“What happened?” I found myself asking as I remembered how well and sweet it was all going till he froze and moved away from me. I blamed myself for ever allowing him to touch me but I couldn’t deny the fact that I enjoyed every bit of it. It felt so right with him.
Different from whatever I had with James. “Maybe am just the one thinking he loves me. Maybe he really doesn’t” I mentally concluded. Taking off my heels, I shut my eyes and strongly wished I could be taken into the dreamland as fast as possible.


A raindrop hit the back of my neck and slid down underneath my collar. I shifted on the bed and groaned. It was a drizzling Saturday. I rubbed my eyes with the back of my palm and yawned.


I spread my legs on the bed widely and closed my eyes, thinking I would find some sleep again but the raindrops hitting me lightly from my opened windows didn’t allow it. I lazily stood up, closed my window and pulled down the curtain that were rolled up.


I yawned again and fell on the bed with a loud thud. It was then I realized I was still in the gown I had worn out the previous night for the dinner with Alex.


Yes. Alex. As his handsome face flashed across my mind again, every bit of what happened last night came rushing back to me. I searched for my phone and found it charging at the library side of my room. I had retrieved my sim some days ago and Alex had gotten me a new phone so that part was fixed already, just when I was about picking it up to check for the time.


A message came in and I eagerly opened it.

“Back off from Alex. HE.IS.MINE!”. I had barely swallowed the lumps in my throat when another one came in and hot pangs of fear whirled inside me. I went numb when I opened it and read: “Heed to my warning if you don’t want to be sorry for your silly butt0ckz. It won’t take me a minute to make you bathe in your own blood. BE WARNED!” “What?” I breathed out sharply, feeling my chest constricting with immense pain that left me grasping for air. I was dumbstruck! Somethings are too difficult to wrap your mind around and those messages were definitely part of those things.

Who the hell was threatening me?

” Sister Tola, Please kneel down, let the Lord bless you” The pastor said gently. ” Oya oya oya, let them pray for you please, the spirit of those threatening you will catch fire now now!” My mom said as she pushed me forward. I knelt down before him and closed my eyes.

I know you might be wondering what’s happening. When I received the messages the previous day, I ran to my mother and showed the content of the messages to her. Knowing the typical Mama Tola, she had started her drama with immediate effect. Calling all the angels scattered across the globe to fire whosoever the person threatening me was. She also had a vigil in the house, spraying anointing oil all over my body. I really didn’t buy the whole action and drama but my mother would not hear of it. She had called the pastor also to tell him that we would be coming to see him at his office after the service on Sunday. When she ended that call, she had asked me to invite Alex over to my house after church so we could inform him and also discuss what was happening. She believed he would know more about it. And truly, he had to know more. ” Amen! Fire! Fire!! Fire!!!” My mom’s loud voice brought me back to the present. “It is well in Jesus’Name” The pastor said. He asked me to stand up and I sat on one of the wooden chairs before his large mahogany table. There was a big Bible on it. He also had some tracts scattered around here and there. Some files and documents were neatly arranged at the edge. The set up of office spoke volume about the church- Mountain of Fire Ministry,Apapa Parish.
