Story: Adanna!!! (18+) - Season 5 - Episode 1

Unavoidable Nemesis

When we started we thought the journey was too long, we were praying to God to make the next year four years come very fast, but now that we are about to graduate we have started missing each other’s,
some were crying while some were jubilating, all our classmates wore white shirt waiting to drop their pen after exam.

Today is the last day in this god forsaken school, oh well am not saying I won’t return am just saying
when I come back it won’t be inside the hall to write exam or to learn but rather to take my result.

I watch as people continue jubilating while I watch sitting under an umbrella tree with few students like
me who believe in revising their book before the exam, I don’t blame the others jubilating because it is
not easy to be a graduate, or at least almost graduate, I didn’t put on my white shirt even though I have
am just on my normal arsenal jersy with my black trouser and black belt.

The time for the exam is nine but almost eleven we still haven’t started, I guess even the lecturers will
miss us so that they don’t want to share papers, the real reason might be that they don’t want what
happened last time to happen again, last year three people were killed after final papers because of cult
issue, since we have morning and afternoon paper now I believe they are trying to merge us together so
that everybody will leave at the same time, not bad anyway.

On the umbrella tree I was sitting from afar I saw lilian and mercy (lilian was the girl I went to visit when dog drive me and almost get me, the slin lilian) and of course I don’t need to introduce mercy.

I saw them coming from the gate with other people, they can’t see me because of the place am sitting, but I know they are going to the library so they must see me because am close to the library.

As they come closer mercy saw me and smile, she bend her face downward.
“Sup ladies” I said as they approach me smiling.

“Good morning” they both greet me.
“So na now una they come school, paper wey we get around nine abi?” I said.

They join me on the long wall bench.

“Even now wey we come exam done start?” lilian replied.

“Don’t mind him, even if exam start you won’t write anything if am not around” Mercy added opening
her book.

“Why una no wear white na?” I ask.
“Who get time, Abeg let us revise or else we will enter library” said lilian making me to keep quiet.
