The sun had well and truly set, and darkness had swept over the Island, but Kate wasn’t ready to head back to the Fire Temple just yet. She was content to spend time with Loki.

“We should go back”, Kate said eventually. She had no idea how much time had passed, but she knew it was getting late.

But, as they turned to walk down the path they had just taken, three shadows suddenly appeared before them. A shiver of familiarity raced down Kate’s spine when she la!d eyes on the three men.

She knew them. They had met before.

They were the three bandits that tried to attack her before.

And from the snarls and glares that the three bandits just gave them, they recognised them as well.

“You again!” Loki said tersely as he held Kate closer against his side. “Didn’t I kick your a-s hard enough last time?”

“You were lucky then”, the guy in the same bandana he wore before said, pulled out a large knife as he did so.

“You Fire Brand think you’re so hot”, another bandit said as he pulled out a sharpen weapon of his own. “We heard about the village. A Fire Brand probably did it”.

Kate was aghast and disgusted that they would make such an accusation.

“A true Fire Brand would never do such a thing!”.

The man only snorted. “Yeah right. Who else would do such a thing, hmm?”

“I see that you hold grudges against Fire Brands”, Loki said as a competitive smirk appeared on his lips. “How about I give you another reason to fear Fire Brands?”

The leader had a feral look in his eyes, his grin just as malacious. “Bring it”.

They then lunged forward toward them hell-bent on causing them pain. But, just as Loki appeared ready to call upon his Spelling Binding Circle to protect them, he stopped when something, or rather someone with long red hair appeared right in front of him, in his hand a roaring hot fire Lance.

It was Levi!

Digging his feet into the sandy soil, Levi sprung forward, heading directly for the bandits, who hadn’t had enough time to fully react. He swung his Lance over his head before abruptly slamming it into the ground, the blade causing the soil to crack and fissure from the force.

“Ashes in the wind- Wildfire Trace!”

The ground underneath the bandit’s feet erupted into heated flames, the force so powerful that it flung the three of them effortlessly into the air.

Wasting no time, Levi twirled the Fire Lance round in his hand before he abruptly sprung into the air, where he, in one fluid but unwordly fast sweep, struck all three bandits at once.

Levi then landed on the ground in a crouched position with a thump, immediately jumping to his feet and flicking his long hair over his shoulder as three bodies literally fell from the sky.

And as he turned around, a triumphant smirk sat on his lips, the three bandits unmoving on the ground. They didn’t appear to be dead, just unconscious.

“L-Levi?” Kate suttered from Loki’s side. She had known for years that Levi was indeed a great Fire Guard, but she had never truly seen him in action before. That was utterly amazing!

“Are you alright, Lady Kate?” Levi asked, his Lance flickering out in his hand.

“Ah, yes, I’m fine”, Kate replied while Loki whistled.

“Well, colour me impress”, he quipped.

Levi smirked at him before his expression turned dutiful and serious. “But what are you two doing out here?” he asked as the three of them stepped away from the now twitching bodies.
