Principal:” But Charles, you told us that he hugged Joy?” The principal asked frowning at Charles.

Charles:” Yes sir, he hugged Joy, he is ly…”

Me:” You have any evidence for that?” I asked him while he stood staring at me.

Principal:” OK call me Sandra”

Charles:” She isn’t in school yet sir” Charles replied .

Principal:” OK you guys should come back during break with Sandra ” he said dismissing us with his hand while I smiled, everything is going as I wanted. Charles walked out while I followed him, he tried increasing his pace but I jogged until I got to him.

Me:” You are truly not ashamed of yourself” I said to him smiling but he didn’t reply.

Me:” Just wait, we shall see where all this will end” I said and jogged away to my class. Joy was already in class, she was looking worried.

Joy:” What were you doing in the principal’s office?” She asked quietly as she noticed Charles was also in class.

Me:” Just something little I can solve” I replied her but she shaked her head in disagreement.

Joy:” tell me, what is it?” She asked again while I fell in as I explained the situation to her. I hadn’t finished explaining when she pushed me from her front , like a flash she went towards Charles and landed him a hot slap.

Joy:” You are a very stupid b-----d, an ingrate.” She said to Charles but he didn’t reply as he smiled wickedly and also rose his hand to punch joy but I came into the way and it landed on my face. Although the punch was hot, but I pretended I didn’t feel it.

Me:” Not only are you stupid, you are also a weakling, so you mean you had wanted to punch her?” I asked him calmly.

Charles:” please just leave the way, she can’t go Scott free after slapping me” he said while I shifted away smiling thinking he won’t do anything but to my surprise, he slapped Joy. Joy held her left cheek with her left hand, and rose and right hand to slap him again but I held her and almost immediately I delivered a hot punch to Charles’s face, the punch pushed him to the ground.

Me:”And you can’t punch me and go Scott free.” I replied him as I bent close to him.

Joy:” leave him alone” she said drawing me away from his side.

Joy:”So what do you plan doing now?” She asked as we sat on her desk, Charles was still holding his face in pain, the only thing that baffles me was that his specks did not break. I turned to joy and explained my plans to her.

Joy:”I pray it works” she replied as the bell rang for assembly, by now students were in the class, Some were with Charles asking of what happened to him as they saw his stained cloth and his swelled cheeks but he didn’t give a reply, I myself pretended as if I knew nothing of what was happening.

===> Me:”Are you with any recorder?” I asked Sandra calmly while she turned to be with suspicious eyes, it was after the assembly period, Sandra came a bit late today, she came during the assembly period but she wasn’t punished.

Sandra:”Why are you asking that stupid question?” She asked harshly while I smiled.

Me:”Sandra, I Dont know how to say this but..” I stopped.

Sandra:”Say what?” She asked, this time, she was a bit calm.

Me:”I can’t say it because you might be with a recorder, and I Dont want..”

Sandra:”Shhhh” she said as she placed one hand on my lips and used the other to bring out a recorder from her pocket, she off it and dropped it on the desk.

Me:”I just wanted to say I love you ” I said while her eyes opened in shock.

Me:”Yes, I really do. Ever since that day I helped you after you were beaten, I fell in love with you. The thing was that I didn’t know how to say it to you as I thought you won’t forgive me for all the embarrassment I have made you passed true” I said adjusting my glasses.

Sandra:”How do you expect me to believe that?” She asked me.

Me:”I Dont know what to do to make you believe, but I know I love you” I told her again.

Sandra:”then you must prove it” she said .

Me:”How?”

Sandra:”You must call Joy a b---h right here and now” she said while I smiled.

Me:”But Joy isn’t here with us”

Sandra:”Call her here then” she said while I smiled again as I signalled to Joy who was even staring at us to come.

Joy:”You called me” she said with a straight face.

Sandra:”You see, at last I won him” she told Joy .

Joy:” So was that why you called me b---h?” joy asked frowning.

Me:”And you are the real b---h” I said to her.

Joy:”Oh now am a b---h?” She asked me smiling.

Sandra:”Oh yes you are” Sandra answered her. “No Sandra, you are the real b---h” I thought to myself.

Joy:”OK, we shall see” she said and went away.

Sandra:”Wow, I can’t believe this, so you mean it?” She asked smiling while I nodded.

Sandra:”Have always loved you too gabi” she said as she wrapped her hands across my neck.

Me:” I love you more ” I said and pretended to be quiet, probably like I was thinking of something.

Sandra:”What is it?” She asked

Me:”Oh, nothing” I replied her

Sandra:”Tell me dear what is it?” She said holding my cheeks .

Me:”OK if you insist. Yesterday, before going to the school field, Joy purposely jumped on me and hugged me…..” I started as I explained everything to her including the part that Charles went to report me to the principal.

Sandra:”Oh no, Charles is too forward, I Dont know what is wrong with him.” Sandra said shaking her head in pity.

Me:”Please Sandra I want you to defend me by saying that it was you I hugged.” I said while she smiled.

Sandra:”I will do just that ” She said as she hugged me again, my eyes immediately got the recorder on the table and I took it, she didn’t notice as she was taken away by the hug. I finally broke the hug and quickly kept the recorder in my pocket. I turned to the rest of the class, almost all of them were smiling except for Joy, Akpan and Charles. Joy frown was to play along with the plan, Akpan was frowning because he thought I had betrayed Joy, and Charles was probably wondering what game I was playing this time.

=====> I walked alongside Sandra to the principal office, Charles was behind us , he was walking slowly.

Me:”Good afternoon sir and ma” I greeted the principal and Mrs Jagun humbly and they replied me.

Principal:”Sandra listen to this” he said as he put on the audio recorder, Charles was already with us now. Soon Akpan voice echoed from the recorder.

Mrs Jagun:”Sandy, do you know anything about it?” She asked smiling.

Sandra:”Yeah, I remembered this was what Akpan said yesterday when Gabriel hugged me” she said shocking Charles. Mrs Jagun and the Principal turned to Charles frowning.

Mrs Jagun:” you are very stupid for lying, go and kneel down in my office ” she told Charles and he obeyed as he went out with teary eyes, for once I pitied him, I didn’t see a bad boy in him, I saw a boy who was being forced to do what he doesn’t want to do. The tears dropped from his eyes as he went out.

Principal:”Sandra and Gabriel, we are sorry” he said smiling at us, Mrs Jagun was also smiling. Sandra held my hand and we both walked out from their office

Sandra:”I love you gabi” she said as we entered the class.

Me:”And I hate you Sandra” I said to her adjusting my glasses while she turned to me in surprise.

Sandra:”Did I hear you right?”

Me:”I said I hate you. I just used you to get myself freed” I told her smiling, she also smiled back.

Sandra:”it isn’t too late yet dear, I will just go and tell them it was a lie” she said as she made to go but her drew her hand back and brought out the audio recorder in my pocket, I saved the content and played it, all the discussion we had in the principal office replayed itself.

Me:”I got my evidence” I said to her as while she opened her mouth in shock and searched her pocket for the recorder which I was holding.
