Monster Unleashed - Season 1 - Episode 52

Stepping out of the bathroom, I glanced at Jason who was sleeping peacefully on the bed, naked.

He looked like an angel and he was so handsome too. How could I have thought I would be capable of killing the man that I truly loved?

Kissing him on the cheek, I covered him and slid into the bed sheets opposite him, cuddling him. I had made up my mind…
.

Being in Jason’s warm and strong arms made me feel like all was well. Like all had gone back to normal. For one second I was certain I had forgiven Jason for all that he had done to me.

I glanced up at him and admired his handsome and peaceful sleeping form.
“I love you.” I said in a soft whisper.

“I love you too, Cathy.” Jason replied in a sleepy tone. It’s like he was dreaming about me. “Am so sorry for what I did to you, my love. Living with Nancy has made me realize how much I truly loved and still love you. I wish I could turn back the hands of time, I truly do.”

“Shhhh,” I whispered, a stray tear escaping my eyes, “it’s okay. I forgive you. You and I are meant to be one. Always and forever.”

Jason spoke in his sleep again. “Then don’t go away, please. Cathy! Cathy!”
And he woke with a start, panting and wiping the sweat off his forehead.

I sighed. “You were having a nightmare, boss.” I calmly said, wiping the tear that had run down my cheeks.

“I was?” he incredulously asked. “It was so vivid!” he added, sitting up and leaning against the wall.

I sat up too. “This Cathy,” I warily said, “what happened to her? Why do you keep calling out her name?”
Jason flashed a sad grin and sighed. “Cathy was the only woman that I ever fell in love with. She meant the world to me.”
“But how did you end up marrying Nancy?”
“Cause Cathy died.”
I feigned a gasp. “How?”

Jason heaved a deep sigh, his eyes welling with tears. “She left me for another man and met with an accident.” he said, burying his face in his palms. “I really don’t want to talk about it.”
I patted his back. Trying so hard not to pay attention to the lie Jason was just from telling, but I just couldn’t. My heart was shattered into tiny million pieces.

Here I was contemplating forgiveness and Jason was here tempting me to torture and murder him.

“How dare he disrespect my memory?” I asked myself inwardly, fuming!

Jason looked up at the wall clock and said. “it’s late, Nancy must be worried about me. I need to get going.”
“Sure.” unfazed, I said. “But let me get you a glass of water. I can see how much you are hyperventilating.”

“That’s so kind of you.” said Jason, getting out of bed and beginning to dress up.
I grabbed a towel and wrapped my body, I then slid into bed slippers and went to the kitchen.

I stood over the sink, a glass of water in my hands and tears welling in my eyes. Jason had unknowingly hurt me once again.

I shook my head and decided to take his water to him. I had just taken a single step when some thoughts hit me.

“Babe, people get la!d and dumped daily. You ain’t the first and definitely won’t be the last.” Jason’s words echoed in my head.
