to inform his Boss and he told him to let her in.

Evangelist: Good day sir, Good day ma. May God bless this entire Household.

Mr. Eze: Good day ma, Amen.

Evangelist: I’m looking for Barr. Ebere . The Lord directed me here.

Barr. Ebere: I’m Barr. Ebere, I don’t think we’ve met before or have we?

Evangelist: No ma we’ve not, Ma you have some hidden dirty secrets , the Lord said you should confess to your entire Household, if not the Demons that instructed you to do those evil deeds will torture you this night.

Mr. Eze: Ebere, what evil deeds did you commit?

Ebuka: Mummy!

Barr. Ebere: I don’t know what she’s talking about oh, I didn’t do anything. I don’t have any confession to make.

Evangelist: Hmm! I’ve said my own, i’ve played my role and off I go. (She starts leaving).

Ebuka: Ma won’t you take something, even if it’s just a drink.

Evangelist: The Lord bless you all, i’ll be fine. No need for that (she exits).

Edward was in a police interrogation unit in Mushin. He was without shirts and singlet, he was bleeding but it seemed he was not ready to open up.

Interrogator 1: So you are not ready to open up?

Edward: No one sent me, i’m innocent.

Interrogator 2 : Let’s teach him a lesson (They carry a very hot plugged Electric iron and place it on his bare chest ).

Edward: Aargh (He winced in pain) ! Please remove it, remove it. My chest is burning.

Interrogator 1: Start talking.

Edward: Aargh! (with tears and anguish) It’s Eric Eze , he sent me to murder his brother so that he can take over his Business and property ,he also had an eye on his wife.

Interrogator 2: Hahaha!!! I been think say you strong. (They removed the pressing iron from his chest and they sent a report to the Eze’s family that their very own son is the culprit).

Mr. Eze:( serious countenance) I just got a report that, that Arrested Assassin said he was sent by Eric to murder Ebuka.

Ebuka: What! My own brother? God!

Barr. Ebere: I don’t think he’s the one. (Breathes hard).

Mr. Eze: He must be submitted to the police , I don’t give a shit that he’s my son. If he is the culprit, he must bear the full weight of the law.

Barr. Ebere: Ernest please nau, He’s our son oh.

11:32 Pm that same day, there is no Noise and the entire Household are fast asleep. Mr. Eze is snoring mildly beside his wife. Suddenly, Barr. Ebere screams.

Barr. Ebere: Ha! Aargh& Leave me, please oh (screaming) I will confess oh. I will confess. (Mr. Eze jumps up and sees his wife holding her head, crying).

Barr.Ebere: My head oh, Demons! The Demons are tormenting me, I will confess. Take me to the living room, if I don’t confess they would kill me. (Mr. Eze holds her and leads her to the living room, bewildered of her behaviour).

Ebuka: Mummy What is it?
Barr. Ebere: Yeh! I’m about to do it ,i want to confess oh. I will confess.

~~FLASH-BACK~~

3 days after Ebuka’s supposed Demise.

Barr. Ebere is sitting on her bed looking moody, her eyes are reddish showing she just cried. Eric suddenly enters her room looking frightened.

Eric: Mummy, I heard they’re about to do the finger-print analysis.

Barr. Ebere: Yes, so that I would know the true murderer of my son, though I suspect that Emilia.

Eric: Oh my God, mummy you want me to die. You want me to be arrested.

Barr. Ebere: Eric! What are you saying?

Eric: Mummy i’m telling you this because you’re the only one I can trust , I killed Ebuka mum. I killed him to take over his wife and property. I don’t regret killing him because he always got the best side of everything (Talks in a very low tone).

Barr. Ebere: What , Eric you killed your elder brother because of that lady . (weeps). That Lady bewitched the both of you. (starts slapping him amidst tears). You killed him ,you killed him !!

Eric: Mum calm down, please you’ve got to save me. I don’t trust the Assassin I contracted the murder to, maybe they would discover his finger-print and he would go ahead to implicate me. Mum you’ve got to save your only son, i’m the only son you have now.

Barr. Ebere: Eric i’m not happy with you at all, I’m not just happy. What do you suggest, how should I save you because I know they would surely conduct the finger-print analysis?

Eric: Mum ,since you hate the Ekun’s family , why don’t you meet the people conducting the test so that they would use Emilia’s finger-print as the one in the bullet, you can drug her and bribe the scientists to partake in the analysis. I don’t care about her life anymore, my life is at stake here.

Barr. Ebere: Good idea, that’s what i’ll do to pay back what Ekun did to me and our differences. We should try to hide this secret.

Eric: Yes mum, thank you Mum. Love you (He hugs her and his Hypertension ceases).

~~BACK TO PRESENT~~

Barr. Ebere: So that was how we manipulated the finger-print and I also bribed the Judge and Ezinne.

Ebuka: What! I hate you, I feel like killing you. You wanted my wife to die for my brother’s sin. D--n you mum, D--n you!

Mr. Eze: Ebere you are a witch, oh my God I married a witch and gave birth to a Demon as my second son.

Barr. Ebere: Please forgive me ,please forgive me my Husband. Ebuka my son please forgiive me (She kneels down with her amputated legs despite the pain it gave her and the Demons had stopped tormenting her).

Ebuka: I’m not your son.

Barr. Ebere: I promise to not cause any problem between you and Emilia when she leaves prison.

Ebuka: Her father has denied me marrying her because of you.

Barr. Ebere: I would follow you there to beg, please forgive me.

Ebuka: Because of that i’ve forgiven you.

Mr. Eze: I’ve also forgiven you.

Barr. Ebere: Thank you all. (she smiles).

EPILOGUE

Barr. Ebere , Mr. Eze and Ebuka went to the Ekun’s house, the next day and begged Mr. Ekun to allow Ebuka and Emilia live together. Mr. Ekun did not agree at first but after a lot of persuasion and when when he saw Ebere’s humility, he acquiesced, believing she had changed. Emilia was discharged and acquitted from prison that day and Eric was summoned from ESUT , he was taken to court two weeks later and was sentenced to 14 years in prison with hard labour for attempted Murder, Edward was sentenced to 11 years in prison with hard labour. Barr. Ebere begged Emilia and asked for her forgiveness which Emilia did and Ebuka and Emilia lived together as Husband and wife peacefully, no one disturbed their peace again. Edwin became a commercial farmer and dumped violence , he acquired a new identity in Ijebu-ode. Erica abandoned the country and joined her sister in Sierra-Leone. Though Ebere couldn’t ear without her Hearing-device she was still happy and used it for the rest of her life. Ekaete was also enrolled in an Adult school.
