It has been five days now since I last saw Fadz and I can’t seem to get her off my mind. She took my number but she never called. I insisted on her giving me her contacts but she flatly refused. She didn’t even tell me if she wants to see me again she just said she will call…. But she never did. Now I constantly check my phone to see if it’s her but it’s never her. Mom’s voice startled me back to life.

Mom: Zenzie… what is it my dear.

Me: nothing mom

Mom: but you haven’t touched your food.

Me: I am just not hungry mother.

Mom: are you sure… you have been like this for the past few days.

Me: I assure you I am fine… any way I have to go I have a meeting this early morning.
I stood up and took my jacket.

Me: see you later
I was glad be the CEO of Sindia express at that moment otherwise I wouldn’t have had a reason to leave the breakfast early. All my father discussed with me about the family company was the distribution of the shares which he added me in the list. I now I have shares in the company but I don’t really know how much I have otherwise there is nothing much for me to do.

I went straight to the office and sat on the CEO chair. Every time I sat on that chair I felt proud and ask myself if Mr. Sindia sees me and if he does, what is he thinking. I knew he used to call me a dog, I low life but now a dog is sitting on his chair and this dog is going to show him that he can do much better than he could ever do.

Yes he had a lot of money on the company account but a lot more on his account which Trisha changed to her mother’s name. My account was also starting to fill up with my monthly allowance from my father’s company and the money I earn from the Sindia express.

Around lunch time I took a drive only to find myself parked in front of the little jewelry shop. I went inside the shop and found her helping a customer. She was in her ripped jeans and a shirt with her hair tied in a neat bun, as soon as she saw me she quickly ducked under her table. The customer left. I went to the table and stood there. She remained under the table.

Me: you do know that I saw you right.
I said and she stood up with a very shy and embarrassed smile.

Fadz: hi
I couldn’t help smirking at her. She looked so adorable and childish trying to avoid me the problem was I didn’t know why she was trying to avoid me because I told her to tell me if she wants to me again or not.

Me: why are you hiding?

Fadz: I was picking up an earring.

Me: okay…

Fadz: do you want to buy some jewelry
She looked flushed and pale. I chuckled looking at my phone while searching for a pick up line. I raised my face ready to reply her.

Me: I believe the jewel that I want can’t be bought.

She flushed again, she was so nervous… I have never seen her nervous, in fact I believe she would have already thrown a f--k off line at me. She looked around and looked back at me.

Fadz: uh… all the jewelry here can be bought… Please if you don’t want to buy anything then you can leave.

Please… did she just please, that’s a first. What the hell is happening to her?

Me: come on Fadz… you know what I mean.

Fadz: oh dear lord save
She muttered under her breath and turned to leave. I held her hand and she flinched.

Me: what is wrong?

Fadz: i… (Clears her throat) I am sorry I am not feeling well.

I let her go and she disappeared to the back. I took a deep breath, she was frustrating me because I couldn’t figure out what the hell is wrong her. A couple entered and greeted me.

Me: sir… we are looking for wedding rings.

Lady: we just got engaged.
I looked at them stunned that they might think that I work here but then I am the only one at the counter. I looked at the back door and saw her quickly moving back. She was peeping… I might have to bring her out and I knew the best way to do that. She wanted to play games and I am giving her one game to play.

Me: okay look around and tell me which one you like.

The lady looked at the expensive jewelry and the man was just smiling while looking and admiring her. I looked at the back door and she was right there staring at me.

Me: you know big ring are heavy and often prune fingers… I think you should go for small rings.

Lady: small

Me: yeah… they would suit your tiny fingers

Lady: excuse me do you know who you are talking to…. We have a big fat bank account and I can easily buy you.

Buy me… is this some kind of a joke? Lady you do not know who you are talking about.

Me: I am sorry mam.

Man: look man we are just about to go.
Fadz appeared and gave them a smile

Fadz: I am sorry sir he is not even an employee here… please choose whatever ring you wish

I walked outside the building and observed her from the glass wall in a spot where she couldn’t see me.

Fadz: and I can even give you a discount for subjecting you to such a rude person

Lady: we do not your little discount we can afford everything here

Fadz: excuse me lady, I am trying to be nice here so you better appreciate or go and brag about your obese account at some other jewelry shop

Ok I can see that she is still the same mean girl I met but why does she act weird when I am around her… I smiled as at a silly thought… I mean she can’t possibly lose her cool because of me or is it possible. The couple left the shop

Fadz: good luck wasting your fiancé’s money because I am sure we actually means it’s the husband account

She said as they went out through the door. I actually found myself smirking at her rudeness.

I took my mind off thing by going to the court I knew Trisha was appearing at the court. To my surprise she was the one defending a criminal today and she nailed it.

After the court I didn’t even say hi to Trisha went to the jewelry shop and waited for her to close up the shop… the mother left first and I wondered what she possibly does at the back room of the shop. I got off the car and sat at the bonnet of the car.

She looked at me and closed her eyes. Yep… it’s definitely the effect I have on her and I can’t help wondering when this all began maybe it started when I kissed her.

Fadz: um…. Zenzele right

Me: yes

Fadz: I said I will call you

Me: but you were taking too long anyway I am pretty sure you have made up your mind.

Fadz: I still haven’t

Me: okay let me take you home

Fadz: no I will catch a taxi

Me: you will catch a taxi… you choose a taxi over than a free ride

Fadz: I can’t guarantee that I will get home alive in your car

What is that supposed to mean?

Me: you think I don’t know how to drive or I am a ritualist

She flushed at my words and closed her eyes

Fadz: that’s not what I meant…

Me: what did you mean?

Fadz: I don’t think I want to explain that to you

Me: well it was rude

She flushed again. She opened her mouth to speak then closed again

Me: I don’t eat people Fadz, you should know this by now, I thought the last time we had a great time.

Fadz: we did but the last time… eeh…

She tilted her head from side to side as if she is thinking of the right words to say.

Me: yes

She took a deep breath after speaking awfully fast

Me: I didn’t get a word you said

Fadz: good because I would have been really embarrassed if you did

I kept quiet for a few minutes only to realize that she is breathing so heavily. I really have a strong effect on her and I love it.

Me: yeah this is awkward… I know what to do.

Fadz: let me go

Me: make the decision for you…we are having lunch again tomorrow

Fadz: no… I can’t… I really can’t.

Me: why…

Fadz: because you scare me okay…

I froze for a moment. I scared her? Since when. Why do I scare her? Am I that hideous? I looked at her and her expression had changed. She looked unhappy, depressed and I saw that little bit of fear in her eyes. She left me there and I didn’t even try to stop her because I didn’t know what was wrong with her… maybe I did something to scare her but what did I do wrong?
