My Blood Brother - Season 1 - Episode 10

Mummy what’s wrong, Makamba said and attempted to meet her mum but she fell. “See you’ll hurt yourself, Peace said lifting her up. ” why are you crying?, she asked. “Dear its a long story, don’t worry about it, peace replied. ” no mummy, stop hiding things from me please, Makamba insisted. “Ok, you have a sibling aside from Peter, Peace said. ” what! And where is the person?, she asked. “Dead, his dead, Peace said almost in a whisper. “Who told you this?, I mean how did you have the baby?, Makamba asked. ” ok let me tell you everything. I stayed with my parents at Bakassi, one day my mum friend told your grandmother a rich woman is looking for a maid who will take care of her kids since she’s a banker. My mum accepted and told me about it, I was happy at least I’m going to leave the village to Calabar I’ve been hearing of. I did my job diligently but I dreamt to have a husband like Mr James. I secretly had feelings for him until one morning after I went to drop the kids off at school, I went into their bedroom to sweep and arrange it, thinking he has gone to work since my madam already left very early in the morning. But I met him masturbating,I was shocked and wanted running out but he stopped me. I saw the pleading and desire in his eyes and I felt pity for him. He sat me down and explained his actions to me, telling me how his own wife has been starving him sexually. From that day we became so close and I ended up satisfying him anytime he needed it. When I found out I was pregnant, I told him about it and he told me to keep the baby that his going to see my parents. Soon his wife heard about the pregnancy and my life was a living hell, she threatened and did a lot of things to me even when Mr James rented a house for me. He always stood by me but I couldn’t take it anymore after I survived the incident of my house on fire. Luckily for me, the fire was arrested but the shock made me gave birth to my son prematurely, but still, my parents were not aware that I was pregnant. I went to my Madam and apologised for breaking and causing trouble in her home and I also made it clear to her that I’ll be leaving her husband for good. But I begged she should please not hurt my son because I couldn’t bear running away with my son to suffer when his father is rich. She promised to keep my son but on a condition that I’ll never show my face to her or her family again. Already another maid or should I say a nanny was employed called Mary. I gave my son to her and ran away without Mr James knowing. I went back to my parents and pretended as if nothing happened. 1year later there was a traditional marriage in our neighbourhood and that was where I met your father, Peace explained. “So you mean even dad doesn’t know about this?, Makamba asked. ” yes, I wanted taking this to my grave. But now my son is dead and it’s all my fault because I wasn’t there for him and Mr James will never forgive me for what I did, Peace said in tears while Makamba kept silent still surprised by her mother words.

Mary went home worried, she took her phone and dialled a number. “Hello Mary, how are you doing?, A man answered. ” I’m fine sir, how is the family?, she asked. “I thank God, I hope all is well?, he asked. ” yes sir, just that I saw Peace today, she said. “Which Peace?, he asked. “Koko-ete mother, and she asked about her son, she said. ” that woman must be crazy! Which son is that?, does she has a son? Is it the son she abandoned and ran to another man huh! He shouted angrily on phone. “Calm down please sir, Mary pleaded. ” what did you tell her?, he asked. “,I made her believe her son was a sickler and he couldn’t make it, Mary replied. ” that’s very good of you, if I ever see that woman near my son, I’ll strangle her myself!, he shouted. “it hasn’t gotten to that nau, Mary said. ” anyway thanks for handling the matter and my regards to your husband and kids, Mr James said. “Thanks sir and my regards to everyone, Mary said and dropped the call.
