Must Read: A Broken Destiny: The Sword Of Vengeance

It’s been more than four weeks now and I have barely heard any reasonable report about the other golden destiny. The only rumor going around town which appears to have any substance is that he has somehow found his way to the forgotten lands which explains a lot of mysteries.

The strange magic I felt some weeks back must be from that empty space and the old lady with the man must be one of those guardians.
I should have known all this time that it must have been them trying to have control over what they think it’s theirs to guide.
That ageless woman, Anna must be behind all of this. I am only surprised at her timing, why did it take this long for her to come for him.
The whole thing could have been a little different if Lucien had found the man instead of his daughter which he wanted. Anna’s decisions might be questionable; Lucien’s on the other hand makes no sense. He has been strangely quiet about the man for some time now, and unless I remind him he seems not to be interested in the matter. Rather, the urge to watch the domain of the north kingdom seems to be his top priority.

The man is becoming more interested in petty politics than insuring his life. He has never been this negligent before and instead of him to correct his mistakes, he is ignoring them.
I thought he had taken care of the problem until I found out some days ago that one of his cherished w.hores is now with the hunter in the forgotten lands. Revealing the fact that he is watching the man through one of the most hated set of beings alive is complete foolhardy, Lucien is slowly losing what actually set apart him from his father – his wisdom. How could he allow the gordand inside the walls of that enchanted place when he is very aware that he cannot get across through anyone there? if he was so interested in watching the man who can actually defeat him grow in power, why not have him brought to his palace where only him can see him and have the man protected from the numerous minds who seek to kill him.

With the right teachings and the right motivation, that hunter can be used to cause considerable damage to Lucien and might even end up killing him. Lucien is becoming too confident in his powers and allowing that men get into those unbreakable walls shows the highest form of arrogance. He barely listens to me anymore after he found out about my resolve to get to the roots of how the hunter got his powers. He probably thinks I am after his throne but what would an old man like me want with a cursed throne? Anyway, my findings amounted to nothing.
There was nothing within his parents to suggest that they had any trace of powers. Yes, both were ungifted but like I earlier thought, many ungifted ones have gotten married but none of those unions have resulted in any golden destiny.
How he got his powers is still a mystery but I am certain, one person has the answer to that question – Anna, my former teacher.

“What is the report on what I asked you to do?” I asked Angell.

“We know of about fifteen of them whom were sent here by the mad king but we believe they are more. We paid a mob to attack them but we made sure they weren’t killed, just as you requested.” He replied.


I nodded and wave my hands to dismiss him. Lucien had the nerve to send in men into my kingdom and the foolish men were so arrogant, they actually stationed themselves around most corners in my palace to watch my every move.

Angell was right, their number must surely be more than fifteen,the young king is not stupid however arrogant he is. He must have more in other parts of the city watching me. He only sent those fifteen to my palace to carry out his message of his invincibility and the fact that he knows of my failure to get the hunter.
Melfisius really let me down and now the arrogant king knows I am coming for him. Well, I might not have liked the fact that he knows, but knowledge about it will provide for a good game of wits, one I rarely lose.

I have replied in like fashion by arranging for the men in my palace to be beaten and I am certain he must be aware of that now. I will like to see his next move. One way or another, I will have the powers of either golden destiny.

“You called for me, my king.” I turned from my window to see Rachel, one of my most trusted spies.


“Yes, what news do you have for me concerning the other golden destiny?”
“Well, he is quite the character. He is not loved by many in the forgotten lands as scaring one of the leaders there with a powerful bolt of lightning and having feelings for a gordand didn’t give him off in a good light.”

“A gordand is there in the forgotten lands and she is still alive?”
“Yes, she came with him and she still breathes because Anna doesn’t want to hurt the hunter by killing the woman. It appears there is something between the both of them.”

I was beyond shocked to know that Lucien had someone watching the man which explains why he wasn’t interested in getting the man in the first place. What stupid game is this young man playing here? Why allow what can kill him move around freely? Did he anticipate me going for the man? Because if he did, I have just confirmed what he expected. This is bad, very bad.

“How is the man, is he getting powerful?”
“It’s hard to say but the reports haven’t been good. He is said to be slow in learning and this will surely hinder whatever Anna has in mind for him. He is difficult to see and rarely ever leaves the quarters. The few times I have seen him though, I could tell he was putting on what he wanted people to see. The man is more than what people believe him to be.”
“So, you think he is putting on an act?” “Yes, I believe so.”

“Alright, continue to watch him and try to find out what made him accept the invitation from the guardians.”
She kissed my hand and found her way back into the darkness through which she came.

The man will be difficult to get, as most people know little or nothing about him. The only way to get what I desire now is through the only path that has been staring at me to walk through for a long time now: The path that never has disappointed me, the path that will surely get the arrogant king out of his palace, the old path of chaos and destruction – the path of war.
