Me: Shola, it’s going to be okay…. She’s going to be okay…

Shola: You forgot about us… you forgot everything…. What went wrong with your head?

Me: Shola, it’s a long story… very long story I’m not ready to explain….

Shola: I know you’re seeing someone else… so that should at least, cut the long story short….


Me: It’s not all about that… anyway…. I’ve come to say hello…. And I’m going to be here for some time… you know it’s the long vac…

Shola: Baby…. I so want you back….

Me: Shola, don’t start now… it’s not even good for you now….


Shola: What do you mean don’t start… I’m okay… it’s just the baby… and she’s going to be okay soon also… everybody’s going to be okay Jide… My husband…

Me: Shola, we’ll talk… have you eaten?

Shola: No…. it’s still early…


Me: Okay, let me go get something for you…

I went to the nearest eatery….
Tantalizers…

I got a whole rice, chicken, ice cream, drinks….


Shola: Wow…. See what I’ve been missing….

Me: Shola, like I said… don’t start now…

Shola: Jide, I know I was at fault… everything was all about me… I’ve learnt my lessons already… and I only want to move on….

We started gisting…. Until my sister called me…

With the call, it was more like they were not getting along really well….

I rushed back home after telling Shola I was going to come and see her next the next day or the next…

I met them in the parlor seated….

Nolly got up…. And looked at me with a very funny eye….


Me: I’m sorry…. I stayed too long….

Kemi: How’s she?

Me: How’s who? *I gave her mad eye contact*

Kemi: I mean your friend’s mum?

Me: Oh she’s okay…. I even forgot….

Kemi: Good…. That woman shouldn’t just die now…

Me: Shut up! She won’t … Nolly have you eaten? Or in fact… let’s go out….

I got off the car….

And they followed me…

I wasn’t ready to add the issue of this people not connecting to my agenda…

I made the two of them buy what we were to eat….

We left the place and headed home…. On our way…


Shola: I want to come and see you at home

Me: For what…. Aren’t you supposed to be with the baby….

Shola: The doctor told me already…. The baby won’t survive Jide..


Me: Calm down Shola… calm down… I’m driving now…. I’ll call you later….


Shola: Jide I’m talking to you…
