The killers guild - Season 1 - Episode 66

Lance Elliott is a detective who has made himself renowned at a tender age of twenty-seven. He is gifted with an handsome face worthy of a fashion model or a movie actor. He is well over six feet tall with broad shoulders and long legs, he has a perfect muscle tone as a result of excessive workout sessions. His coal black hair were properly groomed which made it look astonishing. He was nicked Sherlock due to his outstanding record at solving mysteries. Beneath the sunglasses he had on, his sky-blue eyes were narrowed and focused on the car which was now approaching him.

“Lance Elliott?” The driver asked, parking right next to him.

Lance stares awkwardly at the driver for a while and says. “No.”

The man starts driving away then he came back and says with a smile on his face. “You are Lance Elliott.” The man came down and takes his luggage from him, and puts it in the trunk.
“Is that where I’m going to sit?” Lance asked.

“What? You mean the trunk? Of course not why will you sit in the trunk? You will be sitting in the back seat.” The driver says.

“Well, I’d like to sit next to my luggage. Lots of valuable stuffs in there and you don’t look trustworthy.” Lance says.

“Oh, okay then.” The man says taking the heavy luggage out of the trunk and placing it in the back seat.

“Hey, hey, hey. What are you doing?”
“Placing it in the back seat like you asked, sir.”
“Why are you placing it on the right side? That’s where I’m going to seat.” Lance says.
“Oh, no problem I’ll just place it on the other side then.” The driver says as he lifts the luggage and placed it on the left side.
“Why are you placing it in that position? It’s taking too much space. That way their will be no space left for me to sit.”

“I’ll just reposition it then.” The man says as he proceeded to do so.

“You know what? I changed my mind, just place it in the trunk.” The man was reluctant so Lance asks. “Any problem?”

“None at all sir, I’ll do as you say.” The man said as he was almost sweating.

The driver placed the luggage in the trunk and Lance got into the car’s back-seat. The driver came in and he drove off.

“So how did you know I was Lance Elliott?” Lance asks.

“The chief told me to look out for the most charismatic man in the crowd. He said that would be you.” The driver says.

Lance smiled and says. “I see you have good eyes. So what’s your name?” Lance asks.
“My name is Jeff.” The driver says.
“Hmm, so Jeff how long have you been in this city?”

“I grew up here.”
“Wow is that so? You look like you’re are in your late 30s. You must be married.”
“Yeah I’m happily married.” Jeff says.
Lance frowned and stared at the mirror. “Look into the mirror Jeff and tell me if you are married.”

Jeff did as he was told and looks into the mirror. Then he says. “Like I said, I’m happily married.”

“Liar, you probably never got married? No, that’s not it. Your wife dumped you? Oh I see she dumped you.” Lance says.
“How in the world did you do that.”
“Do what?” Lance asks resting his head against the seat.

“I mean I’ve heard that you could tell when people were lying to you by looking into their eyes but I never thought it was possible. Yeah my wife dumped me but you’re like a lie detecting machine so how did you do it.”

Lance smiled and says. “It’s a gift, a magical gift.”

“Well I don’t really believe in magic or miracles.” Jeff says.

“Stick with me and that opinion will definitely change.” Lance says.

They drove on in silence for a little while and Lance was enjoying the beautiful view of the city.
“Astonishing hun?” Jeff says as he noticed Lance eyes were fixed on his surroundings.
“One of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever been to and trust me I’ve been to a lot of cities.” Lance says admiring the greenhouses and plants.

“You know my life used to be as green as those plants. Then things took a turn for bad and now I’m a driver, my last job was as a security officer at Saintstone hospital. And I lost that job too. Their was a time when I was considering suicide you know?.” Jeff says as Lance bursts into laughter.

“I’m sorry, I just find it funny when people talk about suicide, I mean when there’s so much to live for.” Lance says.

“Well, I used to consider suicide but now I know better. You know what they say, when their’s life their’s hope.”

“So why did you lose your job at the hospital it must have paid better than this.” Lance says.
“It was an unfaithful night and I was on duty when this crazy guy with a mask came in with six men and they raided the place killing everyone in sight. I was lucky to be the only survivor that night, the hospital management had me fired saying I had to be an accomplice for being the only survivor. I almost went to prison for that, can you imagine?” Jeff says.

“Wait did you just say the guy had a mask?”
“Yeah, he did.”

“This guy with the mask, who was he?” Lance asks getting excited.

“I don’t know for sure but I heard them calling him Agent X. He’s supposed to be a drug kingpin or something like that either way he ruined my life even more.”

“Haha!” Lance exclaimed excitedly, ‘So Agent X came here to Evergreen city. I’m about to kill three birds with a stone, you won’t escape from me this time Agent X.’ Lance says to himself.

“You seem quite interested in this guy do you know him?” Jeff asks.

“Mind your own business and just drive.” Lance says.

Then they drove on in silent as Lance kept thinking. ‘But if Agent X is also here at Evergreen city, then he and Zach must have met, Zach you fool, of all the cities you could have moved into, it just had to be the same city Agent X himself had relocated to. I have a bad feeling about this.’ Lance thought as he was getting worried.

“All this thinking is giving me a headache, Jeff can you stop at a restaurant or a bar on our way I need a drink.” Lance says.
“Oh their’s one nearby but it’s not on this route.” Jeff says.
“Then take the route that leads to the bar. I need a drink before my headache gets worse, you won’t like me when my headache gets worse, so you better hurry up.” Lance says.
“Alright then.” Jeff says as he took a right turn and sped up.

‘Well I’m sure they haven’t met, Zach would have called me.’ Lance thought getting relaxed.

“Jeff, you know a guy by the name of Zach Owens?” Lance asks.
“No I don’t, Evergreen is a big city sir but I’m sure if you ask around, you should be able to find the guy you’re looking for.” Jeff says.
“It was silly of me to have asked anyways, he might be using a different name.” Lance thought aloud.

“Why will he be using a different name sir is he undercover?” Jeff asks.
“Why are you asking so much questions? Are you a spy? Mind your own business and only talk when I tell you to talk, drive when I tell you to drive and…” Lance was saying when the car came to a sudden stop. The effect which caused Lance to jerk forward as his face was met with the car’s headrest. “D--n, what now? Why have we stopped all of a sudden? You are really starting to get on my nerves.” Lance says adjusting his hair.

“Sorry sir but their seems to be some sort of commotion up ahead.” Jeff says.
Lance looked up and saw how several other cars were parked on the road as the drivers were unable to proceed forward.”What’s going on?” Lance asks.

“It would appear some guys have decided to obstruct the road.” Jeff says.

Lance saw for himself how four guys had placed a wooden table and two wooden chairs on the road, two of those guys were sitting down playing a game of chess. The other guys were standing next to them each one with a knife in his hand. Lance saw how people were pleading with them to get off the road from a safe distance as no one had the heart to walk up to them.
“See? This is one of the problems that we are now facing in this city, ever since the new mayor got in. Most people believe he doesn’t deserve the position of mayor and some of them are being used by the opposition parties to rebel against his government. The first man to do something like this was Bob Goatee. He did it to prove that the city’s security sU-Cks and he got away with it. More and more people have started following in his footsteps. This guys are one of those people. Perhaps we should take another route.” Jeff says.

“Why should we do that? I like this route. Just run them over.” Lance says.
“What?” Jeff asked.
“Go ahead and run them over it will be fun.” Lance says.

“I’m sure I’ll lose my job if I do that, and my driver’s licence then I’ll probably go to Jail.” Jeff says.

“Alright, I’ll do it the old fashion way then.” Lance says.

“What’s that?” Jeff asks.
“Beat them till they forget their mother’s names. You wait here, I’ll be right back.” Lance says as he proceeded to exit the vehicle.
