“I love you too” Cynthia replied and they embraced each other. Nath gradually kissed her with a hand on her stomach which made her quit the kiss giggling.


“Why are you touching my stomach?”

“To cover the baby’s eyes not to see what we did” Nath replied while Cynthia laughed in a loud voice. “I want him to become a Rev. Father”

“You are not serious!” Cynthia opposed. “Who are you even referring as him?”

“The baby nah”

“You try! Better use the word ‘her’ because she will be like me”

“You want someone who will help you in the kitchen, abi?” they laughed again.

Few minutes later, Nath became moody remembering what he did with Joyce. He felt guilty and wanted to tell Cynthia but just couldn’t do it in order to safe the happy moment.


“Honey, are you okay?” Cynthia asked.


“I’m.. I’m fine” Nath forced out a smile.

“No, you are not. Talk to me”

“Will you follow me to Joyce’s wedding tomorrow?”

“Why not! Is that why you are sad? We shall go together”

“Thanks” Nath forcefully smiled again.

Same night, Agatha was more than happy when the news got to her just like Cynthia. While Nath la!d on his bed feeling happy too but his phone rang again. He picked.


“I guess you were busy” Joyce’s voice sounded loud and clear on the phone.


“Yes, i’m sorry for that”

“Or were you with Cynthia?” Joyce asked but Nath kept quiet. “Is okay, are you coming tomorrow?”
“Yes”
“Thank you. Is good hearing your voice tonight”
“Yes…” both remained quiet for a long time before Joyce cut the call feeling rejected and disappointed. She la!d on her bed wondering how to let Nath know about the pregnancy and what his reaction would be. “What is my fate on this earth?” she concluded bitterly.
