The killers guild - Season 1 - Episode 63

They truly are something worthy to remember,
Oh, how worthy they are, those memories that flow in my veins.

Nostalgic are those feelings i get, when i recall those memories that are silvery.

You might be gone from my sight, but your memory forever remains.

One could begin with the buzz, the excitement and the tension in the air, division Q had never before being in such a state of nervous excitement. But Simon wasn’t moved by this show of unnecessary enthusiasm. He watched as the whole place was being redecorated, ‘All this for one man?’ he wondered, and the one seat that seems to be at the centre of attraction, Simon stared at the name tag with spite as he read “Detective Lance Elliott.”

As if triggering a garrison invasion, the entire office broke into a full buzz.

“Is he here?” A female officer came running in.

“He’s almost here.” Says another female officer who rushes over to one of her colleagues.
“Who’s coming?” The pretty female colleague says feigning ignorance.
“Lance Elliott of course.”
“Who’s Lance Elliott?”
“Only the most handsome, coolest, richest, and greatest detective in the world. Don’t try to act smart with me Janice, I know you’ve been crushing on him ever since you heard he was coming to Evergreen, The lady says and Janice smiled coyly.

‘Oh, so now Janice too is crushing on him.’ Simon thought, starting to hate this guy even more. ‘First he takes my post, took my glory and now he’s going to take my crush. I won’t give this unlucky jerk a chance to overshadow me, no way.’

Simon felt everything he has ever hoped for, everything he had worked for, for more than a decade now was being given to this jerk who probably got to where he is today because of his family’s influence. Even though Simon doesn’t know what his story to success was, he had a feeling that the young lad didn’t have to work for it.

“All this fuss for one man, makes you think Jesus himself is coming today.” A voice says, jolting Simon out of his sub consciousness.
Simon turned around to see officer Joseph.
“A little too much fuss if I must say.” Simon says.

“Well for a man who is said to be better than sherlock, I don’t think it’s too much.” An officer by the name of Frank says as he walks up to them.

“Frank, you and I both know that’s overstated.”‎ Simon says.

“The records don’t lie Simon, this guy is a legend.” Joseph says.

“And, whose sides are you on?” Simon asks, staring at Joseph.

“I’m not picking any sides, I’m just stating the true facts.” Joseph says.

Simon wanted to say something but just then the chief walks in. The room went quiet as the chief spoke.

“Well, I’m sure you are all aware of the fact that due to the high rate of criminal activities going on in this city, the mayor has decided to bring in the world class detective, Lance Elliott to help us out. Now, what does this imply?” The chief asked. Silence, as no one spoke. “It means you and I, we sU-Ck at our jobs, we sU-Ck so badly that we can’t solve our own problems, the mayor doesn’t trust our abilities any more and if care is not taking this guy is going to show the world just how useless you all are. So I want everyone to be at their best behaviour, don’t ask him for an autograph.” The chief says eyeing some of the male folks. “Don’t bother or frustrate him.” He says this time eyeing Joseph, “Don’t ask him for money.” He says now staring at Officer Daniel. “And don’t ask him out. By that I’m referring to every female officers and the male ones with gay tendencies.” The crowd laughed at the chief’s sarcasm and the chief smiled as well. “Alright then, let’s give him a warm welcome, I learnt he normally gives a rating of whichever police department he has been posted to, on social media for his well over 30 million followers to see, so let’s try and get that rating high. Is there any one here who has a question? no? Then let’s get back to work.” The chief says as he walks out, then the room returns to a state of frenzy.

“When will he get here?”
“Can’t wait to meet him.”
“I hope he’s as great as I’ve heard of him.”

The crowd murmured.
