Katherine’s POV
“Will you come with us to the basketball
court?” Elena asked as we walk down the
hallway
“What’s going on there?” I said
“The players are practicing” Temi replied
I wasn’t interested in watching Joseph play
in the court.

“You can go ahead” I said
“What about you?”
“I’ll go to the library”
“Why don’t you want to come along?”
Temi asked
“Nothing”

“Is this about Joseph?” Elena asked
I didn’t answer
“You should be nice to Joseph” Temi Said
“You know he doesn’t mean any harm”
Elena added
They both stopped and face me
“I think I know why she doesn’t want to be
nice to Joseph” Temi said to Elena
What does she know?
“Tell me please” Elena said without looking
away from me. Temi folded her arms.
“Its because of Angella” Temi blurted
“No.. No.. ” I stuttered
And stopped

“Yes.. I’m right” Temi pointed
“Kate, Joseph is nice, even though he’s
friends with Angella” Elena added
“They are different.. Trust me” Temi said
I stared at them
Temi was right! I was avoiding Josoeh for
so many things which Angella was the
main reason.
“So what do you say?” Temi asked
“You.. Girls.. Can’t understand…” I said
unsteadily
“Perhaps.. Are you talking to him behind
our backs?” Temi asked
“No!” I exclaimed
“Then tell us what we don’t understand”
Elena said
I rolled my eyes at them. There’s no way
I’m going to make them understand.
Everyone would keep blaming me Like my
dad.

“I.. I.. Don’t.. want anyone to.. accuse .. me
of trying..to steal.. her boyfriend” I said
That’s not even the point!
“You mean Angella?” Elena asked
And I nodded
“Come on Kate!” Temi said
We continued walking
“We’re friends with Joseph, even though he
is Angella’s boyfriend” Temi said
I wasn’t surprised! Cullen already informed
me that Angella and Joseph are together.
Best Couple!
Elena grabbed my right hand while Temi
took the other one.
“No excuse” Temi Said
They dragged me along with them to the
basketball court.
Everyone was seated. I pulled my facecap
properly to hide my face from the Junior
Students. They won’t stop talking about
me and also asking me for my number.
Some boys even sent me love notes which I
passed to Elena and Temi. They are always
interested in reading those silly notes.
We all settled in the back seats.
“I don’t think this is a good idea” I
muttrerd when I noticed Angella and her
girls in the room.

I was trying my best to avoid Angella
Benson. The students in the front row
turned to look at us.
“Oh! Its Senior Kate!” a girl whispered
“Wow! She’s pretty”
“I can’t believe she’s in here”
Another girl said
“Are you here to watch the game or
whisper about her?” Temi said in a harsh
tone
They apologized and focused on the game
“You know.. I’ve always wondered how it
must feel to be beautiful” Elena Said
“It’s not fun” I replied
“For me.. Its fun with this kind of reaction
you get from people” Temi Said
“And men” Elena
added
“I don’t get any from.. Men” I said
Then we heard a loud noise in the room
“Look at that! Joseph just scored a point!”
Elena clapped excitedly
She seems too excited about Joseph. And I
got to thinking over and over again that
Elena felt something for him too. She
looked at him differently and always ready
to defend Joseph.

Everyone stood up and clapped
“You can do it J. J!” Elena screamed
Angella looked back at her with a deep
frown on her face but Elena didn’t care
about the look. She continued
“Go J. J! ” she chanted
And soon everyone joined her
“Go J. J! ”
And he hit the ball into the net again!
The other basketball players carried Joseph
high up in the air. He blew a kiss and
directed it to Elena. She caught it in a mock
style and threw her face cap up and saluted
him.
I studied her expression closely and I found
my answers.
Elena was in love with Joseph!
D--n it! It must have been hard for her..
seeing someone you love dating another
girl. It was a one sided love! And i hate that
shit!
