The line inched forward, and Clyde stood straight, picked his trunk and moved forward. His blood was boiling within him. Just a few continents away lay another mystery waiting to be solved, and he felt his spirit dulling within him as he stood on the line.
Tall, moderately built and with a hard-looking face that belied the kind personality on the inside, Clyde dé Crozon had the looks and reputation that endeared him to all. He had grey eyes, and his black hair was interspersed with patches of white.
He was a man who had seen it all, who had followed his passion in life to become a Private Investigator. His line of work had taken him through almost everything, and solving mysteries was already a part of who he was.

It was no wonder then that as soon as he received a call from Nigeria’s president himself, he had headed, the very next day, for the Lé Bourget Airport in France, his home country, where he now stood, waiting his turn to purchase a ticket for a direct flight to Nigeria.

It finally got to his turn, and he was not at all surprised that the sales attendant at the counter immediately recognized him.
“Oh-my-word! Mr Dé Crozon, I’m so delighted to see you!” She said in a heavy French accent.

Slowly, others started turning his way, eyes widening in recognition. Dé Crozon ported in kind. He had noticed time and again that speaking with his native accent endeared him to those of his nationality.
“Merci.And I assume you are a fan of my work.”

“Yes, I always do in the internet and in the papers. Work is taking you out of the country, I think?”
“Mais oui,it is.”
“I wish you luck then,” she said as she stamped his ticket and handed it to him along with his passport, then offered her hand as well. He shook it warmly.

“Merci.Thank you once again.” He took his ticket and walked on.

Within thirty-five minutes, Dé Crozon was walking through the gate into the plane along with the other passengers. He took the stairs inside the plane to the upper level, entered the business class section and found the one reserved for him. He went in and took a seat, arranging himself and stretching his legs in preparation for the long flight ahead.
Nigeria,he thought, here I come.
