Secondary - Season 1 - Episode 8

I walked slowly towards the biology lab, that was where Mrs Jagun was. I knocked slightly on the door before finally opening it when no response came, she was seated on a chair writing something in a long note, she raised her head slightly to see who it was that entered her office. She pointed on a small chair in front of me while I sat down. She then handed a small paper to me, I was about reading when she spoke.

Mrs Jagun:” Save yourself the stress of reading, that a paper containing the rules and regulations of this noble school, if you look well at number 18 there, you will see it boldly printed that it’s is prohibited to be involved in a love affair with any girl in this school and..”

Me:”But why are you telling me all this ma? ” I cut her short, this time she was angry as her hand stretched for her cane.

Mrs Jagun:” Never you, I repeat never you interrupt me again when am talking, let’s be the last time you try that” she said angrily.

Mrs Jagun:”Now before you interrupted, I won’t hesitate to make this school miserable for you if you break any of those rules, I promise. Now get out” she barked.

Me:” With all due respect ma’am, I think you are harassing me and …..”

Mrs Jagun:” Shut up and get out” she barked again

I removed my glasses and looked at her before leaving, I took the paper but later dumped it in a dustbin outside her office.
I walked towards the canteen and saw joy outside looking at the office, she breathed out when she finally saw me approaching.

Joy:”What did she say?” She asked immediately I came close enough to her, she was looking worried.

Me:”Don’t worry, everything is okay” I replied her forcing out a smile. She adjusted my shirt and shaked her head.

Joy:”Gabriel, nothing is ever fine after stepping into that office” she said again

Me:”OK, she said she would make this school miserable for me if I ever break any of the rules of this Academy, especially the one of love relationships” I said to her while her countenance changed.

Joy:” Yeah, she had specialized in fishing out those who involved themselves in relationships stuff and the likes, I had tried to avoid her all through my stay in this school, its like she seems to want me caught in the act, she had accused me many times to be dating some guys which were just my friends, so since then I had always stayed on my own, my parents are just managing to take care of us and I don’t want to dissapoint them, so I try my best not to offend her.” She said, now we were already sitting on a table in the canteen.

Me:” Joy,its time to get in trouble” I said shocking her.

Joy:” What do you mean?” She asked

Me:”Joy I love you, and I won’t mind getting in trouble for you, I l….” She placed her fingers on my lips.

Joy:”shhhh, I love you too, but am afraid” she said.

Me:” Don’t worry, Gabi is to the rescue, am here to protect you and stay by you now, trust me” I said while she turned to me laughing.

Joy:”Gabriel, you make me laugh, how can you protect me, which powers have you got In this school, pls dont make me laugh” she said while I smiled, I knew what I can do, am more dangerous than she thinks I am, “Don’t worry dear, watch as I protect you” I thought within me.

Me:” Do you mean Sandra does not date also? ” I asked while she signed.

Joy:” Sandra is a different case, she can do whatever she wants, she can turn all teachers against you if she want, no one questions her,she is an exception to all rules in this school” she explained while I nodded, this is the main root of corruption

The break was not yet over but I and joy decided to go back to class. We already had enough gist for one day. I was surprised when I saw Sandra sitting on i and joy desk. Joy walked towards her expecting her to get up since we were back from break but she did not, she adjusted herself and crossed her legs smiling.

Me:”Please, we want to sit down” I said gently

Sandra:” Please you guys can look for another chair, or better still, let joy find another sit and you can stay here” she replied absentmindedly.

Me:”No, no one is leaving, you have to get up from there and go back to your desk” I said sternly this time, some students were already surrounding us begging Sandra to get up.

Sandra:”Maybe you don’t want to s…..” She was saying when someone voice interrupted from behind.

Voice:”Will you stand up from there and go to your desk, spoilt brat” I turned and realized it was miss Linda, maybe she was passing by and heard our argument. I smiled as I watched Sandra got up uneasily frowning at miss Linda, I adjusted my glasses again.
