Letting go means to come to the realisation that some people are a part of your history but not a part of your destiny by STEVE MAROBOLI
************

I stood beside Evelyn’s car as she went to buy me a ticket. I was putting on i light blue top with a dark green jean trouser with a timberland boot which made me look more taller. Evelyn was putting on a simple gown that has white colour from her hip upward while the rest was red

I decide to call my mum as i don’t even know the main address of which i will be going.

MUM: hello **her voice came immediately she picked the call**

ME: good morning mum

MUM: how are you sweet-heart?

I could notice the excitement in her voice as she spoke but who won’t be, when you will be seeing your son in more than 12 years

ME: i am fine mum

MUM: have you left home?

ME: yeah, i am in the motor pack. Called for you to send me the address

MUM: okay, i will do that right away. Safe journey son

ME: **smiling**same mum
Evelyn walked back to me with the ticked immediately i dropped the call

EVELYN: here you go **she handed me the ticket**

I immediately felt empty, emotions began to build within me as i hold her hand with the paper without letting go. Our gaze fixed at each other, i could feel what she was feeling as her face darken. I don’t know what to tell her

EVELYN: when will you come back? **her voice was broken**

ME: i don’t know **i replied as i tried to fight the tears that was building in my eyes**

EVELYN: i can’t stay for a month without you

ME: i can’t stay for a day without you either
I stared at her as tears began to flow down her eyes, i couldn’t hold it as mine began to flow, wetting my cloth at the process. He embraced me in a tight huge and we hold ourselves tightly not trying to let go. I was very heart broken and depressed. All the good moments we have together began to flow back into my mind which prompted me to start crying

ME: i will try as much as possible to come back to you **i whispered into her ears still crying**

EVELYN: i will come to you anywhere you go if you didn’t return after six months

ME: i will return,

EVELYN: take good care of yourself
We grabbed each other violently in a very tight huge before we disengaged.

ME: where will you go from here?

EVELYN: i will return and get my stuffs before going to my house

ME: could you stay alone?

EVELYN: i will return home to see my parents. I will spend two weeks with them before i return to make preparation for the resumption of school **she tearfully explained**

ME: i will miss you

EVELYN: i will miss you more
I drew her face closer to mine and planted a deep hot kiss on her lips which she reciprocated. The kiss lasted for more than 5minutes. A last kiss from her that couldn’t help reduce the rate at which i will miss her. It hurt to see who you love go even for a little period of time

EVELYN: remember everything i taught you

ME: i will **smiling with pain**

EVELYN: i have to go, take good care of yourself for your baby

She gave me a peck before entering into her car and zoom off. She tried to hide her pain but she couldn’t. I knew that she was very sad but has nothing to do. I watched until her car disappeared into thin air. I brought out my white handkerchief and wiped off my tears. I was very moody as i couldn’t think of anything, all my thought was on how i could survive without her, what i will do without her. But her spirit and words has occupied most part of me. I knew that i couldn’t forget about her forever and her memory will definitely tell on me

I walked to the bus and entered into the front seat (that was my favourite position whenever i enter into any car) The new brand bus was still scanty as it has only 5 passengers on board at that time. I was engrossed with my thoughts that i couldn’t know that somebody was talking to me

MAN: **patted me** i have been talking to you young man, what is worrying you?
The concern on his voice made me to look at him; he was standing outside the bus. A young good looking man that was in his late twenties
