I opened the fridge and brought out a canned drink that i don’t even care checking the name as i immediately popped it open and pour it into my mouth. I checked the fridge for any cooked food but all i could see was raw food. I relaxed on the fridge for some times before i began to prepare a noodle. I sliced all the vegetables that i needed and put water on the electric cooker to boil. I picked up a chair and sat down waiting for the water to boil. I was backing the door so couldn’t know that Mira was standing at the door

MIRA: i am sorry Ben **i heard her voice**
I looked back and saw her. I stared at her for some seconds and face what i was doing without uttering anything to her.

MIRA: please let me help you with the food **she pleaded**

ME: **i saw her moving into the kitchen** i don’t need your help

MIRA: i know but i still want to help

ME: i think you don’t really want to help. So just kindly go, i will be alright

MIRA: why are you doing this Ben? **i could notice her eyes turn dim**

ME: what have i done?

I moved to the food and began to add ingredients to my noodles

MIRA: let me help you please

ME: i am done, so forget about it

MIRA: do you know that you are hurting me with your attitude?

ME: but you start it first. Just to help me with food, you refused.

MIRA: and i am sorry for that, i over reacted

ME: that is now in the past. Like i said, i don’t need your help now and i won’t need your help again. If you wish to include my meal whenever you are cooking, fine, and if you don’t, that is your problem. I have lived alone for so many years and if i don’t even talk to anybody, it will be my greatest joy
I put my noodles inside a plate with plastic water and tumbler in a tray which i cried to leave but she blocked my way which made me to halt on my track

ME: what is the meaning of all this?

MIRA: i know that what i did was wrong but you coursed everything. But i know that i took it too personal, please, i am very sorry

ME: i knew that you will be sorry

MIRA: why can’t you take a sorry?

ME: please, don’t let mummy to meet us like this **i replied as our body was almost touching except for the tray that i was carrying**

MIRA: then forgive me so that i will leave your way

ME: i am really hungry. Just let me eat first, we will talk about it later

MIRA: i think it will be better like that
I knew that i hurt her and she don’t need to apologise to me, as i am the one that was expected to apologise. But all i was doing was to let her off my back, i want her to stay off me as i don’t like within house stuffs as my mother will be very disappointed in me if she found out. And she was a girl, and must tell all her friends about me including my folks which will bring problem to me as i knew that my sister will definitely report me to my dad.
All i want was to finish my food and walk into my room so that i will lock myself in without coming out till the following day. Jane and Juliet are beautiful girls who are crushing on me while Liza was also in awaiting. Having anything to do with Mira will be loading myself with a lot of burdens and problems.

I walked into the sitting room as Mira sat on the couch watching a program while i sat on the rug devouring my noodles.

Mum told us that we will be going to visit her computer cyber centre but i pleaded with her that i will stay at home and she obliged after much pleading from me. I could see the horror in Mira’s face because i will not be following them.

I was very happy because i will have all the house to myself when Janet will visit and it will be very safe as Mira will not be staying at home
“Praise God” my heart shouted
