and went through it. It still said the same

It was a chilling message. I rubbed my
thumb across my cell’s screen, and then
returned the phone to my pocket. I was
confused as well as worried. Had she heard
about my escapades with Michelle already?


Com’ on, but this was only the second time
we’ve met? And not just that; we have only

I did not tell Michelle about the SMS when
we met the following day. I was very careful
not to give her any inclination that I was
worried about the two of us and she
equally never showed that she had heard
about anything either. I needed to be sure
of what the Choir Mistress needed me for
before coming to Michelle with it. Michelle
herself was as buoyant as ever and kept
