Tamara raised her eyebrow. “And how would you know it’s very
dangerous. As far as I know you’ve never been there.” She asked curiously.

“I know because Jamal told me.” He blurted, now clenching his hands into
a fist.

Tamara’s eyebrow clasped into a deep frown. “Tell me more please, is your
adopted brother the Jamal, from Laraba?”
Hilton heaved a sigh. “So many people I even know that have tasted the
brutalities of the evil town.”

“”Really?

“Yeah.” Hilton nodded and strutted to where he was sitting previously.

“My father, Rominick Nell lost his brother, Ryan Nell about 30 years ago
and guess who killed him, the Larabas. Till now my old man is still sniffing
for vengeance.”

Tamara’s face shrunk to a wider frown. “And what about Jamal, your
adopted brother.” She asked.

“Oh that dude.” Hilton sneered. “Dude on his own was born in that evil
town where he lost everything he held so dear to his life including his
mother, father and his friend. Now that dude has become a doctor, dude
was too foolish to return to the evil town to establish his medical facilities.”

Hilton said out of frustration, but careful enough to pick his words and
chose to not to mention Jamal’s real name.
“Wait, wait, wait.” Tamara said, raising her up in gesture. “Did you justsay you your adopted brother, Jamal is a medical doctor now in Laraba?”

Hilton scoffed. He noticed Tamara was getting ideas. All he said
previously was an attempt to destroy Tamara’s intention of returning to
Laraba, so she wouldn’t have to meet Khalid, however, he was regretting
ever divulging too much because all he said only seemed to arouse Tamara
more.

“Cat got your tongue?” Tamara yelled, already feeling curios.

Hilton blinked his eyes. “Ehmm …ehmm so what are you now thinking?”
he stuttered.

Tamara could sense his restiveness. She knew he was about to fib. She
immediately jumped down from the chair she was sitting, swigged all the
wine in her cup and lurched to her daughter’s room. Hilton followed her
immediately.

“Amanda.” She yelled entering her room.

Amanda paused and ignored the game she was playing. “Yes mommy.”
She cooed.

“Honey, do you remember the man who treated you on our way leaving
Laraba town a year ago?”

“Jamal mommy. His name is Jamal.” She muttered, with a mousse smile.

Tamara nodded nervously. “Good can you still remember his face when
next you see him?”

Amanda nodded instantly. “Even if I’m blind mom, I will still recognise his
face.” She said.

Tamara smiled hearing that, she stretched Jamal’s portrait to her daughter.

Amanda gasped on seeing the portrait.
“Mommy.” She yelped, grasping the photo and staring at it. “This is him!
This is Jamal.”

Tamara heaved a sigh. So the man that stole her heart all these while was
actually the man that saved her daughter. Tears wet her eyes. She must
have been dumped to have thought they would never meet again when she
told Amanda they would never meet again. She would definitely love to
meet the man that treated her daughter for free and also captured her
heart.

“Honey.” Tamara called. “We’re returning to Laraba to tomorrow.” She
said.

Amanda flared up in joy. “Are we going to see Jamal?” she asked.

Tamara swallowed hard. “Ehmm, honey I don’t know for now. But we’re
actually going to the cave to pay this year tribute to your late father.

Tomorrow makes it another year your father was killed.” She said softly.

Amanda was crestfallen. “Mom.” She called. “So you still insist dad is
dead?”

Tamara nodded. “Yes honey, exactly 16 years ago.” She muttered.
