“Hmmmm, I see, Peace said in her heart. ” mummy don’t you like him? And how is he?, Makamba asked. “His a good guy, handsome and rich. But has he in anyway express his feelings?, she asked. ” no he has not, Makamba replied. “What about Alfred?, Peace asked. ” mum please stop reminding me of him, what’s my business with someone who did such evil and rejected me?, Makamba asked angrily. Peace stood up and checked the calendar, she turned her gaze to Makamba, “do you know you were to see your period last week? She asked. ” what! It’s already past?, she asked afraid but Peace just stood there shaking. “Mummy talk to me nau, Makamba almost cried. ” don’t worry it’s nothing, maybe I didn’t circle it correctly, Peace said going back to her seat.

Nelson drove to the hospital and met his mother already on drip. Miriam ran to him and hugged him immediately he entered, “how is she?, he asked. ” I don’t know, i’m so scared, she replied. “Don’t worry she’ll be okay, what about Joanne and Esther?, he asked. ” Esther came but she left to get drugs but I called Joanne and she told me she’ll be coming soon, she replied. “Thank you so much Miriam for always there for my mum, Nelson said holding her hands. ” it’s nothing dear, your mum is like a mother to me and I love you both the same, she replied with a smile. Nelson just stared at her lost for words while their lips locked together.

Blessing was buried two days later. Her friends and few relations gave their last respect. After the burial, Ime returned back to her husband house. Her mother in-law was Mad with Takon why he should bring back Ime even when they were already arranging for a new bride but Takon couldn’t give any tangible reason.

Janet(takon mum) left in anger to visit someone. “Baba there is problem, there is problem!, she shouted reaching there. ” calm down my daughter. Sit down and tell me what the problem is, Baba quietly said. “can you imagine, Takon gas brought back that barren girl to the house. Now my plans has failed, she said but Baba laughed at her. ” what’s funny Baba? Or you think is not serious?, she asked in anger. “The barren girl is no longer Barren. I see your son making love to her as we speak, so your plans has not failed, Baba said. ” I don’t understand, Janet said confused. “Go home and relax, in months later you’ll understand my daughter, Baba said laughing. Janet got up in anger and left, ” poor girl, I wish you know what is coming your way, you wouldn’t have returned, Baba said shaking his head.
