Story: The Heat - Season 1 - Episode 6

With my face buried in my hands, in the gripping dark, that was the only think that I could feel hugging me, I could feel it vibrating my ear. I didn’t want anyone to see me crying and also wished someone to come wipe my tears. I felt bad, he was my first and I loved the feeling I got when I was around him and I expected that we would last, but it didn’t, in fact it end before it started and I knew it but I didn’t accept it.

I was now on my bed alone, with the haunted memories of the first of Felix and I. I couldn’t think straight, I wanted to think about him but the moon rays kept shinning on my face, and that blasted music from the complex. At this late hour of the night, where they having a party or what, the moon was so bright and it shown into my room brightly with every passing hour; and the music that bounced on the dark roads of the estate couldn’t get any louder, it went louder and louder and louder and the ceaseless prodding of the music got on my nerves.

Then I got up and put on some clothes and headed to the complex. I was just lucky that the security men didn’t harass me, again!
I was like a suspicious stranger prowling the streets, I knew I didn’t belong home and I didn’t belong on the streets, I was just looking for some fun to get my mind of Felix.
On getting there, It was like that portion of the estate was daylight while the other portion was in utter darkness, there was no light, the other portion was like God hadn’t proclaimed the light.
The oxymoron of the two; light and the dark, compared to the deafening silence back in my room, made this place feel like the creation of a significant thing, like a work of art that I admired from distance.
Everyone there was doing one thing or the other, music playing and people dancing and it still felt like I was the stranger and they were all friends. Some where by the tennis board paying tennis and others making bets; some where by the snooker table playing it like they were professionals, I had never seen anyone play snooker that good and they were all good; just a few shots where open, a restaurant, the suya stand and the bar. I know it was the bar because it was the place where there was the most noise, and what made me know for certain that it was a bar was because I saw someone come out with a bottle in his hand.
