Must Read: A Broken Destiny: The Sword Of Vengeance

ELLEN
**************************
I haven’t felt this helpless and powerless since my ordeal with my uncles and his monstrous children. I wasn’t sure of what I would do next as I had this warning at the back of my mind that any single error in whatever I was about to say next would surely not be pleasant for me. Kieran had a wild look in his eyes like a predator who has managed to put his prey where he wanted. Where he held my arms were beginning to burn and I couldn’t do anything to stop it as that might give off a wrong impression. I put on a calm look to ease the look of rage on his face and gently tried to pull my arms from his firm hold. It’s important I keep some distance between us as I would find it difficult to create my words properly with those set of eyes burning into mine. I managed to get what I wanted and when I looked at where he held me some time ago, I saw bruises. The sight brought back memories I never wished to remember anymore and I felt like hurting this arrogant, untamed man. But I decided otherwise, he was determined to find out whatever he intended to get from me and using magic to repel unpredictable person such as himself will not be a wise decision. I will use the bruises to my advantage and try to keep my anger in check but I will return the favor in some other way.

I walked away from him and feigned crying a little bit,
“You see the reason why I hate men so much, it’s because they enjoy oppressing the weak. Look at what you have done to a harmless woman when all you needed to do was use that arrogant tongue of yours and ask me what you want. There shouldn’t be any need for this; I am not your enemy. I am your teacher, Kieran, One of many who have sworn to protect you and guide you to the light. I am truly disappointed in the methods you employed to get what you want, you should know that we are not one of your games, especially someone like me.” I said and quickly looked away from him.

He didn’t utter a word after what I said and instead came closer and held my arms again where he held them before. I grimaced in pains and tried to get away from him but he held on strongly.
“You have tasted pains but it wasn’t the physical ones that actually hurt you, it was having your feelings betrayed by the ones you thought should be protecting you. It was the feeling that you were been used by the ones that offered to protect you. That feeling, Ellen, is what I am passing through currently. I am feeling used by almost everyone around here, even the one who has watched me over the years. I know where the gordand stands which is why I feel free with her. Claudia doesn’t seem to know she is being manipulated, I do not know for certain what Anna wants from me anymore but for you, its different altogether. You claim to be after vengeance for a man you hardly knew which in my opinion seems too far-fetched. If anyone should seek for any personal vendetta towards the king, it should be Claudia, so why take on a yoke which is not yours?

What is surprising is how you seem to know how to appeal to a certain part of me and leave the other parts untouched. You have appealed to the brutal side of me, the side I show only when I am either very focused or when I have allowed something consume me such as my desires and rage. I want to know how you have knowledge of such things; else I will give you more of the fire you have started.”
My plan didn’t work, he knew of what I did and if I continue to run around what he wants, he might do something I do not want to imagine and mother will be greatly displeased if she gets to hear about it.
“You are a very simple man to understand. You give your all in whatever you are doing which was what I saw as you tried and tried until you found a way to heal that woman.

When you did that, you use a lot of your gift which had a massive effect on your body.
That weakened the strength of the walls protecting you and I was able to go into your mind without using the gates of desire.
The moment I went in, I felt the enormous joy in you knowing that you had saved a life, I was intrigued and decided to find out what could have caused that and that was how I found about the rage, the sorrow, the loss and the bitterness eating you up. I was surprised at the sort of pain you grew up with and concluded that we both had something in common.
As your training started, I expected to see you channeling such feelings to your gift as we both know that’s what brings out your powers but you didn’t do any of that. Instead, you were trying really hard to put down those feelings which were what prompted me to show you that grave and my early life. It has proved to be working and has made you become closer to your gift. I don’t think I am using you here for anything, I only gave reasons to why you should be angry and since they were all true; your rage came out naturally. I don’t see anything wrong in what I have done.”
I finished with the explanation he asked for.
My heart was beating really fast as I hoped he would believe what I had just said but when he smiled, I knew he didn’t,
“Do you take me for a fool? I could have believed what you said if it wasn’t for the fact that you made a flaw in the beginning your speech. It’s not emotions that ignite my gift, it’s my will. I call out to my gift like it is another being inside of me. I was trying to keep my rage not because it amplifies my gift but because I tend to lose myself to it easily. So, it seems you have discovered next to little or nothing about me on your own, you were probably told all you know by someo………”
I knew what he was going to say next and if I allow him complete it, I might yield to his demands and make me tell him that mother is my informant. I must do something to distract him before all the trust he has in me crumble.

Just as he was about to complete his sentence, I closed the distance between us and lock my lips with his. There was no other path; I had to use the gates of desire once more to do what had to be done.
