★
The careful look on Skylar’s face slipped away, replaced by a disdainful one as she stepped back.
“An asshole would of course always be an asshole.”
El Crow’s hand went down. The bearings of his surrounding flooded back to him naturally.
He saw the stabbed woman first. She sat on the ground, clutching her stabbed bleeding arm while crying.
He shifted his gaze to Skylar who was glaring resentfully at him.
Then…next, his eyes shifted to his car. His fucking cherished car.
The headlights have been crushed into the bonnet by the pole, and his nameplate was now unrecognizable.
“Damn!” He rushed over to the car which was still spitting smokes like hell. “Of course Jethro’s business mixer night would be as ugly as his face. Damn!” He cussed again, resting his palms on the car.
“I’ve been cheated!!!!” The crying women’s voice penetrated the air sharply. “I did nothing wrong! I was only on my way to the grocery store when you attacked me!!!”
El Crow’s head turned almost robotically. His eyes were pitiless when he sighted her again.
He stepped closer to her.
“You’re the same person who killed at the piercers not long ago, and now you attacked me unjustly? What do you think the streets would say if they heard about this?” She paused her tears to look at her bleeding arm. “Because you’re rich, because your father is rich, you think you have the right to eliminate people anyhow?”
“Yes,” El Crow replied to her last statement darkly.
The woman went silent. And the way El Crow was looking at her like he wanted to gobble her up?
It scared her again.
He pulled out his wallet and dug out dollar notes and his business card, throwing them on the ground.
“Take the business card to any hospital in this city or any witch. You’d get treated for free. And the cash? Do whatever you want with it.”
The woman looked at him again, sniffling painfully before letting go of her bleeding arm.
She scrambled to gather the money. It was a lot of money.
She got up and walked over to Skylar who still stood wordlessly.
“Thanks for saving my life, Skylar.”
“It’s weird how everyone knows my name in this city.” She rolled eyes.
The woman stepped back, rushing down that road.
Without saying another word, Skylar began walking back to her bike.
“I didn’t know the cumslut had humane emotions. Saving a woman from my scissors death is new,”
Skylar stopped and turned on her boots, eyes flamed.
“The only reason I stopped you was because she wasn’t Marisa. You probably sniffed cocaine before driving, and that’s why you were hallucinating like a bitch.”
Not minding the smokes coming from his car body, he rested on it, legs and arms crossed as he gave her a stare.
She wore a cropped top again. KISS MY CUNT TO THE PINK PARK was written on the top this time.
And half of her tummy was left open, flaunting her navel ring.
“Nose ring. Navel ring. Where else has a ring on you? Your p-ssy?” He intentionally mentioned.
“I’d let you find out yourself, but, I don’t welcome mouths with stitches between my legs, cocaineboy.” She rolled eyes and got on her bike.
The smokes from his car had already parched her outfit. She got her perfume and sprayed herself to get rid of smokes before riding off.
The taunting smirk on El Crow’s lips cleared immediately, replaced by a cold look of realization.
He lifted his shoe to the car tyre, kicking it twice before driving his punch to the window.
It shattered, and fog formed on the car body as hot breaths escaped his nostrils to it.
Marisa.
She was the one he definitely saw.
She intentionally wore that dress, knowing it’d trigger him.
She intentionally did it.
To think that this witch is the same reason he can’t sleep on a bed that’s not elevated, and she’s still trying this hard to drive him crazier?
This won’t end well.
He opened the car door and picked his phone, a bottled water, and his pocket perfume bottle.
He stepped away from the car and sprayed himself to remove the smell of smoke. He nearly used all the perfume on his hair.
He washed the woman’s blood away from his palms, and then he dialled a Enigma Army.
He was already walking away from the road as the line connected.
“You have fifteen minutes.” He breathed in. “Get me another car and meet me at the road—ten minutes drive away from Enigma House.”
“I’ll be there sir,” The Army’s voice replied instantly.

[Mixer Hall]
The presence of everyone pressed the hall so deep the groans of the walls could almost be heard.
Every invited guests is present except Skylar and El Crow.
Marisa entered few minutes ago with her stewards, and she looked like the star of the mixer as the wealthy bankers and tycoon CEOs tried to get her special attention.
But her stewards did their jobs of not letting anyone get too close. Marisa stood elegantly at her table, smiling that usual soft, innocent smile as she exchanged few words with the men.
Satan didn’t come with Midnight. The invite mentioned strictly that she could only come with her daughters.
She stayed proudly at her table. No chance to even get close to Marisa since the woman was currently surrounded by men.
“Congratulations on your team win, Satan.” A CEO smiled at Satan.
“Thank you,” She offered.
“The city is looking forward to the first tournament, including me,” Another man said.
In no time, important people flanked Satan too, but still not as much as Marisa’s crowd.
Rosita and Roselle sat on the same table. While Rosita sipped her wine nonchalantly, Roselle wouldn’t stop hissing. While Rosita wore palazzo pants and blazer, Roselle wore a very tight condom dress.
Roselle hissed again.
“I swear if you hiss one more time…” Rosita faced her frostily.
“Why can’t I hiss?” Roselle bit out. “I can’t stand the way men are flanking Marisa. Look at them acting thirsty for her. You’d think she’s the one one in this stupid mixer!”
“Did we really sleep in the same womb?” Rosita shook her head. “You disgust the fuck out of me.”
“Well you disgust me too!” Roselle shot back bitterly.
At Arturo’s table, he was alone since he couldn’t come with Castle. His secret business people will never be found in this kind of mixer, so no one came to say hi genuinely.
All attention was on Marisa and sparsely on Satan.
He kept checking the time for when El Crow would arrive.
By Satan’s table, she kept checking the time too. When is Skylar going to really arrive here? She’s the one who’d introduce her to Marisa.
Why’s that bitch still absent?
At the second floor rails, stood Bellatrix. She watched the mixer Hall from there, getting impatient.
Why was El Crow not here?
She wore a blue Cinderella dress which dragged the floors like a bride’s, and her hair was perfectly curled, shaping her round face which had the cleanest makeup ever.
She craned her neck, getting impatient for his arrival.
And that was when Skylar entered.
Bellatrix blinked, taken by surprise. Fine, she knew Skylar would definitely come, but…
Her dress sense.
Everyone dresses corporately to business mixers, but not Skylar.
Is it her cropped top? Loose knee-level leather pants? Or the hairstyling and makeup.
She looked like abnormality in the middle of normals, and the fact that she wore tall boots plus her attractive tallness, she could pass for the hottest woman living right now.
Bellatrix smiled before knowing it.
Besides Skylar’s mean girl attitude and the rare beauty, the main thing that pulled her to Skylar was the way Skylar carried herself.
No competition.
No finesse to it.
She was always stunning.
Bellatrix rushed downstairs, and maids quickly held the tail of her gown so she wouldn’t fall.
She caught Skylar by the entrance.
“Hey, Girl!”
Skylar turned. “Oh, it’s the stitchmouth’s bride-to-be.”
“I swear to gawd, you’re so hot. I wish I could dress as freely as you and be an i-don’t-give-a-damn person like you,” Bellatrix gushed immediately.
“You’re cute and fluffy and all, but don’t catch feelings. I won’t fuck a girl,” Skylar said with a frown.
“Stop.” Bellatrix laughed.
“You really look like a bride in this dress of yours.” Skylar checked her out thoroughly again. “Maybe business mixer is just a lie. Maybe you’re getting married tonight.”
“This is really a business mixer, but…” Bellatrix smiled. “Dad is announcing my relationship with El tonight too.”
“Please tell me it’s real!” Skylar’s eyes brightened.
“I’m real!” Bellatrix blinked.
Skylar’s eyes scanned the hall, falling on the twins table.
They were already looking at her, and when her eyes caught Roselle, she imagined how she would burn tonight when the relationship announcement gets out.
“Someone’s dying tonight…” Skylar laughed evilly.
“What are you talking about?” Bellatrix blinked cutely again.
“Nevermind.” Skylar gave her a villainous squint. ” By the way, your boyfriend got into a little accident.”
“What!” Bellatrix gasped, horror filling her eyes. “No no! Not my…”
“Chill.” Skylar frowned. “Hell. You’re easy to get to. The asshole was in an accident, but he didn’t get hurt. Pretty sure he’s on his way here right now, lover girl.” She scoffed.
Bellatrix took a deep breath.
She followed her maids back upstairs, and Skylar took a turn to proceed walking inside.
Rosita walked up to her with two cups of champagne.
She offered one to Skylar.
Skylar took it, brought it to her lips like she’d drink, but she lowered it at the last minute and poured it on the floor while holding eyes with Rosita.
“You’d be daft if you think I’d take anything to my mouth from any of you Satan’s twins.” She glared.
“Guess what, bitch?” Rosita returned the acidic smile. “I never expected you to drink it, but the floor would thank you for quenching it’s thirst. By the way, thank you for telling me to spin during the match. That last move made me win, and you’re behind it.” She came closer.
“I don’t want your thanks either.” Skylar kept up the evil glare.
Rosita’s eyes went down to her body, checking her out.
“Cool outfit, and… I’m guessing you’re not wearing a bra, considering the fact that your nipples are poking your crop top right now.”
“So many cocaines in the world, but you still choose to sniff on my business.” Skylar’s glare sliced across as she walked away from Rosita.
Rosita turned to look at her again.
Skylar’s leather pants was low waist, showcasing the three bullets tattoo at her lower back—below her waist.
“She’s maddeningly hot. Her arrogance makes sense. I’d be unstoppable too if I had that body.” She muttered intentionally, knowing Roselle was close to her.
“Did you just admire that wench?” Roselle said beside her.
Of course she heard.
“You hate that I admire her?” Rosita faced Roselle. “There’s the wall. Go hit your head, hard.”
With that, she left her.
Roselle’s mouth became bitter. Not because of anything else, but because of Skylar’s presence in here.
Skylar’s stroll was straight and poised. She made it to Marisa’s table, and Marisa stood in recognition.
The men surrounding her took their gazes away from her, landing their eyes on Skylar too.
The lust in their expressions was undeniable. They stared darkly like they’d wanna fuck her there.
“Allow me the pleasure of introducing my other half to you. In person of Skylar Vox, the star fighter of Team Dread.” Marisa smiled.
Skylar smiled delightedly, looking at Marisa with more admiration as the wealthy men all raised a toast.
“To Skylar.”
They drank to her, and Marisa gave Skylar a warm motherly hug.
“Welcome, Tall Doll. You look insanely sexy.”
“Thank you, Risa.” Skylar smiled wider, eyes thinning.
Marisa stroked her hair.
“Meet my Boss.” Skylar turned around to Satan’s table.
Satan came closer.
“Satan Osborne?” Marisa said with little to no regard.
“Great meeting you, and I hope we get to know each other better.” Satan stretched a welcoming hand.
Marisa took it slowly in a handshake.
Roselle boiled more.
Did Marisa just introduce Skylar as the best Dread Fighter?
Did the rich men just raise a toast to her? Did they all just stare at her?
At the top of the stairs, Bellatrix wasn’t alone anymore.
Jethro now stood beside her, but he looked distracted as he stared at just one thing in the hall.
Skylar.
He stared at her so hard. If staring could kill, Skylar would be dead now.
He didn’t stare with hate.
He stared like he was looking at something that already belonged to him. Like something he owned.
He saw her many times in the ring, but she didn’t look this hot.
Bellatrix kept panicking, hoping that El Crow would just come in.
Hoping he’s fine.
Hoping he won’t disappoint.
She bit her lip nervously, but a gasp left her when she saw him.
El Crow.
He was just arriving. Not in his suit anymore. Now he wore one of his loose jean pants and a white singlet plus the rugged-looking shoes.
He changed his mind in the last minute. After the Enigma Army brought another car for him, he requested for this new fit too cos he suddenly got tired of the suit.
He looked his usual carefree self as he entered the hall last.
“He’s here!” Bellatrix began rushing downstairs in joy.
As El Crow made his entry, his eyes found Marisa’s table.
Their eyes met.
She already changed clothes too.
She wasn’t wearing the turtlenecked dress anymore.
Their eyes spat venom at each other before she looked away from him with a silent smirk.
El Crow went to his father’s table.
“You came late!” Arturo scolded.
“So?” El Crow frowned. “Are they killing people who came late?”
Arturo hissed, and instantly, their table began getting filled too.
“El Crow?”
“I look forward to seeing you in the ring at the tournament!”
“You have no idea how impatient I am for the tournament cos of you.”
“Are you available to train me?”
El Crow couldn’t even answer any as the questions kept coming.
Arturo smiled proudly.
Look at these men, ignoring him since the start of this mixer, only for them to show up when his handsome son arrived. Bunch of idiots.
El Crow turned in the middle of the crowd, and for the first time since he entered the hall, he saw Skylar.
She sat on the same table as Marisa, drinking with the witch.
When their eyes clashed, Skylar gave him a sour face which he didn’t return cos of the irritation he felt.
This slut will never not make him hate her more.
Now she wasn’t just Marisa’s buttlicker. She’s also her puppet?
“El!” Bellatrix arrived at the ground floor, smiling large as she advanced with her maids carrying her dress.
El Crow’s brain switched.
Wait. He was supposed to be Bellatrix’s fake boyfriend.
He nearly forgot.
He snapped into boyfriend mood immediately, forcing a smile.
“Cutie!” He took her small hands, flashing her a grin.
“Are you ok?” She touched his neck, his face, his chest. “Skylar said you got into a little accident and—”
“I’m still complete.” He nodded, hoping she’d just stop touching him.
He was trying his best to not frown or shout at her or shove her.
“I’m glad.” Bellatrix stood on her toes despite her heels.
She kissed his cheek.
“What the!” Roselle gasped.
“Attention, everyone!” Jethro’s voice hit from the staircase.
Everyone looked up.
“As from tonight, El Crow, son of Arturo Acheron, belongs to my daughter Bellatrix Ortega. The Acheron family and my family are now bound by the mutual romantic relationship.” Jethro announced.
“And so shall it be!” Arturo added with a satisfied chuckle.
“No!!!!!” Roselle screamed crazily before she could stop herself.
