Few days later Adela got discharged from the hospital. Stevie had to ask Gloria to come live with him and take care of Adela. Gloria had to lie saying Stevie was her son. The day they moved in. They walked inside the house with their suitcases after Stevie had picked them up.

“This house looks familiar,” said Adela looking around the house. “I think I have been here before.”

“Do you think she is getting her memory back?” asked Stevie in a whisper.

“I don’t know but remember what the doctor said, we musn’t force her to remember. He said we must take it easy with her. Where should I put these?”
“Follow me!”

He led the way to the room where Adela used to sleep before the accident. Stevie hadn’t visited his parents since Adela was in hospital. He used to talk to his father over the phone since they were in good books.

Dealing with a bad situation can be a lot like dealing with grief, and people often go through the same stages shock, pain, anger and bargaining. You might not be able to fully overcome your emotions, but you can decide to accent what’s happened, regardless of how you feel about it. The sooner you accent it, the sooner you can act from where you are, which is the only way to change how you feel.

It was late afternoon when Adela walked downstairs dressed in a black mini stress and sandals.

“Where are you going?” asked Stevie getting up from the chair.
She rolled her eyes and proceeded.
“Adela!” he shouted.
She turned to face him.
“Really? I am going out on a date.”
“On a date. With who?”
“The guy I met at the hospital, Jerome. He is taking me out. Any problem with that.”
“You can’t go out with people you hardly know. I am your boyf..,” he stopped at midsentence. “I am trying to protect you. I know you hate me but don’t go out with this guy. Instead come and watch a movie with me. What do you say?”
“Listen buddy. You don’t tell me what to do. I am going out with him, period,” she opened the door and slammed it on his face.
“Dammit Adela!”
“What is it?” asked Gloria coming from the kitchen. “Where is Adela?”
“She went out,” replied Stevie defeated.
“With who?”
“I don’t know, some guy she met at the hospital. You know what Auntie, let me follow her. I won’t let her go out with some strange guy,” he grabbed his car keys. ” I will be back,” she kissed her on the cheek.
Walked out of the house, got into his car and drove off. Luckily Adela hadn’t gone that far. She got into a taxi and Stevie followed. The driver parked the car at Nandos while Stevie parked few distances away. He watched Adela getting out of the car. She saw her hugging a guy wearing a black hoddie. They got inside Nandos and Stevie followed them.

They got out a few minutes later looking happy together. It broke his heart. He clenched his first and felt like running towards the guy and give him some few punches but he kept his cool. He wasn’t a violent person. The two headed at the park and Stevie was still following them. They sat on the bench at Centenary Park. Watching her smile and laugh from a distance made him remember the time they spent together. Adela stood up and the man tried to kiss her but she refused. He was now forcing her when Stevie got up from where he sat. He walked towards and the guy held Adela tightly on the arm while she pleaded with him to let her go.

“Didn’t you hear what she said? Let her go!”
“Stay away from this man. This is between me and my girlfriend.”
“Your girlfriend? You forcing her to do something she doesn’t want to do. Let her go of my sister”
“Or what?”
“I will blow your brains out.”
He let her go. Stevie lifted up Adela.
“Put me down!”
“No!”
“I will scream. I said put me down.”
“I am not going to put you down. I think I told you not to go out with that guy.”
“Did you follow me? You some kind of a body guard now?”

Stevie ignored her and continue walking carrying her to his car. People just stared. He put her inside and locked the doors. She watched him as he strode to the driver’s seat. The drive at home was quite. She kept looking at him, arms crossed on chest. They got home and he just got out leaving her inside. He walked inside the house and headed to the kitchen. He opened the fridge and poured himself a glass of cold water. He pulled a chair and sat.
“You are back. I saw Adela going to her room. What happened?”
“Auntie! Do you think I am being unfair to her? She is my girlfriend and seeing her with a manit does hurt me.”

“True love is unbreakable it can withstand all the obstacles of bad things, it’s a feeling you can’t describe and a moment you want to last foever,” she went on. “The couples that are meant to be, are the ones who go through everything that is meant to tear them apart and come out even stronger. Have patient my son,” she hugged him
