'Jemeji' Season 1 Episode 127 Recap - Aired: Tuesday 29 August 2017

Obi is with Chief's wife in the palace.
She asks him what he needs protection from.

Sewedo enters.
Obi says he was just telling his mother that the boys outside are there to keep them safe.
He leaves them.

Sewedo gives his mother a copy of the will.
She's shocked.
He asks if she knew about it.
She says no.
He asks if they will just sit by and watch the bastard take over his inheritance.
His mother asks where he found it.
Sewedo says it's so convenient that just before his father's death, Obi shows up.
His mother tells him to stop.

Sewedo says he won't keep quiet as he's the one smiling sheepishly and trying to get information from everyone.
He asks why they are letting the bastard take over.
His mother tells him it's enough.
She says she knows he's upset but shouting gets them nowhere; they will get through the burial then contest the will but they need to do it properly.
Sewedo says it's frustrating.
His mother tells him not to worry as her job is to protect him and his sister and anyone who tries to steal from them will have her to contend with.

Zosu, Totei and two of the goons come to the palace.
Oviyon's boys ask them what they have come for.
Zosu says they have done to guard the palace.
Oviyon's boys tell him that they are already doing it.
A heated argument ensues.
The palace attendants tell them to keep it down.
Oviyon boys tell the goons to leave.

A tailor brings the burial outfits to Chief's wife and children.
They fabric is the same for all their outfits.

Obi walks in and the woman gives him his own.
It's a different fabric.
Sewedo asks his mother if she can see what Obi is going to be wearing.
His sister tells him not to start.
He grabs the outfits from his mother and sister and gives them back to the tailor.
He says he wants the same fabric as the one Obi is going to wear.
The woman says she's only acting on the instructions of the elders as Miyise is the first son.
Sewedo tells her to go back to the elders and tell them that hell will freeze over before he allows that to happen.
He calls her a stupid illiterate.
Obi tells him not to insult her as she's only doing her job.
Sewedo asks who Obi is to tell him what to do.
He goes close to Obi and asks who he really is.
Obi says he's the one one who would teach him a lesson if he doesn't stop all the nonsense.
Sewedo asks if Obi just threatened him.
He ignores his mother's caution.
He asks if that was how Obi got his father to include him in the will.
His mother tells him to stop as she already told him she would handle it.
Obi asks how he got to know about the will.
Sewedo throws the clothes at the tailor and tells her to take her rags and get them something presentable to wear.
He stalks off.
Obi says he didn't ask for all these.

Peace is at the shrine.
She reminds Mausi what she said when she was leaving the last time she was there, that something would happen to the first person she sees.
She says she saw Petunia and now she's dead and she saw something on her neck.

Mausi comes out of the shrine to examine her neck.
What she sees makes her laugh.
Peace asks why she's laughing.

Mausi picks up a native marker and makes a design on Peace's arms.
Peace asks what they mean.
Mausi says it means something good is about to happen.
Peace asks if the thing would happen to her.
Mausi says it would happen to them and all of Aji as Peace is about to enter her true destiny.
Peace asks if it's true Petunia died because for her.
Mausi doesn't respond.
Peace is almost in tears as she says she only came to the shrine because of Oviyon's issue.

Mausi calls her foolish and asks if talking about a man is all there is when she stands on great power.
Peace asks what she means.
Mausi says Peace has the power to heal, to punish, to protect and to serve the people of Aji.
Peace says she doesn't want to serve anyone, she only came for Oviyon.
She's crying.
Mausi says she came looking for something but something else found her and there is no escaping from it.
She says Peace knows she (Mausi) wasn't born in the shrine and the mission doesn't end with her.
Peace ways nooo.
Mausi says it's Peace's turn to pick up the cross just as she did all those years ago.
She says it's her first step to becoming the next Mausi.
Peace screams no and runs off.

They tell her they are not there to answer her questions.

The goons and Oviyon's boys are having a staring contest.
Oviyon walks into the compound and asks what is going on.
His boys tell him it's the jobless goons who are intruding.
Oviyon whispers to his boys to keep an eye on them.

He goes to Obi and tells him the goons won't be stupid enough to try anything.
Obi says since Chief died, it's been one trouble after another and he doesn't understand why the people can't just put their differences aside and let them bury the man in peace.
Oviyon asks what the issue is.
Obi says it's Chief's family.
Oviyon asks if they don't like him.
Obi says when he walks into a room, he feels the hate.
He asks what he did as a kid to make them hate him till now.
Oviyon says he has no idea but Obi shouldn't worry about that as they will soon bury Chief and the family will leave and everything will be back to normal.
Obi says he doesn't even remember what normalcy is.

The goons and Oviyon's boys get into another heated argument.

The police take Neza into their interrogation room.
They ask who told him that Kingsley killed Iya Minasu.
Neza is quiet at first but when they put pressure on him, he says he saw it happen.
They ask why he's only just saying so.
He says he just remembered.

Peace is at home trying to wash off the designs Mausi made on her arms.
She keeps scrubbing but the marks don't fade.
She screams.

He tries to run away, telling them to leave him.
They hold him back.
He says the animal must answer for his Petunia.

He tries to run again.
Jonah hugs him.
Fonton tells him to go to Lagos.
Jonah says he can't leave.
Fonton says what would hurt him the most is if they harm Jonah.
Fonton begs Oviyon to help him talk to Jonah because he's the only one he has now.
Oviyon begs him to calm down.

He tells Samuel to stay to Fonton while he and Jonah attend to something else.

Oviyon and Jonah leave.

The elders are in the palace.
The spokesman tells Chief's family that it is the duty of the first son to carry out the burial rites; he will follow the elders into the most sacred chamber where Otogan's body is lying, he will wash the body while the elders supervise and eulogise on Otogan's greatness and achievements.

They stand up to leave.
Obi tries to walk them out but Sewedo grabs his hand.
His mother tells him no.
He let's go and Obi walks out.

She says it's her fault.
He says it's not her fault but the village.
She says she's tired.
She starts crying.
He hugs her.
She holds on to him then suddenly pulls away.
She asks what he wants.
He says he wants to be friends with her.
She says not in Aji as she wants to leave.
He tells her to give him a few days and he would drop her off.
She says she can't wait.
He begs her to give him a few days.
She says she will wait but not in Aji

Samuel and Fonton are still outside Neza's house.
Half-a-day, Zosu and Tote appear.
They slap Samuel around.
