Movie Story: Jemeji - Season 1 - Episode 120

Neza is running in the dark.
Saul chases after him but Neza escapes.

Saul is on the phone with Kingsley.
He tells Kingsley that he heard a phone ring and he's in pursuit of the person but doesn't know what the person might have heard or seen.
Chief's wife and daughter arrive Aji.

The attendants surround the car to welcome them.
Obi comes outside to receive them.
Chief's wife acts cold towards him.
He tries to usher her in but she says she knows her way around her husband's house.

Her daughter has a patch covering one of her eyes.
She is just as unfriendly as her mother.
Petunia meets Half-a-day in the bush.

He says he hopes she called him for something important.
She tells him that the elders invited Fonton to the palace and what's even more serious is the fact that Fonton now knows about them.
His response is 'So?'.

She says once Fonton knows, it means the entire village would know.
He repeats his former response.
She asks if he's not embarrassed.
He asks why she's embarrassed now when she was enjoying it as it happened.

Petu says they've come too far for things to get ruined now.
Half-a-day asks if she wants him to kill Fonton.
She says that's not the solution to everything; she just wants to know that if it becomes necessary to make a move, he would be able to.
He asks what she means.

She tells him to just be alert and wait for her phone call.
He takes an exception to her tone and statement.
She leaves him seething.
Kingsley returns home.
Senami says she hopes the fire didn't do much damage.

He says it did.
She says she's sorry.
He says he has to get in touch with the insurance company.
She says she hopes no one was hurt.

He says no.
He starts eating the dinner she kept on the table for him.
He asks where they were with their discussion last night.
She says she doesn't remember.
He asks if it means they can talk about something else.

She says 'Like?'
He says like them being in love for one.
She opens and closes her mouth without saying anything.
He says he knows she loves him like he loves her and he feels like they are the perfect match and she understands him just like he understands her.

She asks what he's saying.
He asks what's stopping them from moving forward.
She says they need a lot more time as she doesn't want to rush into anything.
He says they are not rushing and he's sure she knows he has been very patient.

She says she knows and she just needs to figure some things out.
She asks if he won't at least wash his hand first or take a shower.
She holds his hand and asks if it's blood she's seeing.

He looks at his hand.
She asks if he cut himself.
He says it's not his blood, it's one of his workers that was feeling like a hero and ran back to the fire to get some of his things
She says she thought he said no one was hurt.
He says he wasn't badly hurt.
She gives him a questioning look,

He stands up and says he is going to wash off the blood.
Obi enters the palace to meet Chief's family.
He smiles nervously and asks if they've had something to eat.

Chief's wife says it's all been taken care of.
Obi says he was thinking they could talk.
His phone rings.
Chief wife stands up and her children follow her out of the room.

Obi answers the call from Folake.
He asks how far.
She asks if he wouldn't have called if she didn't.
He says things are getting very serious.
She says there's trouble as Sewedo came to see her and was asking a lot of questions.

Obi says he doesn't understand too because he has been acting weird.
Folake asks if he thinks Sewedo knows.
Obi says he thought Sewedo was weird but now that the rest of the family have arrived it's worse.

Folake is surprised that they are already in Aji.
Obi says he sees them talking and he thinks they are talking about him which is disturbing.
Folake tells him to be careful.

Obi says he wants to talk to them to see if they suspect anything and when he's done he will come and see her.
Senami, matron and Seyive arrive the clinic at the same time.

They open the door and meet Neza sleeping on a bench.
They wake him up.
He tells Senami that this is the first time he would be very happy to see her.
He holds her hand and tells Matron and Seyive to excuse them.

He tells Senami that there is fire on the mountain.
Chief's family return to the main room.
Obi asks if they left because of him.
Sewedo says they thought they should give him some space.

His sister asks what the emergency was about.
Obi says it had to do with his foster parents
The wife asks if they live around there.
Obi says they don't.
He says he wanted them to talk about the burial.
Chie's wife asks if he's Obi.

He says he's getting used to being called Miyise.
She tells him that the burial cannot take place till an autopsy has been carried out.
Obi says it's been done; he authorised it.
Chief's daughter cuts in and says, like her mother just said, they will need an authorised autopsy carrierd out.

Obi says according to Aji laws...
Sewedo stops him and jokingly asks when he became a custodian of Aji laws.
Obi is stunned into silence.

Sewedo offers him a bottle of groundnut.
Neza takes Senami into her office and locks the door.
He asks how well she knows Kingsley because he saw something last night that she won't believe if he tells her.

She tells him to try her.
He says he saw a heavily pregnant woman last night and they used her for rituals.
Senami rolls her eyes.
Neza says there was blood in the bushes and on the grass behind the corper's lodge

Senami asks if Kingsley did it.
Neza says Kingsley and the other man did it; the man chased him and he ran so he came to take solace in the clinic.

Senami asks if he was high when he saw them.
Neza asks her if she was high when she saw a floating pot at Mausi's shrine.
She says that was completely different.
Neza tells her to open her eyes.

He asks how well she knows Kingsley.
She says well enough.
He laughs and says 'Sorry Senami.'
She asks what he's saying that's for.
Neza says Kingsley killed Iya Minasu.
Senami says no.

Neza repeats it.
The door opens and Kingsley walks in.
Obi is at the Lodge.
Folake gives him a hug then she hurries inside and comes back with her bags

She says she was waiting for him to come and she already called the cab man so they can start leaving.

He says he has to stay and give Chief his last respect as his family is not willing to do that.
She asks what happens if they now find out about him.

He says it's a risk to he's willing to take; maybe he can make up for deceiving Chief.
She says he already said the family members are acting funny, now he wants to give them the chance to catch him.

He says the family is not interested in Aji customs.
Folake says they don't believe in it.
Obi says he thinks there is something more that explains why they never came around;
something is not right

Folake asks if he wants to wait and find out.
Obi says he feels it's the least he can do after all the love Chief showered on him.
Folake says okay but as soon as they put Chief in the ground, they are leaving.

Dr. Jide casually strolls into the lodge and sits down.
Folake asks if he's deaf and didn't hear her warning not to show up again.

He points at Obi and tells him to sit down.
Obi sits.
Dr. Jide asks if he's aware that Chief's son has been going round Aji asking questions about him.

He says when Obi went rogue on their
partnership, he crossed the point of no return and to think he joined forces with the wh0r£
(Folake) to steal his money.

Folake warns him to watch his mouth.
Dr. Jide asks Obi what he's still doing in Aji and what happened to all his protest about not wanting to have anything to do with Chief's properties?

He tells him to bring back his money and go back to the initial plan or he will regret it.
Folake asks if he thinks they are still afraid of him.

Dr. Jide stands up and says that can be fixed.
He walks out.
Obi looks very worried.
Fonton is in his bedroom thinking of his life.
He stands up and starts putting his clothes in a bag.

He peeps at the door to know if Petunia is coming.
He picks his money from under the bed and as he starts counting, Petunia sneaks up behind him.

Half-a-day follows.
Petunia asks Fonton why he's counting money.
Fonton says he's not doing anymore as he's tired.
Petunia asks what he's tired of.

Fonton says she must be crazy if she thinks he doesn't know what the 2 of them have been doing under his roof.

Petunia asks what he's tired of.
Fonton says if they know what's good for them, then they would let him go his way otherwise he would blow a whistle over their heads and let everyone know.

As he heads for the door, Petunia gives Half-a-day a sign.
He grabs Fonton by the collar and pulls him back in.
Obi returns to the palace.

He sees Chief's family outside and 3 of the attendants staring at an object on the ground.
He asks what's going on.
Chief's wife asks where he has been.
Obi says he went to see a friend.

She asks how long he has been out for.

He says not long.
She asks if he's sure.
He asks why all the questions.
He moves forward and sees what the
attendants are staring at, a dead catfish on the ground.
