Mrs philomena woke up two hours later in the sitting room, checked her phone it was 1:20PM, she stirred and remembered everything that had happened in such a short while. Her thighs had dried up.

She unlocked the phone and searched for Ngozi’s number which she had saved as “Ada Ngo” in tradition with the name bestowed on the first daughter of any igbo family.

Ngozi had been on the 14seater bus barely 3hours and she was already exhausted.

She was disgusted by the prospect of arriving Abuja by bus, though this bus was comfortable and wasn’t filled to the brim with passengers.
She just didn’t like the idea of telling her friends she arrived Abuja by bus. Not that she was overly pompous of proud of her father’s status, she just felt that for a first time it was quite appalling to arrive the capital city by bus.

She was charging her phone with a powerbank, ‘mtchw this iPhone sef I need to change it’…. she scrolled down her whatsapp chat list, her cousin Obinna hadn’t replied her last message, she wondered what he was doing.

“you are busy there with one fine girl abi you can’t reply my message” she typed into the keypad on her phone screen and hit the “SEND” button.

Then her phone rang, showing “mommy” across the screen.

She had long expected her mom’s call and wondered why It took so long, she knew the first thing her mom will say.

“Hello” Mrs Benson’s drowsy voice filtered through the phone.

“hello mommy how is everything”
“so you dont know you are supposed to call me abi? where are you people now”?
“err mommy I know i-“

“mommy we are nowhere yet o”
“what do you mean nowhere?”
Ngozi paused…
“eh what do you mean nowhere?”
“err mommy, I don’t know where we are yet o but I think we are on the benin-Ore road” Ngozi replied as her head suddenly bumped into the roof of the car along with other passengers,
“ahhh driver you wan kii person” an elderly woman barked,
“leave am na ode” came the voice of another man.

The drive paid no attention to their ranting.
“hello are you there, what is going on?” Mrs Benson asked alarmed at the amount of noise coming from Ngozi’s background.
“nothing oh mommy its just the driver that entered gallop with speed o”
“hmmm na wa o, boko when you reach where you people will eat you call me so I will know, ok?”

“yes ma”
“love you”
“errr?….”

Mrs Benson winced frm the swirling head, ‘what is wrong with this girl again?’

“ok ma.” The line went dead.

Ngozi was caught off guard by her mother’s sudden show of affection, not that it surprised her but it was not a regular thing, it only happened on a few occasions. She stretched out and yawned, her hand mistakenly struck the passenger who was seated in front of her,
“ohh sorry”
Silence.

She leaned forward curious she thought she had hit him hard enough to at least be conscious of it, to her amazement the man’s head was straight ahead but his eyelids were closed. He was fast asleep.

She heaved a sigh of relief and reclined again resting her back on the seat, her legs were beginning to feel numb, she brought up her knees and coiled it up, careful not to touch her cheek. ‘thank heaven she was putting on leggings at least she could put her legs up on the seat unlike a skirt or gown which would have made her bother about exposing her pants.

She straightened her earpiece wires and plugged them into her ears, she hadn’t listened to drake’s new album and on her class WhatsApp group every other person said it was hot. She loved music, good music, Sekxy music. She tightened her pelvic muscles, her pvssy felt cool, she was good to go. She closed her eyes.

Mrs Benson wondered why Idigo hadn’t called her yet, she searched for his number which she stored with “darling” on her contacts list, she hit the dial button and
‘the number you are calling is unavailable at the moment please try again later”
Why would his phone be unavailable, it was almost afternoon now, she winced and supported herself by holding the armrest of the settee as she stood up.

She pushed the door fully open and the next thing she saw startled the living day light out of her….

A man was ontop of the bed pounding another figure into the bed,
