I helplessly watched as Mrs. Kasonde and her crew locked my office. She later brushed both Nancy and I aside and got into an elevator, her colleagues in her wake. With tears running down my cheeks, I slumped onto the carpet in the hallway. Nancy stood over me, cursing under her breath.
“Cathy,” said Nancy, her voice was shaky, “would you care explaining what’s going on here? What the hell did that b---h mean when she said the company belongs to that bastard, Jason Banda?”
I sniffed and stood up. “Let’s go.” I quietly told Nancy.


“Where?”
“To that bastard’s house.” I hotly said. “Let’s go castrate him!” And I scuffled over to the elevator.

As we were waiting for the lift, Nancy said, “Cathy, did you perhaps sign some papers that you ought not have signed?”
“I don’t know, Nancy!” I yelled. The elevator opened and I stepped in.
“My God,” said Nancy, pressing the button to the lobby, “What the hell have you done?”

I ran my hands through my weave. “Please Nancy!” I snapped. “Don’t rub salt in my wounds ai? That son of a b---h shouldn’t have messed with me!”
“And what exactly are you going to do?”
“Get back my company.”
“How?”
“I don’t know how but I know I will!”

The elevator opened and Nancy and I stepped out, hurrying out of the lobby.
“Am sorry but the last time you said that, things didn’t go too well did they?” said Nancy flatly. “I mean, the Bandas still own that land, don’t they?”

What the hell is wrong with this Nancy girl? I thought.

“Nancy,” I said, mustering all the calmness I could afford, “if you can’t afford to say any comforting words, please keep your mouth shut!”
“Fine!” she retorted through gritted teeth.
