“Officers, here they are.” Mr. Chorus commented and the soldiers move closer to us.

“Now move.” A soldier commanded pushing Daniel by his head.
.
Daniel and I were arrested by the soldiers and we were dragged into the car as the bus sped off.


Students could be seen spying from the window and some standing at the door just to witness the scenario that Daniel was arrested again. Rumor as usual has spared like wide fire around the school that Daniel and I were those rapists that rape the unknown rape victim.

In less than thirty minutes, we were in the barrack and we were dragged out of the van by two enraged soldiers.
“Is the Lieutenant Colonel in his office?” The Warrant Officer who led the team of soldier that came arrest us in school asked a status soldier.
“Sir (he saluted), he is in his office and he has been waiting for you.” The soldier replied as he remained in his status position.

“You (pointing to a soldier), take care of them.” The Warrant Officer commanded a Hausa recruit whose face wasn’t inviting at all.

“Start frog jump.” The recruit commanded holding his gun and Daniel looked at him dejectedly. I was about starting the punishment when Daniel pitched me with his finger.
“Yeeee…” I groaned in pain.
“Sir, you ask us to be doing frog-jump but we don’t know our offence.” Daniel rebutted with frown face.
“Kai wahala e, if I slap you ehn… you go dey see stars… start frog-jump” A Hausa soldier threatened loudly and I started the frog-jump without hesitating.
“I don’t know my offence sir and you can’t abuse my fundamental human rights because I’m a legitimate citizen of this country… if you can tell me my offence and I accept I am guilty of it then I will surely accept any punishment.” Daniel riposted softly.
“Wahala e, you this small boy, you don’t know me…” The Hausa recruit rebutted and he unhooked his belt.
“Start the frog-jump.” The Hausa recruit commanded and Daniel remain adamant.
“If I can know my offence and I accept the guilt then I will surely accept any punishment…” Daniel defended but unfinished.

“Wahala I will beat you mercilessly today.” The Hausa recruit concluded and he raised his hand up in the air with the thick belt in his hand. ‘paow’ the belt gave out its sound as it landed on Daniel’s head.
“Who are those creating scene outside?” The Lieutenant Colonel asked the Sergeant standing behind him.
“Sir, it is Audu and those two boys brought from C.H.s.” The Sergeant replied as he saluted the L.C (Lieutenant Colonel). The L.C walked straight to the scene with a corporal, a Sergeant and the Warrant Officer Class I all walking behind him.
“Audu stop.” The L.C commanded and Audu saluted.

“Why are you beating him?” The L.C asked directing his question to enraged Audu.
“Sir, I tell him to do frog-jump but he refuse…” Recruit Audu replied motionlessly.
“You (pointing to Daniel), he gave you a punishment and you refuse to comply, right? What nonsense.” The L.C blasted alarmingly.
“I am sorry sir, I don’t know my offence and I don’t see any reason why I should be punished unjustly… if he can tell me my offence and I accept the guilt then I am really to accept any punishment.” Daniel replied boldly and courageously.
“Your offence…? Hmmn… you are such a bold boy, I love your courageous…” The Lieutenant Colonel commented but unfinished just then a flashy and deluxe car parked very close to the scene.
“Where are those idiots that raped my daughter?” Princess’ father barked loudly as he came down from his flashy car.
“Good morning sir.” The Lieutenant Colonel greeted as he shook hand with Princess’ father.
“Raped?” Daniel and I sighted in disbelief.
“Chief, are you sure these are the boys that raped your daughter?” The Lieutenant Colonel whispered to the ear of Princess’ father.
“They are the one, torture them very well. They will surely open up.” Princess’ father yelled impatiently.
“How is she now?” The Lieutenant Colonel asked Princess’ father referring to Princess.
“She is still in coma and she hasn’t waked up since yesterday.” Princess’ father replied heatedly.


“L.C, please, the boys must confess…” Princess’ father whispered to the L.C and he nodded in approval.
“I will make sure you guys rot in jail.” Princess’ father threatened as he entered his car and the car sped off.

“Start the interrogations with torture if they prove to be stubborn.” The Lieutenant Colonel commanded, and the Warrant Officer commanded two sergeants to drag us to the barrack welfare.
