Unavoidable Nemesis

I was reading and also watching the people playing around, almost one before they bring the papers, we
all rush in awaiting to see our names, they post our name and hall on the wall, I search for mercy and lilian, they can’t struggle to check because of the crowd, I saw their names and hall including mine, we
are not in the same hall which made me sad, sitting with mercy inside exam hall gives me Joy, anyway am not scared the paper is not maths related which am scared of, I always depend on mercy when it
comes to maths or anything involving calculating.

They put me in multipurpose hall with so many people and so many lecturers which means giraffing
won’t be possible talkless of asking question, ten minutes later they shared the paper and we all started
writing, it wasn’t that hard anyway so I just write what I know remaining only one question for me to
finish, I started looking for a way to communicate with my mate sitting in my front.
“John, you know number seven b?” I ask and the John didn’t answer, maybe he didn’t hear me.

“John” I called out loudly.

“Who said that?” one lecturer shouted from my back.

He came closer to where I was and ask three of us on the sit.

“I said who called john?” he ask again and nobody answer.

“Oya all of you stand up” he commanded.
I didn’t want them to suffer for what I did so I confess it was me.

“You did it and you kept quiet since? Oya stand up you are through” he said taking my papers.

“Am sorry sir, am not through” I said begging.

“Get out now” he shouted again.
I didn’t know what to do so I just stand up and leave the hall.

I left the hall and search for room 105 where mercy is, I look through their window I saw her sitting at
the extreme end where I can’t even communicate with her, so I leave her since she can’t even see me,
on my way out of the school I saw some people that are through with their exam celebrating, I was
watching as some guys bath one girl with dirty water, I was lost and before I know it one girl from hostel
appear from nowhere and baptise me with soapy water.
