Must Read: A Broken Destiny: The Sword Of Vengeance

RACHEL
**************************
I shivered along with my parents in our little hiding place just behind my bedroom, not because of the cold but due to the agonizing screams of the unfortunate ones who tasted the blood thirsty steel of Nero’s men.

The sound of steel cutting through flesh and putting out the lights in such beings made me continue to wrap my hands firmly around my father’s chest. My mother kept on praying to the good spirits but that day; they didn’t heed to her prayers because soon, the evil men came into my room and my father forced my mother to hold her tongue. They searched every place in the room and found nothing but still they refused to leave which made us uneasy.

“I can sense the presence of people in this room, keep on searching. No one must survive this day.” I heard a deep resonant voice say.

Apparently, there were not only soldiers but wizards among these men. How long would it take before we were found?
It didn’t take long; the wizard moved along the hidden wall where we hid and stayed for too long. We tried our best to conceal ourselves and even held our breath at some point but that didn’t hide us from the eyes of this wizard. The moment we heard men trying to find the way into the hidden place, we knew it was over. The good spirits must have been unable to hear us due to where we were praying from, or it was because my mother stopped praying and so they turned their eyes from us. They found the seal and pulled the door to reveal us. The smiles on the faces of the men whom were about six showed how much the orders of their king meant to them.

They went quickly for my father and both I and my mother held firmly to him but we were no match for these men. They yanked him from us and while we watched, they slit his throat very slowly and bent his head to a particular side to allow his blood pour out like that of a sheep.
I didn’t cry the way my mother did and when they were done with my father, they turned to my mother. I thought they would carry out the same treatment on my mother but they had no such thing in mind. While the battle raged outside our house, something else was going on in my little bedroom.

They ripped open my mother’s gown and forced her to go down like a beast. I turned away as I had an idea of what was going to happen next as I was eight then but one of the men held my head and made me watch as the wizard brought out his long c.ock and pushed it into my mother’s c.unt. Her screams from that one move broke my heart and I didn’t know when I broke from the man’s hold and pushed my weight against the man’s moving J0yst!ck. He fell sideways as he was on his knees when I hit him. My mother held herself but the man couldn’t and his fall made his c.ock go limp and he suddenly started screaming from pains even his men couldn’t comprehend. How could a little push from a little girl cause a wizard so much pain? But their surprise didn’t stay for long because after one of them asked the wizard for the cause of his pains and as the man pointed at me; the rest of the men turned towards me with rage in their eyes. The closest one to me grabbed me by my long red hair and while my mother tried to hold on to me; she received a strong palm to her face that almost separated her head from her body.

That singular action made me mad and I didn’t when I faced the man who held me; I looked into his blue eyes and commanded him from within to kill his fellow men save me and my mother. He nodded and dropped me gently to the floor and pulled his sword from his sheath before running his it through the man closest to him. The move shocked the rest of the men and before the decided if they were going to attack their fellow comrade or not, the man swung his sword and it met the neck of one of them. The remaining three decided that this man was no longer their own and came after him. All this time, the wizard was on the floor screaming in pains. While the men from the south fought themselves; my mother regained herself and took a knife which must have fallen from one of the men and crawled to the foot of the wizard. She used his calf to pull her up to him and before the man could figure out my mother’s intentions, his c.ock had been cut off from his body and my mother held the thing in her hands. The wizard soon bled to death and the bodies of the other men lay on the ground. The man I commanded had finished what I asked him to do. He set his sword on the floor and turned to face as he expected his next orders from me.

My mother watched me in some fascination as I beckoned for the man to go on his knees and told him to get some food and clothes for us.

He nodded and left to get what I asked for.
I crawled over to my father’s still body and closed his eyes. I didn’t cry but I vowed within me to get my vengeance that day.

The soldier from the south became our protector and provider throughout the time of the war. When he had served his use, I allowed him back to his town. That was the first time I used my special kind of gift. I joined the house of the king when I turned ten as one of the few with the gift in the kingdom. The great wizard Melfisius who was rumoured to have been one of the men to have killed the wind of evil – Nero became my teacher. He took special interest in me and taught me on how to use my gift in even more unique ways. I shared in the deep hatred for the North and soon I became one of the few the king held in high esteem. One night, just after I turned twenty years of age, the king sent for me.

“Do you desire justice for what was taken from you?” The king asked after he asked me to be on my feet from my former position of greeting.

“Yes, my lord. It’s the one desire I have nurtured within since childhood.”
“Good, then you will do what I want to be done.” I nodded and he continued.

“You will go with one of the guardians who will be coming in the three days to take a few of you lots to the forgotten lands. I want you there because the old wizard has seen in the stars that a man who will destroy the works of the mad king will make that place his home for a while. I want you there to watch him when he comes and report back to me. That man will be the beginning of our restoration to glory. Will you do this?” The king asked.

I answered his question with a smile and returned to get my things ready. Melfisius taught me the spell of the demon’s walk which has been what I and king have used in speaking to ourselves. Just as he said, the guardian came and she was a very beautiful one.

“You are Rachel, are you not?” The fair woman asked.

“Yes I am, I am honored to have been selected to come with you.” She smiled and said,
“I am Ellen Marcus, call me Ellen. Alright, we will be leaving as soon as the sun is out. Go and say your farewells to your families as you won’t be seeing them for a long time.” She said to the three of us. That day was the beginning of what I was about to finish now; the restoration of the glory of my kingdom and the unleashing of the true sword of vengeance.

The prophecy was about to be fulfilled as I headed for the hunter’s room.
