Alex walked to the lake side and I was flustered with surprise when I got there. It was a very beautiful sight to behold. The table was beautifully decorated with orientally grandiose red sparkling candles with wine goblets and fingerfoods. It was a very romantic set up and I couldn’t help with look at the scene before me with awe.

“You like what you see?” He asked me with a smile etched at the corner of his lips.

“Yeah. I do” I replied as I took in the nice view again. I adjusted the straps of my bra and gave a lovely smile, revealing my set of whites.

“I made them do this specially for you.”

“I made them do this specially for you.” He said, with his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down as he pronounced each word. His voice was like a legion of sinister voices in my ears. “Its lovely, thanks” I muttered and took my seat. He did the same too.

We lingered on each other’s faces for a long time. I looked down and blushed. When he had told me how his twin brother died years ago, in an accident and because he was helpless on the road with no body to help, he had given up the ghost, I really felt pity for him. I knew it wasn’t easy coping and trying to get himself together after such incident and I vowed to make him happy if there was going to be anything more than friendship between us. I just wanted to see him happy. It gave me life.

“So what would you like to eat?” He asked when a waiter dressed in a wine coloured shirt and black trouser arrived to take our orders.

“I’ll have Sharwama” I said.

He glanced up from his menu and looked at me, with smiles on his face he ordered for a bowl of chicken and chips. He also ordered for a red non alcoholic wine. When the waiter left, the chemistry began between us.

He looked at me for a long time and gulped, like he was trying to keep something away. “Even at night, you are glowing” He said in a low tone.

I blushed and kept my face down as I felt more blood rushing to my cheeks.

“I like you Adetola” he started,making my earlobes turn hot as hell.

“Fine, I know we just met and we really don’t know much about each other but I think I should let you know how I feel about you. I like you and I know you are a good woman. Good enough for a wonderful man” I gape opened my mouth when he finished speaking.

I didn’t know what to say or do. But with the way he looked at me, all I wanted to do was just to rip out his face and gouge his beautiful eyes out. I wanted to caress them softly and tenderly with my fingers and give them the soothe they deserve.
