She Dies - Season 1 - Episode 52

Reagan swerved left and brought the car
along Steve Avenue. The time was 2:45AM.

The street was quiet and shaded with tall,
graceful trees, with the street lights glittering.
In ten minutes, he was in the driveway and in
another five minutes, he brought the car in
front of No7 Steve Avenue. He stepped out
and hurried to the wrought iron gate. He dug
into his pocket, yanked out a bunch of keys
and opened the gate. He ran back to the car,
drove in, turned left and brought the car to a
halt at the backyard. He ran to the gate and
locked it. The compound looked enticing and
had cost a fortune. It was fenced in and a row
of yews lined round the inside, adding to the
perfection of the compound. Reagan had
bought the apartment from a British resident
who relocated to London after he retired from
the civil service. It was in this apartment that
Reagan met with a couple of high ranking
citizens and non-citizens he worked for. He
was scarcely in the apartment for he was
always busy and had no permanent base.

Reagan ran over to the passenger’s door,
opened it and carried the half awake Stella on
his sturdy shoulder. He hurried into the
apartment and went straight to the bedroom.

He dropped Stella on bed and threw the bunch
of keys on a stool. As he quickly started to
undress, he remembered scornfully that he had forgotten his phone in the burnt apartment and that thought made him fix his mind with smiles on how he had dealt with Paul.

After Reagan had entered the bathroom, he
took off his clothes and got into the bathtub.

He turned on the shower and the cool water
started splashing all over his body. He was
already soaping his body when he looked out
through the small window and by the light of
the moon, he made out a shape of a being
some miles to his apartment. He squinted and
saw a man standing in the darkness. He tried
to imagine what the man was still doing out
there at that time of the night but could think
of nothing. He observed the man’s eyes were fixed at his apartment and his curiosity was aroused. He stood still in the bathtub, his
senses on full alert. When he saw the man
take out his phone and make a quick call, he
knew something was wrong. He jumped out of
the bathtub, picked his gun from the table,
descended the stairs and was out in the
darkness. Paul was already in front of his
compound when Reagan caught up with him
from behind. He tapped Paul’s shoulder and
when he swung around and met the muzzle
pressed against his forehead, he started
breathing hard and his body went shaking. He
recognized he was the same man he had seen
entering the apartment and his breathing
increased.

“What’re you doing out here?” Reagan
whispered into his ears.

Paul said slowly, “Taking fresh air.”

Reagan smiled, “At this time of the night?”

Paul raised his eyes, “It’s none of your
business.”

Reagan pressed the muzzle hard on his fragile
forehead, “I think it’s my business,” he pushed the muzzle harder that Paul staggered
backwards. He closed forward and held the
gun firm on his head, “because you just
stepped into my territory.” He licked his lips,

“Who was that you were talking to on the
phone?”

Paul didn’t respond. He started praying
Dennis came that minute but Reagan didn’t
allow him to finish the prayer for he put a
bullet in his head. He smirked as Paul
slumped dead and he sq££zed his hand into
his trouser pocket and took out his phone. He
looked up the call log and a wave of panic
immediately ran through him when he realized
Paul had called Agent Dennis. He knew who
Dennis was and what he could do. Overcome
by a great rage, he hurried into Paul’s
apartment, ran from room to room and found
his wife asleep in one of the rooms. He quickly
pointed the gun at her and made her sleep
everlasting. He hurried out of the building, got
to Paul’s lifeless body and dragged it up the
street. He leaned it against a cashew tree,
dipped a finger in his blood and wrote
Goodnight on his forehead. He ran up to his
apartment, climbed up the stairs, entered the
room and found Stella already awake. He
smirked, rushed into another room, came out
with a stun gun and shot her. He untwisted
the wire and carried her outside, to his car.

Then rushing back to the house, he entered a
small room and lifted a two-gallon gasoline.

In few minutes, he had already set the
building on fire and was speeding to No 7
Steve Avenue.
