Charles: ” What do you mean steal those recorders?”

Me:” I didn’t literally mean I will go and steal it, I meant we can have a way of disposing them.”

Charles:” You can’t get them, and besides I can’t let you get yourself into trouble because of me bro” he said patting me on my shoulder as I stood arm akimbo.

Me:” Charles and I can’t see you being used this way.” I replied him.

Charles:” Gabriel please just know anything I do is never my fault, I must surely do it, I can’t stop what am doing. Don’t be surprised if I blackmail you again.” He said to me as hot tears fell from his eyes.

Me:”Dont worry Charles, you won’t blackmail me again.” I said to him.

Akpan:” Hmm, Charles may God vindicate you” he said

Me:” Sorry who is the lab prefect?” I suddenly asked as an idea popped into my head.

Akpan: ” Senior Mark.”

Me:” Which Mark?” I asked.

Akpan:” The one that plays football with us, Mark the left winger” Akpan said again and I smiled to myself. ” Then I think it wouldn’t be so difficult” I thought to myself and adjusted my glasses.

Me:” We are cool now right?” I spoke this time to Charles, he smiled at me and drew closer to me, he opened his hand and I hugged him.

Charles:” Not ever in my life have I seen a brother like you.” He said while I smile and patted his back.

Akpan:” Hey guys what about me?” He asked probably out of jealousy. I and Charles walked up to him and we also hugged him.

Charles:” Gabriel, I will try my best not to implicate you again, please Dont say anything about you and Joy when I and Sandra are in class please.” He said

Me:” Why?”

Charles:” Because if Sandra is in class, I will have to implicate you.” He replied.

Me:” Why can’t Sandra implicate me herself, she also has a recorder.”

Charles:” Her recorder is primarily meant to be used to implicate me in case her recorder is able to record you and mine didn’t, then they will conclude I am playing foul play.”

Me:” what if Sandra recorder records me in a kind of situation where yours cant , as in when you are far away from me?”

Charles:” Then she would explain to Mrs Jagun.” Charles said while I nodded.

Me:” But Charles, the two times you implicated me, Sandra wasn’t with us.” I told him.

Charles:” Gabi if am able to implicate the girl I love, Kemi then you should agree with me that I should be able to implicate anyone even without Sandra being there” he said while I nodded.

Charles:” But from now onward, I promise not to implicate you on my own again but the case might be different if Sandra is around us” he said while I nodded.

Akpan:” Then Gabriel, mind your mouth when you are around Sandra” Akpan said while I placed my hand on my lips to signify that I won’t say anything again.

Me:”Dont worry Charles, you will be fine, all this will soon stop.”

Charles:”I pray so” he replied.

Akpan:” I have regained my lost friend ” Akpan said and gave Charles a friendly punch.

Charles:” I miss you brother” he said and hugged Akpan again, I stood there smiling and clapping my hand. Akpan:”Hugine is an angel” he said.

Charles:” Dont you know before, even the bible told us about him, Angel Gabriel” Charles added while I smiled and joined the hug.

======> Eunice:” wait, you mean you will do that?”

Me:”Yeah sis, I think that is the only way to set him free”

Eunice:” The plan is good but what if it backfires?”

Me:” Am ready to face the consequence sis” I told her.

Eunice:” But is Charles even worth doing this for?” She asked while I fell into my bed.

Me:” Eunice, Charles is not the kind of guy you see him as,he is a guy that got his hands and legs tied. There is nothing Charles can do, I would do the same if I was in his shoes, likewise you.”

Eunice:” Hmmm, Mrs Jagun is really evil, what does this Sandra parent even do for her?”

Me:” I Dont know, the thing surprise me too.” I said to her.

Eunice:” But bro be careful, remember that I always got your back. Will you tell mum about your plan?”

Me:”Tell Fireeee, You know she won’t allow me play such dangerous game. ” I said to her while she nodded.

Eunice:”But be careful love, its a dangerous game.” she told me again while I nodded and adjusted my glasses.

Me:”Eunice do you remember what happened to my eyes?”

Eunice:” I only remember that it happened during your karate training.”

Me:”Yeah, it happened as a result of another dangerous game” I said while she smiled.

I removed the the memory card from the audio recorder and put it into my phone after removing the one in my phone. The discussion in the principal al office was the only record in it. She had probably deleted all the content, maybe it was because of the memory capability, it was only 2Gb. I lied on my bed and thought about the dangerous game am about to play, it would be the best if it worked out my way but will surely put an end to my education if it didn’t work. But anyways first thing first, I need to talk to the lab prefect Mark. I also remembered what the proprietor said, that he will come back and get to the root of the matters, but I can’t just sit and do nothing.

==> The next day assembly was fun, we sang and danced, there was so much fun in the air, and Master Theophilus increased the fun when he stepped on the platform.

Master Theo:” Good morning students”

Students:”Good morning sir.” We all replied him.

Master Theophilius:” OK, Fisher’s college has invited us for a match, this will be the 3rd time we will be playing them, I want us to put effort in this Match because we lost our two games with them, please guys, let make our school proud, let’s at least win or draw this one” he said while we the boys roared in happiness.

Master Theophilus:” Our teachers likewise their teachers will be there, please let not put them to shame. The match will be held in the state field, the match is holding tomorrow by 2pm after school, tomorrow is Friday and I expect all of you to be at the field after school, both the boys and the girls. Come cheer your guys up.” He concluded and we clapped for him again. He then got down the platform and we were also ordered to match to our class. As I got to class, I still pretended to be in bad terms with Charles, we can’t tell who is who.

===> it was break time, I concluded all what I was to do and ran off in search of Mark, he was just coming out of his class when I saw him.

Me:” Senior Mark.” I greeted while he smiled at me, one would take him as my junior due to his tiny statue.

Mark:”My striker” he called back as he placed his hand across my shoulder.

Mark:” I always wished I should be able to play like you o”

Me:”I should be the one making that wish” I told him while he smiled.

Me:” senior Mark, I heard you are the lab prefect”

Mark:” Yes, I hope am safe?” He asked smiling.

Me:” Yes you are senior.”

Me:” So that mean you have the lab keys”

Mark:” Yes, I have one, the principal got one and Mrs Jagun also” he said while I smiled.

Me:” You like Mrs Jagun right?”

Mark:” Who likes her in this school?” He asked me smiling.

Me:” senior” I suddenly called.

Mark:” yes bro”

Me:”Have you ever come across series of recorders before in the lab?” I asked him and adjusted my glasses.
