Must Read: I Have Done Some Great Bad Things - Season 2 - Episode 19

“kee ihe o gwara gi?”{What did she tell you?},i inquired from Jane..

“hafuwa,nke ahu agaala!”{Forget it,that one is gone!},Jane replied..
My mood consequently changed, and even before i could utter the next words from my mouth,Jane decided to open up on the real thing!
“O Wu chakwa na Owu ya gwara m ya ya onwe ya..”{firstly,its not that Nkechi really told me this herself},Jane said calmly as i looked on to hear what she had to say..
She continues:
“I actually heard her discussing with my sister Ukamaka sometime ago after you left the village…”,she then paused..
Although my heart is still not at ease, but i couldnt help but wonder what Nkechi and Ukamaka must have been discussing together about me if not sêx or that Amara is ******….
And this thought itself heightened the already tensed activity of my heart.Lets see na..
“what where they saying about me?”,i asked her, knowing fully well that both of them were into me,they wouldnt talk any other thing about me except “sêx” or “how Amara blindfolded me and took me away from them bla bla bla bla”…
No matter how hard i tried to pacify myself and my heart,i still yearned to hear what was said about me,cuz thats the only way Peace could return to my heart!
……….
“Aunty Nkechi was boasting to my sister that prior to before you left for Aba,that you were her boyfriend!”,Jane said in Igbo with a mixture of English..
Gawd!! I couldnt help myself from Laughing out loud as i hysterically laughed my arss off while Jane just remained calm and mildly mean looking at me!
“kee ihe nwanne gi gwakwara nu ya?{What did your sister tell her?},i asked her..
Firstly,Jane said that she was in her room as the discussion between them went on,that she only heard bits and bits of the things they talked that day in their house!
Then she continues,saying:
“She{Ukamaka} told aunty Nkechi to stop decieving herself about me{Odii} being whatever to her{Nkechi},that both of them know that Amara has completely taken me”….
She continues:
“then,Aunty Nkechi was like:are you jealous of me?..
My sister laughed and didnt say anything again!”….
“O Gwula?”{is it all?},i asked..
“Olo..O nwere ihe ozo o kwukwara!”{No..she said Another thing too!”
My heartbeat increased again..
“but before i say it,i want to ask you something Odii?”,Jane added immediately…

I nodded in the affirmative..
“O wu eziokwu?”{Is it true?},she asked..
I knew that if i started playing soft,Jane might start assuming too many things again coupled with the ones she has previously assumed, thereby prolonging the already prolonged reconciliation..So,i thought hard!
….
“a makwa m o!”{I dont know o!},i replied, claiming innocence of whatever it is she said..
“Odii gwam eziokwu?”{Odii tell me the truth?},she requested, not asking this time..
“m gwa gi eziokwu,i gaghi ekwe!”{if i tell you the truth,you wont believe it},i managed to say…
I came up with this soft defence cuz i dont and cant fathom out what is on Jane’s mind, even though i have tried to
kinda odd though!..I mean,no need trying to defend what is already bare to me,what i had no fore-knowledge of unlike my interview{Yeah,it is now an interview}..I had to hear her out! I reasoned that reasoning along her own line of thought is the best line of defence i could think of,and the only way not to get her angry,That last scene at Nkechi’s house was still fresh in mind!

But wait o,is this now turning into something else? Thought we are coming for a reconciliation?
“kee ihe ozo O kwuru?”{What else did she say?},i asked…
“forget it!”,she said with a finality tone..
“why?”,i asked..
“saying it out will get me angry!”,she replied..
And truthfully,Jane was beginning to heat up..I Became afraid!
I dont know what she has heard of me ,but i know that same thing is really eating her up,but i couldnt bring myself to ask her to tell me again, instead i offered her an easy way out..
I was like:
“Am hungry!”
She looked at me,and i saw her getting calmed internally, which exhibited externally!
“Even me!”,she replied..I guess she perfectly understood what was happening..Jane was more mature in character than me,but she can really be irrational!
“what did you people cook?”,i asked..
“we cooked stew yesterday, but have not yet boiled rice..Will you wait lets boil the rice or should we drink garri?”,Jane asked me..
“garri ga a aka mma o..before rice ahu eyee taa!”{That garri will be better o..Before that rice will boil today eh!”,i said..
Jane laughed mildly, while adding that we will then boil the rice after drinking{smoking} the garri…
Just as she was through bringing the necessaries for the diluting of the garri,i went up to her and told her this:
“Am sorry!” in Igbo in a remorseful way!

She was stunned anyway, but she managed to say:
“Forget it..Its all gone now!”….
We both smiled as we relaxed and drank the garri, put up the rice to be boiled and chatted our time away while waiting for the rice to done!.
