Movie Story: Jemeji - Season 1 - Episode 116

It's morning in Aji and the villagers are gathered around Iya Francis' body.

Matron arrives the scene and asks why they left the body overnight.
A man says Papa Francis has gone to Wesere and there is nobody to carry her body.
Matron asks if nobody can carry her as her
husband is not around.

The man says they are scared as what is happening is not normal; first, Iya Minasu, Otogan, Moses and now Iya Francis.
Matron says so leaving the body like dustbin it what is normal?

She says she's sorry for all of them and has never been more ashamed of the people of Aji.
Iya Oviyon is crying and Oviyon is consoling her.
Petunia and Fonton arrive.

Fonton falls on the floor beside the boy, crying.
Obi arrives and nervously addresses the crowd.
He tells them to calm down as they will get to the bottom of it.

The guards take the body away.
Fonton says they are under attack but they will join hands to make Aji great again.

Petunia says her husband is saying they need to all join hands with his boys to fight the enemy.
Oviyon says they can all see how they finish their enemies.

His mother puts her hand over his mouth to shut him up.
Petunia drags her husband away.
Dr. Jide calls his bank account officer in Lagos to tell him he was a victim of hired killers.

The account officer says seeing as Jide is still alive, he wouldn't call them hired killers.
Jide asks if he has done a reversal of the money transferred from his account back into it.

The account officer tells him that the account the money was transferred to belongs to a Folake Adeoti and he will contact her bank.
Dr. Jide is shocked.

He tells the officer not to contact her bank.
Senami enters the shrine and looks around.
Mausi appears behind her and says she really likes showing up at people's houses.

Senami holds her throat like she can't find her voice.

The next second, she's sitting on the ground and Mausi is holding her laptop.
Mausi tells her that everything there is fake,
including her voice.

She turns the screen of the laptop to show Senami a photo of herself wearing the red scarf over her mouth like Akweyon.
Senami jumps up and when she turns around, she sees Akweyon in jeans and a tank top with 2 bandanas over her mouth.

She takes off one of the bandanas to give to Senami.
Senami collects it and finds herself all alone in the shrine.
She hears Seyive's voice from afar asking her to save her sister.

She falls against the statue with the pot that mustn't touch the ground.
The statue falls to the ground but the pot remains floating in the air.

Mausire appears and asks if Senami is ready to hear her explain.

Senami screams and wakes up behind her desk in the clinic.

She sees a dead lizard on the desk and screams again.
She wakes up from her dream fully.
She is behind her desk at the clinic like she was in the second dream.

Seyive walks in to ask if everything is alright.
Senami says everything is fine.
Seyive says she wants to know when she would leave with Akweyon

Senami says she's not sure because Akweyon was with Neza, she left and she went to the shrine ...she saw Mausi and she saw a lot of things like the pot floating...

Seyive asks if she means Akweyon is in trouble.
Senami says she doesn't know but she will find out.

Half-a-day enters Fonton's house to ask how far.
Fonton says something must be wrong with Half-a-day.

Half-a-day asks Petunia what's wrong with her husband.
Fonton twarns him not to talk to Petunia.
Petunia tells Fonton to calm down.
Fonton asks Half-a-day if he did it.

Half-a-day asks what he means.
Petunia says they saw Ita Francis' body in the market this morning.
Half-a-day says 'And so?'
Fonton asks if he did it.

He says of course.
Fonton exclaims 'Ayo Ayo!'
Half-a-day says not everyone will wait for instructions from Petunia.

Petunia asks what he means by that.
Half-a-day tells her to keep yakking but she should talk to her husband as they don't need trouble this period.

He walks out.
Petunia opens a bottle of malt and starts drinking without a care in the world.
Fonton is about to cry.

Neza is at the shrine, hiding from Mausi.
He tgets the shock of his life when he turns and comes face to face with Mausi.
He tells her he's sorry.

She says she doesn't have time if he has come for advice.
He is unable to look at her face.
He says he just wanted to know where Akweyon is as she's not around.

Mausi asks how it is his business.
He says he's sorry.
He starts to leave but he comes back and boldly says he just wanted to know how she is as he knows she's been disobedient and he wants to apologise on the behalf.

Mausi starts calling for Akweyon but she doesn't respond.
Neza takes over from her to call but still no response.
A commercial rider bike brings Dr. Jide to the clinic.

Dr. Jide complains about bikes putting peoples lives in jeopardy.
The bike man asks for his money.
Dr Jide gives him less than the agreed price and says the rest has been deducted for his poor driving skills.

The man gets off his bike and grabs Dr. Jide by the collar, telling him to pay or his fat stomach will reduce.
Dr. Jide says he has survived hired assassins so the bike man doesn't scare him.

The bike man threatens to beat him up.
Matron and Seyive come outside to find out what's going on.
Dr. Jide gives the man his balance payment.
Seyive asks Jide if it was the bike man that roughened him up.

Dr. Jide says he was attacked by hired assassins.
Seyive asks if they took his car.
Dr. Jide says yes.
Matron says they sound like thieves since they didn't kill him.

Dr. Jide asks who cares what they sound like.
He vows to get the car or he will die trying.
He limps into the clinic.
MAGA boys storm the market.
Tote says he just feels like having palm wine.
One of the boys mentions Sulah and his palm wine.

The market women give them bad looks.
Tote asks why they are looking at them that way after they risk their lives to watch over the village.
One woman says they watch over them indeed that was why Iya Francis and Moses got killed.
Tote asks who said it.

Nobody answers.
He threatens to deal with them.
As he turns to leave, he bumps into a woman.
He asks if she's blind and can't see where she's going.

The woman is dressed in Iro and Buba but sounds exactly like Mausi.
She asks if it's not a bit odd that he should be talking to anybody about manners.
He gives her a hot slap that almost sends her to the ground.

He tries to hit her again but the boys stop him.
He grabs her face and asks who she is as he knows her from somewhere.
She doesn't respond but slips away quietly.
Petunia is sitting in front of her house, looking worried.

Peace arrives and asks if she's okay.
Petunia asks if she told her she had a problem.
Peace asks if she had any bad dreams.
Petunia says she already told her what to do about Oviyon so she doesn't want to be disturbed.

She goes into the house.
Dr. Jide limps through the village.
He stops to rest.

MAGA boys walk past him.
He sees Tote who stops to take a phone call and he recognises the voice.
He rushes off in fear.

Folake comes to see Obi in the palace.
He says he knows after he told her everything she wouldn't want to see him again.
She tells him to stop.

She surprises him with a kiss.
He says so she doesn't hate him?
She says she loves him and knows he meant it when he told her that he loved her.
He smiles.

She says nobody has been honest with her or trusted her like that.
She tells him that she got him the money.
He says he doesn't understand.

She says it's a long story and she got it from Dr Jide for them; she already got it from the bank so he doesn't need to.
She reminds him that he said he wanted to run, so they can both leave the village right now.
Obi doesn't look so sure.

Mausi drags Akweyon out of the shrine and forces her on her knees to put her head inside a pot filled with water.
She says she has tried her best to cleanse her but she keeps corrupting herself; she has a huge destiny she insists upon throwing away.

She forces her head into the pot.
Akweyon's hands are tied behind her back so she is unable to struggle.
