Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 1
{SICILY,Dominion Life Chapel}
The morning sun cut through the stained glass windows of Dominion Life Chapel, painting the marble floor in gold, blue, and red.
The chapel was massive but looked like old history, but the chapel was a holy place filled with thousands, when the choir stood up, everything went quiet.
Dressed in white robes with black sashes, the nuns filed to the front. Their faces were calm and their hands folded.
They started singing, their voices rose together slow, holy and powerful.
The congregation swayed. Some closed their eyes. Some lifted their hands.
In the middle of the second row stood.
ISABEL.
Her voice wasn’t just part of the choir. It floated above it.
Clear. Sweet. Like water over stones.
Isabel sang with her eyes closed, hands raised. Her face glowed under the light. She didn’t look like she was performing. She looked like she was talking to God.
By the time the song ended, there was silence for 2 seconds.
Then the whole chapel erupted.
Isabel smiled shyly and bowed her head. Everyone loved her because when Isabel sang, it didn’t feel like church.
It felt like peace.
*********
Everyone was leaving the church after service. Isabel also came out, looking for her best friend, Iris.
Finally, she spotted her and walked towards her. But Iris was busy staring at a hot guy who was talking to some girls who weren’t nuns.
“Iris,” Isabel called, snapping Iris out of her thoughts.
Iris flinched, thinking it was the senior nun.
“What, Isabel? You scared me to death,” Iris said, touching her chest and trying to catch her breath.
“You’re not going to die,Never.” Isabel said, then glared at the hot guy.
“I can’t believe you’re still dreaming about the priest’s nephew. I told you before you’re a nun, and it’s a sin to be staring at men like that.”Isabel added.
Isabel and Iris had been friends since childhood. Both were orphans. Isabel’s dad died in an accident, and her mom abandoned her at an orphanage. That’s where she met Iris, and they became best friends.
The owner of the orphanage was Ava, known as Mother Ava in the church. Because of her, they both dedicated their lives to Christ.
Iris rolled her eyes, still staring at the hot guy.
“He’s not just the priest’s cousin. His name is Ice, and I think I’m in love with him.”
Isabel quickly covered Iris’s mouth.
“Are you crazy? You’re a nun! Falling in love? Come on, Iris, you’ll get caught,” Isabel hissed.
Iris yanked her hand off her mouth.
“I’m serious, Isabel. I know that, but I can’t help it. He’s so cute. Every day he comes to the church, I can’t help but stare… and I get butterflies.” Iris said dramatically.
Isabel shook her head in shock.
“You’re sinning, Iris. Nuns don’t sin. Remember, you dedicated your life to Christ. Iris, you’re my friend, and I’m just looking out for you.” Isabel whispered.
Iris turned to face Isabel.
“Thanks, Isabel, but I really like this guy. Bye.”
And with that, Iris walked away.
Isabel sighed and took a deep breath.
“Iris can’t do this,” Isabel muttered to herself, then turned and left.
{The Rectory }
The priest, Father James, was in the rectory. He sat across from Mother Ava, both of them with Bibles open on the table between them.
The room smelled like old wood and candles, A soft knock came at the door.
“Come in,” Father James called.
Isabel stepped in quietly. Her hands were clasped in front of her,She saw them both and immediately bowed her head a little.
“You called me, Father?” Isabel said softly.
“Yes, dear. Have a seat next to Mother Ava,” Father James said with a kind smile.
Isabel sat down. Her heart was pounding.
“My child,” Father James began, folding his hands. “Ava told me everything about your dream. About wanting to go to Havoc Elite College and the church has decided we will make sure your dream comes true.”
Isabel’s face lit up instantly. Her eyes welled with tears.
Havoc Elite was the best college in all of Sicily. It was where all the elite people studied.
“Thank you, Father. Thank you, Mother Ava,” Isabel said, her voice shaking with joy.
“I promise you both, I won’t fail you. I won’t fail God.
It’s always been my dream to study art in the best college in Sicily, I’m really good at drawing, and I just… I want to learn more. I want to make you proud.”
“You’re welcome, dear,” Father James said warmly. “We believe in your gift.”
“Pack your bags, Isabel,” Mother Ava said with a gentle smile.
“Tomorrow, you will be moving into the school dormitory.”She added.
Isabel’s smile dropped instantly, her stomach twisted.
“What about the church?” Isabel asked quickly. “What about my duties here?”
“You can visit the church on Sundays and on weekends,” Mother Ava reassured her. “Everything will be fine. God will guide you through this new chapter.”
“Amen,” Isabel whispered. She forced a smile and stood up.
“Thank you again.” She left quickly ,excitement flowing in her veins.
******
That evening, Isabel walked around the church with a wide smile on her face, she still couldn’t believe it, tomorrow. Havoc Elite School.
It was a dream come true. Years of sketching in the margins of her Bible, of drawing on the church walls when no one was looking ,it was finally paying off.
She wanted to share the news with someone.
Iris. The only person who knew how much this meant to her.
Isabel looked everywhere. The choir room. The garden. The kitchen.
But Iris was nowhere to be found.
Then, as she passed the storage room at the back of the church ,the room where they kept old junks, broken chairs, and dusty hymn books.
Suddenly she heard strange sounds.
A moan. A gasp. Whispered laughter.
Isabel frowned. She slowed her steps and moved closer.
The door was slightly open.
She peeked inside and her eyes widened.
Her hand flew up to cover her mouth to stop the scream.
Iris was half-naked pressed against the wall making out with Ice breathing heavily.
“Iris?!” Isabel screamed.
Both of them froze instantly.
Ice pulled away slowly, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. Instead of shame, he wore a cocky smirk like he’d been caught doing nothing wrong.
Iris’s face went pale. Her eyes were wide with panic and shame. She quickly tried to pull her blouse down with trembling hands.
And Isabel just stood there. Her chest heaved. Her dream day shattered in one single second.
“Hey,” Ice drawled, leaning against the dusty shelf like he owned the place. “We’re in the middle of a make out. Mind your business, nun girl.”
Isabel’s fists balled at her sides. Yes, she was a nun in-training. Yes, she was supposed to be gentle, forgiving, holy. But she was also stubborn. And she had zero tolerance for people who disrespected God’s house.
Before she could think, she lunged forward.
A sharp sound echoed in the storage room.
Her palm connected hard with Ice’s face.
His eyes widened. His head snapped to the side.
A bright red mark bloomed instantly on his cheek.
Iris gasped, both hands flying to her mouth.“Isabel! Why did you hit him?!”
“What the fu*k!” Ice groaned clutching his jaw, he glared at her, fury flashing in his eyes.
“You crazy bîtçh!”Ice groaned, Isabel stepped closer, her voice filled with rage.“Do you think you can make out in God’s holy home, huh? In the storage room of a church? You disgust me.”
“Me?!” Ice yelled, pointing at Iris with a bitter laugh.
“She came to me asking for it! Don’t act so holy now!”
Iris gulped hard when Isabel turned those furious eyes on her.
Tears welled up instantly in Iris eyes.
“I’m so sor_ry,” Iris whispered, her voice breaking.
“Please… please don’t tell anyone. I didn’t mean for this to happen.”
“Fu*k,” Ice muttered again, rubbing his burning cheek. The slap had left a clear handprint.
Isabel didn’t spare Ice another glance. He wasn’t worth it.
Instead, she grabbed Iris’s wrist and dragged her out of the storage room, slamming the door behind them.
{Nun Room }
The room was small, with two narrow beds, a wooden cross on the wall, and the faint smell of lavender. Isabel made sure the door was shut before she turned on Iris.
“Iris, why would you do this?” Isabel hissed, her voice low but sharp. “Do you have any idea what the punishment is if Father James or Mother Ava caught you having sex inside the church? You could be expelled. Disgraced. Sent away!”
Iris dropped her head. Tears slipped down her cheeks.
“I’m really sorry, Isabel,” she sobbed. “I promise. I swear I’ll never do it again. It just happened. It was because I—”
“Stop,” Isabel cut her off, but her voice softened, she sighed and pulled Iris into a tight hug.“Fine. But you need to ask God for forgiveness, Iris, this is a grave sin. You defiled the church. You risked everything.”
Iris nodded against her shoulder, crying harder.
“I will. I promise. I’ll pray all night.”
Isabel pulled back and wiped a tear from Iris’s cheek.
“Then start now. Because if anyone finds out before you confess ,I won’t be able to protect you.”
“Ok”She whispered ,they both smiled.
“So guess what?”Isabel asked.
“What?”Iris asked.
“I’m going to havoc elite school tomorrow.”Isavel said with a wide smile.
“That’s really a big news.”Iris said and they both hugged eachother.
Isabel withdraw the hug.“You’ve no idea how excited I am right now ,I can’t believe am going to havoc elite college, the most elite college in sicily.”
“But you should be careful there though ,It’s an elite school.”Iris whispered,h we voice laced with concern.
“Don’t worry Iris ,Besides the church is paying for tutition ,so I will be fine.”Isabel whispered and they both hugged eachother again.
