'Jemeji' Season 1 Episode 136 Recap - Aired: Monday 11 September 2017

Iya Oviyon settles down to a meal of Eba and vegetable soup.

Fonton rushes in and she asks what's chasing him.

She hears banging on the door.

Petunia's siblings yell for Fonton to come out.

Iya asks Fonton who they are.
Fonton says they are Petunia's people.

They threaten to burn the house.

Obi is still tied up on the floor of his room.

Chief's family bring the police in.
One of the police men tells him he's under arrest for murder.
Obi says he didn't do anything and he has an alibi.
They ignore his protest and take him away.

Akweyon and Seyive are in the bush
Akweyon is digging a hole in the ground with her bare hands.
Seyive offers to help her but she declines.

Mausi's 4 maidens are with her in the shrine.
Mausi is in the middle and two of the girls kneel on either side of her.

She tells them that many are touched by the gods but the gods will only hold on to only one of them and that one, they will show many things.
She says the gods know who they are but the maidens must show everything to them.

Akweyon buries her raffia priestess attire in the hole.

Mausi tells the maidens to give everything they have and the gods will decide for themselves.
She throws a red scarf in the midst and they all struggle for it.

Seyive pulls Akweyon up
Neza is standing by.

Matron enters the hut and sees Senami unconscious.
She calls for Folake
Folake rushes in and asks what she should do.
Matron tells her to go and get water.

When Folake leaves, Matron picks a sponge front the hut and puts it in her handbag then she picks up an old cloth.
She takes the embalmed hand out of the chest and wraps it in the cloth then puts in her handbag as well.
Senami sees her doing this but pretends to still be out of it.

When Matron is done, she sees Senami awake.
Senami asks what happened.
Matron tells her she will be fine.

Folake returns.

Sonaya is with Sewedo in his room.
He tells her that Obi would rot in prison.
Sonaya says she saw the girl in Sewedo's room the other day and she doesn't understand why Obi would do that to her.
Sewedo says Obi was jealous because he and Glory used to be together.
She asks how he knows.
He says Glory told him and also told him that Obi had stopped talking to her and she was even afraid of what he was going to do to her.
He says he can't help but feel responsible.
She tells him it's not his fault that Miyise has serious mental issues.
He asks what would happen..
She tells him that Miyise cannot be Chief and they would have to tell the people what he did.
She calls an attendant and tells him to go and call an elder for her.

Petu's siblings are still banging on Iya Oviyon's door.

Iya tells Fonton that she's going to open the door.
Fonton says she can't go because they want to take him to the shrine to swear he didn't kill Petunia.
She asks why he doesn't want to go.
He says he and Mausi don't agree and he doesn't know what Mausi would say.
She asks if he killed Petunia.
He says he didn't but doesn't know if Mausi would say it was his fault that Half a day killed Petunia.

Iya Oviyon goes outside.
She meets the siblings and Jonah.
Fonton eventually comes out
The siblings tell him that they will return later and Fonton will have to accompany them to the shrine.

Senami is on a bed in the clinic.
She tries to make a phone call.
She eventually gets Oviyon and she tells him that she needs his help.

She hears someone coming so she quickly ends the call and pretends to be sleeping.

Folake and Matron enter.
They ask if she's Okay.
Senami tells them that she's better now and would like to go and rest at the lodge.

One of the palace attendants walks in.
He tells Folake that Obi got arrested.
She follows him.

One of the elders comes to see Iya Oviyon.
He asks if she has heard the people saying the gods have placed their hands on Oviyon's head.
She says she has always known Oviyon was a special child even when people tried to change his destiny, they couldn't.

The elder Sonaya sent for, comes to the palace.
Sonaya asks him what happens if the incumbent Chief is not fit to be Chief.
Sewedo says Miyise is a killer so (Sewedo) wants to know what to do to become chief.
His mother cautions him.
The elder says they have an elders' right of choice where the elders vote to decide if Miyise remains Otogan.
He says that was how the late Otogan Adomeh became Chief.
Sonaya asks what he means by that.
The elder says Otogan Adomeh wasn't supposed to be Otogan, it was meant to be his brother but it was discovered that his brother was not mentally stable and when they found an animal with eyes plucked out, they knew he couldn't be Otogan and the elders stepped in.
Sonaya asks when the problem started.
The elder says they noticed it when Otogan's brother became next in line to the throne.
Sewedo is jittery.

Jonah comes to see Peace at home.
He asks if she's okay and suggests taking her to the hospital.
She says what's wrong with her is not a hospital matter.
He asks if she heard about the fight.
She asks what fight.
He tells her about it and says Oviyon would have been worse off if Mausi hadn't appeared from nowhere.
She becomes scared and tells him not to come and look for her anymore.
He tries to talk her but she leaves him outside and enters the house.

Oviyon leaves his house.
As he gets to the gate, he sees Zosu approaching.
He picks up a heavy stick, ready to fight him but he's shocked when Zosu kneels down holding a live fowl and a keg of palmwine.
He pleads with Oviyon for forgiveness and begs him to help them talk to Mausi to forgive them.
